  1. Actually played together round 3 - 50 point win against the Swans!!! (Brown was subbed out at half time injured but you can forget I told you that)
  2. Rowan Marshall absolutely killed Grundy last week. Grundy was physically very poor and that is being nice. Maybe he just needs a rest.
  3. Brave by the club and I applaud them. Can’t remember the last time either Gawn or Grundy took a mark inside 50 and Grundy was bog ordinary last week. Our year is meandering along as if it is 2022 need to do something. JVR and Brown forward with JVR second ruck. Maybe try Schache for a month as 3rd forward. Gawn to ruck and drift back not forward. Melksham can stay in as Fritsch is out. Tracc more forward. Kossie to get some midfield minutes.
  4. Watched the last 5 mins only. Biggest take out is that the dissent rule does not apply to Hawkins.
  5. Every game I watch at the moment the umpires are just way to involved. Some of the free kicks been paid you just shake your head and change the channel. Hope they stay out of the game Monday.
  6. DeGoey has booked flights to Bali at half time.
  7. Re: Channel 7 - Anyone else get a bit tired of seeing McKay’s parents all night on the broadcast or was it just me?
  8. Very soundly. McKay nearly kicked 50% of the blues score. Thought Tomlinson was poor tonight and poor against the bombers. I’d be getting games into Turner.
  9. In: Oliver, Turner Jordon (sub) Out: Bowey (conc), Tomlinson Harmes (sub) Brayshaw back for Bowey Turner for Tomlinson (Pies not as tall but need to play 3 talls to free up Lever)
  10. We all get disappointed after a loss. Footy is an emotional game and that is why we all love it. 7-4. Need to work on a few things. Could look at a few structural moves. My concern is we have seemed to have moved away from kick mark game which looked good early in the year. We kicked to contests a lot today.
  11. Love this thread - DD starts off by stating they didn’t watch the game today and then goes on to write a thesis on what is not working. I love Demonland.
  12. Gee Umpires heavily involved in that last quarter. Nearly got the dogs home.
  13. Rozzee keeps his feet there is nothing to see here. No way Trac or Oliver would contest in that way and leave themselves way open. They would pick it up and take the tackle. If Hunter didn’t keep his feet, massive head clash. AFL want to protect the head - players need to keep their feet.
  14. Assume this is Kye Turner not Daniel? Think Daniel might be handy to call on at some stage in the next 4-6 with Petty going down until after the bye.
  15. How can Christian grade it as high contact if you cannot see the end result in the vision? Just a guess? Staggering. If that is the only vision that exists we should appeal and Christian will look like an absolute goose. Be a shame for Sparrow to miss a game in front of his family in Adelaide.
  16. Great win. We are super fit. Loving the different players going through different positions this year. We are so versatile. Opposition must have a hard time working out what is happening. Moving the ball well. Tactically we look very sharp. How much better are our kick outs. Pies did look good but they can be scored against quite freely in my opinion. Not sure we can. We played more attacking but still so sound behind the ball even without the best defender in the comp last night. .
  17. Laurie didn't do much against the Tigers so I was surprised to hear of the news of his debut. But after I have let my thoughts settle I think it is fantastic. He will be better for the run and R1 - what a great game for him to debut in. Lets see what he has got on the big stage. He certainly has some tricks. To me he has an odd body shape which I thought might hinder him career wise but glass half full it is not dissimilar to Gary Ablett Junior. Pleased to see McVee in. Looks a great mover and great kick. When you pair him with Bowey that is some neat ball users coming out of the backline. May is big loss but Hibberd or Turner to cover. Maybe Turner in and Hibberd the sub. After last years finish we needed a freshness and we certainly have that with McVee and Bowey in the backline, Hunter and Grundy and the new rotations in the mid with Rivers, ANB and Kozzie. It does suck after a long preseason to head into round 1 without 4 top liners. But I still think we will get the job done.
  18. Just finished watching the first 4 periods. These are my takes. Overall very positive. - We seemed to keep our width well. Happy to kick mark and look to corridor if there. - Thought our ball movement was good. Kicking sharp mostly as it was very windy. Patient movement in the backline but as soon as we get to the wings we went fast but no hero switches into corridor. Happy to take territory or to go down the line as we have great tall options with Grundy and Gawn. - Loved McVee. Looks a player. Looks a nice kick. - Bowey was great. Great kick - Like Bowey, McVee and Rivers in the backline. All great movers and ball uses. - Good to see a few others pop up in the midfield rotations. Kozzie, Rivers ect. Oliver the mainstay but Viney and Trac rotated through forward line. Trac could kick 40+ this year - Hunter very good. Langdon actually changed to the near side in the 2nd and 4th. - We look super fit. Half forwards get right up and back. - Shame TMac has to play a half in the backline to cover Lever - Grundy and Gawn seemed to work well. We looked strong in the air especially kicking out of defence. - Always a lot of direction between players on the field. Pointing to structures/positions ect - Seems like a lot of love between our players out there also
  19. I read that Essendon players were on a 5 day break after Wednesday. Read that in the article about their best and fairest Peter Wright hurting his calf. Not sure what was more alarming that he hurt his calf or that he is their best and fairest. Anyway looks like we trained hard Friday and then had another running session today. Whilst Essendon players are on a 5 day break. Sounds about right I suppose for both clubs.
  20. Awesome Nudge - that’s why I come on here - absolute positivity!!! Tingling with joy with every point read. Great report. Thanks
  21. Re: not having a proper bye. I hear the angst but the flip side is that we get a 10 day break into the Pies Kings birthday, 10 day break into Geelong then a 9 or 10 day break into GWS in Alice.
  22. Gather- round features only 2 games where Melbourne based teams play each other. Dees v ESS and Saints v Pies. These meetings are also the only time these teams play each other for the year. I think this is very poor that these teams have not been scheduled against each for a 2nd meeting back in Melbourne. I traditionally go with Essendon friends to Dees v ESS every year and it is not right that due to gather-round this has been taken away. I am sure this would apply to other Dees fans as well as pies and Saints fans. Gather round is a bonus money spinning round not a replacement round and by rights all teams that clash in this round should see a return match at a traditional venue at some point in the season. Only 2 matches are replayed later in the year (Rich v Swans, Haw v GWS)
  23. I really like what I see. I like what I read. I love this pick. I have very positive vibes. If this kid makes it after being basically picked up a from a training session sign JT up for life.
