Under the current system this is our best option. Whether it’s Lobb is debatable, but given that Forwards who can give a competent chop out in the ruck are extremely hard to find, Lobb is worth considering. Failing that, is it Van rooyen ? Perhaps our biggest deficiency is the lack of quality small forwards. None are instinctive crumbers, most lack speed and they’re not that good at applying defensive pressure. The exception is Pickett, who is inconsistent and too often wasteful. Toby Bedford would have been a very nice keep.

Possible Left field option, at least for part of the game ? Both Gawn AND Grundy on the ground at the same time, Max playing a kick behind the play with Grundy rucking. Max to take the Centre bounces. IMO Gawn has played some of his best football in this role.
