  1. Would this move be a promotion for him? I would doubt it, maybe more secure. So I’ll assume we didn’t want him anymore. If he went to another AFL club I might have been disappointed.
  2. I think Baldwin is a very good chance to go in the first round. Good tall players are hard to find compared to other types. He is a risk no doubt so I think a team with multiple early picks will be the one to take a chance. If GWS doesn't strike I think we will. We have shown that we don't mind taking a risk in the draft. I might be wrong but I'd like to see him still on the board when our first pick comes.
  3. Believe Chandler was/has been played back. I think in one the hub videos Egan described him as a 'Rory Laird' type. Happy that Chandler has been retained. I think he will might be ok. I can't see Bedford making it though so if he was delisted I would say fair enough.
  4. 4 week rolling fixture, draw not released until Feb, another 20 day footy frenzy - The AFL are losing the plot here.
  5. From those highlights certainly looks like a good mover and a very neat kick.
  6. Not Melbourne related as such but the following does highlight how our attitude does get things done in trade week compared to others - Regarding the deal for Caldwell, who the Bombers secured along with Picks 44 and 74 for Pick 29 and a future second-round selection, McCartney took aim at Essendon for how they conducted themselves. “In isolation (as a deal), I was disappointed in what Essendon Football Club ... you need to be fair and reasonable to try and facilitate a transaction and that was somewhat frustrating, I’ll be honest with that,” he said on the club’s website. Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, McCartney was even more scathing. “The Caldwell one was a millimetre away from not getting done either. That’s Essendon: target a player, high quality, get him in the door, and then not (be) prepared to stump up the price to actually facilitate the deal.” Relating to Hately, who the Giants will now get no return for losing, McCartney said a sour taste had been left by the Crows. “We knew there was a threat there of the pre-season draft ... we were honest with Adelaide right from the word go, he was a Pick 14 two years ago, we thought he was a pick in the 18 to 25 region and closer to 25 in all fairness,” he said. “They weren’t willing to get anywhere near that deal, which was really disappointing considering some of the deals we’ve done with Adelaide over the last two years. “It was left way too late by Adelaide to facilitate something on the night.”
  7. What do you think of Jake Bowey? Looked good to me in that that futures game. On the small side at 175cm but plays wing and has some real zip and looks a really good kick. Exactly what we need.
  8. Great pickup on so many levels. North rebuilding and they would rather use his money elsewhere. Fair enough. Devalued his trade value and we were the ones to benefit. Thank you. Spoke very well in the media interviews. Will keep the number 50. Looks good in the red and blue polo. Look forward to seeing him in action.
  9. I am glad Tom wasn't traded in the end. Still have hope he can recapture something injury free.
  10. Yes Carlton stuffed up there. They should of split pick 8 early in the trade period for a couple of later picks. Then the Bombers would have had no choice but to accept one of them as the week went on. Holding onto 8 was a mistake. Essendon were the big winners on that one. Hopefully the Bombers end up forking out massive overs for Dunkley.
  11. A 3 year deal and for pick 33 would be a nice piece of business indeed
  12. Awesome work Gawndog98 Could I suggest a video of Sam Weideman? Watching Pickett's highlights you can see his work rate. Great work putting the fast forward in there when a player gets involved multiple times in the same passage of play. Never seen this before in highlights packages. Works really well. Great thinking!
  13. Did Rendell actually label our list Swiss cheese?
  14. Yes I would take him. Astute pickup. Fills our need much better than McKernan did in my opinion. Would be low pay and at 29 could fill the insurance role for a few years if required.
  15. I thought we would wait on trading Preuss until we see what picks GWS have after they ship a few of their players out - Caldwell and Cameron.
  16. Josh ‘Dodoro’ Mahoney We normally deal quick but might be a good idea to deal with Preuss, Hannan and most likely TMac first and see what picks we have after that.
  17. I’d be keen on Treloar but not sure we would offer him 5 years (as per his current contract). Our midfield is already full and we don’t have enough minutes to give to everyone now. Couldn’t see Treloar coming unless we traded out a mid. Brayshaw would be the one I guess. Not sure how I feel about that but maybe we need to do something ballsy to make things happen. Our midfield would be heaps better balanced with this change.
  18. Yes very interesting quote indeed. I assume the dealings may have gone something like - Brissy first offer was 600k a year for 4 years. Dodoro goes no make it $700k a year for 3 years. That will give us pick 7 and we won’t force you to trade for him. We both win.
  19. Round 1 compensation is a absolute farce. Secret formula what a joke. Makes me a bit sick to be honest.
  20. With Geelong's Dad's army approach surely some of their younger players will look to move on. Lachlan Forgarty would be the one I would be chasing. Contracted until 2021 but has only played a handful of games in the last 2 seasons (maybe injuries, I dont know enough) . I like him as a player. Smallish type but moves well. Mid half forward type. Would add nicely to our mix.
  21. He is ok but 29 years old. A no for me
  22. Happy with this Lockhart next please
  23. Smith is 29 next year. Couldn't be worth more than a 3rd rounder for a club that is rebuilding. Tmac might get us this pick needed. ANB might be used here also. Brown for pick 23 GWS will have a number of picks around that 9-15 mark after Williams, Cameron and Caldwell all get traded. I can see us packaging up a few picks (not necessarily next years 1st as I think this is overs) with Preuss and maybe another player (VDB maybe) to get one of these picks.
  24. Higgins has some serious footy smarts. I know he has was out of the side this season late but I would be surprised if the Tigers traded him under contract. Looks a future star and just a natural footballer to me. I would love him at the Dees but part of me thinks if they did offer him up for trade maybe they might know something we don't.
  25. Ed Richards would be handy and maybe he is gettable. Contracted next year but he might be after a change. He moves well but doesn't get that much of it and I suppose he hasn't really improved that much in his 3 years in the system. I'd take him - could go ok on the wing. Couldn't see the Saints parting with Jack Billings. Would demand good coin too.
