  1. If he was any good Gold Coast would keep him. When I followed his draft he had figjam written all over him.
  2. Would love Tommy to come in for Melksham but concerned about his movement. If he is moving well he ticks off what we need most. If Tommy is stuck on the treadmill we are better off playing another runner and play Trac more forward. Laurie is growing in confidence. Woey and Spargo other options for mine. Harmes and Jordon are out of the picture.
  3. WC will live trade the number 1 pick to us on draft night. This thread will get a few more pages yet.
  4. Yes I did notice Petracca eyes on Sunday. He did get a hit in the face in the 2nd quarter where he went down for a bit. Could have been that. But yes he was a bit off Sunday.
  5. That kick from McVee in the last quarter that setup the Tracc to Pickett goal was something very very special. Unbelievable decision marking and execution. Gee McVee is a smooth mover. He just glides.
  6. 4 goals up at 3/4. Scores level after 5 mins in. Then back out by 20. Great response. Exciting last quarter. I know I left the game pumped. Talk that crows missed sets shots but in the last it was us that missed 3 easy/gettable chances - Brayshaw, Gawn, Langdon. Also the smith with the umpires call touch. Crows also 2 goals from umpires - Lever down field and Kozzie 50. Crows missed one chance in the last. Positive signs for me are they we are starting to score again. Tackles inside 50 Adelaide 13 Melbourne 1. We don’t need to be that lock-in it forward half team all the time. We can score with our ball movement. Some signs of 2021 returning for me. Grundy/Smith for Brown. Fritsch back at some stage. Need to be able to score to win the flag.
  7. Actually played together round 3 - 50 point win against the Swans!!! (Brown was subbed out at half time injured but you can forget I told you that)
  8. Rowan Marshall absolutely killed Grundy last week. Grundy was physically very poor and that is being nice. Maybe he just needs a rest.
  9. Brave by the club and I applaud them. Can’t remember the last time either Gawn or Grundy took a mark inside 50 and Grundy was bog ordinary last week. Our year is meandering along as if it is 2022 need to do something. JVR and Brown forward with JVR second ruck. Maybe try Schache for a month as 3rd forward. Gawn to ruck and drift back not forward. Melksham can stay in as Fritsch is out. Tracc more forward. Kossie to get some midfield minutes.
  10. Watched the last 5 mins only. Biggest take out is that the dissent rule does not apply to Hawkins.
  11. Every game I watch at the moment the umpires are just way to involved. Some of the free kicks been paid you just shake your head and change the channel. Hope they stay out of the game Monday.
  12. DeGoey has booked flights to Bali at half time.
  13. Re: Channel 7 - Anyone else get a bit tired of seeing McKay’s parents all night on the broadcast or was it just me?
  14. Very soundly. McKay nearly kicked 50% of the blues score. Thought Tomlinson was poor tonight and poor against the bombers. I’d be getting games into Turner.
  15. In: Oliver, Turner Jordon (sub) Out: Bowey (conc), Tomlinson Harmes (sub) Brayshaw back for Bowey Turner for Tomlinson (Pies not as tall but need to play 3 talls to free up Lever)
  16. We all get disappointed after a loss. Footy is an emotional game and that is why we all love it. 7-4. Need to work on a few things. Could look at a few structural moves. My concern is we have seemed to have moved away from kick mark game which looked good early in the year. We kicked to contests a lot today.
  17. Love this thread - DD starts off by stating they didn’t watch the game today and then goes on to write a thesis on what is not working. I love Demonland.
  18. Gee Umpires heavily involved in that last quarter. Nearly got the dogs home.
  19. Rozzee keeps his feet there is nothing to see here. No way Trac or Oliver would contest in that way and leave themselves way open. They would pick it up and take the tackle. If Hunter didn’t keep his feet, massive head clash. AFL want to protect the head - players need to keep their feet.
  20. Assume this is Kye Turner not Daniel? Think Daniel might be handy to call on at some stage in the next 4-6 with Petty going down until after the bye.
  21. How can Christian grade it as high contact if you cannot see the end result in the vision? Just a guess? Staggering. If that is the only vision that exists we should appeal and Christian will look like an absolute goose. Be a shame for Sparrow to miss a game in front of his family in Adelaide.
  22. Great win. We are super fit. Loving the different players going through different positions this year. We are so versatile. Opposition must have a hard time working out what is happening. Moving the ball well. Tactically we look very sharp. How much better are our kick outs. Pies did look good but they can be scored against quite freely in my opinion. Not sure we can. We played more attacking but still so sound behind the ball even without the best defender in the comp last night. .
  23. Laurie didn't do much against the Tigers so I was surprised to hear of the news of his debut. But after I have let my thoughts settle I think it is fantastic. He will be better for the run and R1 - what a great game for him to debut in. Lets see what he has got on the big stage. He certainly has some tricks. To me he has an odd body shape which I thought might hinder him career wise but glass half full it is not dissimilar to Gary Ablett Junior. Pleased to see McVee in. Looks a great mover and great kick. When you pair him with Bowey that is some neat ball users coming out of the backline. May is big loss but Hibberd or Turner to cover. Maybe Turner in and Hibberd the sub. After last years finish we needed a freshness and we certainly have that with McVee and Bowey in the backline, Hunter and Grundy and the new rotations in the mid with Rivers, ANB and Kozzie. It does suck after a long preseason to head into round 1 without 4 top liners. But I still think we will get the job done.
