  1. Long, long time ago I was at the game were John “Sam” Newman was injured due to receiving a knee to his back. I have read that due to the good fortune of his Father being in the empty changerooms with him meant immediate action being taken which averted him bleeding to death. He lost a kidney and has lived 57 years with only one. Get well Christian.
  2. OK, but who takes the blame for the shortfall?
  3. The equivalent of Marcel Marceau, never says anything but sure does like the emoji buttons, especially the Face palm. Very enlightening 👌 One of Goodwin’s “True Believers” , a club whose membership is dwindling by the day.
  4. Please let’s see Sestan, Tholstrup and Fullarton. Surely Petty has to be omitted on form. Turner, Billings, Laurie don’t look up to it. Chandler, Sparrow, Oliver and Fritsch have unsatisfactory and should be dropped even just to make a statement but the cupboards bare so they’ll stay in.
  5. I fully expect Goodwin will stick to his Tried and true formula ie Blind faith in his favourite 23.
  6. Disagree, however whilst his endeavour can’t be questioned, he is not, and never been the +A grade player that many MFC supporters think he is, ie one sided who is an ordinary kick.
  7. We’ve gone All In on Contested ball with the end result usually being a stoppage in our over crowded forward 50, Goodwin has nothing else. That Tired and well exposed game plan won’t cut it anymore.
  8. In the scheme of life, One could say that the timing of a Team announcement has zero importance. Outsiders would say who cares, be patient, knowing early won’t affect the result. Hard to argue. However, the AFL and each club’s existence is acutely reliant on the passion of Club supporters. Passion creates interest, starve the interest at pay the price. It’s not like the Game will survive on the spectacle only. IMO, the Suits at the AFL and MFC have bugger all idea.
  9. Struth, there’s an “Ignore button” ? Please tell me how to find it.
  10. Well said. You don’t have to be a member of the Cheer Squad to be a die hard loyal supporter, nor a prolific poster on Demonland. Go Dees
  11. I’d like to see Oliver out in some space. Playing him on a wing gives him more space plus might take some pressure off him. In addition, in a one on one in space, even in his current form, he would win most contests, resulting in building his confidence. He could be a real weapon for us in that situation. Rivers into the guts to replace him.
  12. Sparrow Hasn’t come on Petty Thoughts of Adelaide Chandler Love an Upgrade Salem Dynamic he’s not MFC Soul searching required
  13. What about Viney to stand next to him all game as a defensive forward ?
  14. We need someone to go with / run with / tag, call it what you like, Nick Daicos. Very few on the list have the defensive mindset plus the speed to do it. Judd McVee is one who can.
  15. The DNA of today’s performance goes back pre season 2022. The elephant’s been in the room since then. This team, IMO, fell for the tap of thinking they could turn the tap on ( resulting in quick succession of goals) when whenever the felt like it. Whilst it made for spectacular viewing it had a underlining arrogance to it. Supporting that mindset was Goodwin’s and the FD’s Blind faith in the Game plan, the players abilities and the overall quality of the list. It was clear to see due to the sameness and lack of innovation, the reluctance to change during games and even in list management. Strangely, we all have something to look forward too, a line in the sand moment. That is the Players and FD response, not just for next week v Collingwood, but ever game for the rest of the season until there is no more. Lack of an appropriate response should demand very serious changes off season. On the other hand a Flag may still result. Over to you Simon Goodwin and the 23 that run out each week.
  16. Don’t worry, some will try.
  17. That’s the word, Arrogance. Like an Elephant the room since post 2021. One very small positive is, the ‘True Believers’ might now consider taking their One Eyed Blinker off.
  18. Highly dubious 50 metre penalty v Rivers Umpire No 32 Jacob Mollison
  19. Umpire No. 10 Robert O’Gorman
  20. Jackson marks 20 metres in the clear, top of the square. ZONE Defence working well today , /s Any chance of Man on Man ?
  21. Whilst not blaming this pathetic performance on the Umpires, aren’t people allowed to comment on poor decisions ?
  22. Umpire No.10 Robert O’Gorman They should be named. The AFL won’t like it though.
  23. 100% Blind Faith bordering on stubborness 0% Creativity / innovation If there’s ever a time to break your stereotype, it’s right now.
  24. Yes, perhaps that’s a by-product of valuing Effort (contested possession) over every other facet.
  25. And those games, and no doubt some others as well, MFC have played “a Man short”.
