  1. I first saw the Demons in 1967 after barracking for them for the previous few years. Don’t question my loyalty based on ONE post which you appear to have read Out of context. My comment was about Bedford, Neal Bullen ,2022 not being as successful as 2021 and B&F’s not being an indicator of ultimate Team success. No where did I criticise Goodwin.
  2. Putting up a graphic of the B&F, is that the best you’ve got ? Strange argument, don’t all clubs have B&F’s ? , even Wooden spooners. No correlation with the eventual outcome of a teams season. Noting your numerous comments in other topics, you seem very content to sit on the laurels of 2021. If everyone had that attitude it will be another long wait of 57 years.
  3. Totally agree, but think of the upside we gained. :- ANB was able to rack up more of those all important and valuable ‘Pressure Act’ ranking points.
  4. Your “last reply”, Thank God. Your wish is my command YOUR LORD. Self proclaimed “LORD” Perhaps if I may respectfully suggest Your Lord, maybe you could consider just disagreeing with another opinion without the need to ridicule it. We both could have saved a couple of days of sparring. Good night, Good bye.
  5. Thanks for the info, I’ll check it out. I’ve been watching Orson interviews on YT in the last few days. TTM, my No.1, IMO it has 3 of the All time best scenes in film history, Harry coming out if the shadows is One of them, the final scene and the ferris wheel the others. re. Grundy, at first I was horrified but have come around to now think it’s the right move. Agree that we may have seen the best of Max and perhaps even the end may be sooner than anybody thinks, lets hope not. The concept of (a fit) Gawn/Grundy may even prove to be a master stroke particularly if used in tandem with Max rucking in the defensive half ( kick behind the ball ) where he has played some of his best footy (imo) and Grundy taking the centre square and a more traditional ruckman role. At the very least, it’s a major point of difference to all of our opposition.
  6. Fair enough, it’s just I can’t cop ANB.
  7. Nice spot, well done, not many would know of Harry these days. Are you a connoisseur of said movie ?
  8. Those nights you talk of , most likely wouldn’t be celebrating a recent premiership. Are you saying that it’s OK for players to continue the celebrating right through 2022 ? If so, would you still argue that would not have had an negative affect on the 2022 season ? So when is the honeymoon over and it’s time to return to work ( after a Premiership ) ?
  9. In Finance it’s known as Ponzi scheme.
  10. Very convenient for you to match Fritsch against Rohan instead of CAMERON.
  11. Stengle 53 goals (25 games) Neal-Bullen 9 goals (23 games)
  12. Imagine the difference of having Stengle and Close this year instead of ANB and Spargo.
  13. My recollection is based on events like the one below and numerous others like it. Note the date, 22nd/24th of JANUARY , 4 MONTHS after the GF. Were you aware of these events ?
  14. 1. My recollection differs, I believe it was a group of six or so players at a time with Goodwin included sometimes. 2. Perhaps try reading what I said more carefully, ie “done and dusted” by November (((( for the players/coaches at least )))) The celebrations could have continued without them. The cup being centre of attention. 3. Whilst the Premiership was coveted even more than normal, considering 57 years of disappointment for long suffering fans, myself included, I don’t recall other premiership clubs going to the same public extent of celebration. 3. If it had any affect on the outcome of 2022 [ mindset ] ( I believe it may have ) I’m quite sure that most fans would have happily forgiven the players for cutting short their celebrations/ commercial venture ( I suspect ) instead of now having the strong sense of disappointment and feeling the club under achieved this year. PS . Everyone has , and is , entitled to their opinion. In the infrequent / minimal number of posts I’ve submitted, I don’t believe I’ve told someone their opinion was a “ridiculous call”. I believe I have been respectful of others , and will continue to do so, you being the exception however. PS. Don’t bother ‘face palming’, if you have something to say it.
  15. Late last year I was concerned about the apparent ‘never ending’ Premiership celebratory caravan that toured the State. Recollect it went into the new year (?) Should been done and dusted by the start of November (for the players/coaches at least)
  16. Would love Tomlinson for Buku Khamis, 1000/1 of it happening though.
  17. Nice idea, worth a try,, we certainly need more run off half back.
  18. Each to their own. For mine, his best moments this year were in the last minutes against Carlton, winning the ball near the centre, using his pace and getting it in deep. His worst moments were getting caught out in a one in one marking contest as the last defender as well as losing his man at a stoppage near goal.
  19. Play him on the opposite Wing to Langdon. Use his speed to our best advantage. Too shaky in one on ones in defence.
  20. Ruck Rover Starting 4 Gawn , JACKSON , Oliver , Petracca
  21. The old “robbing Peter to pay Paul” scenario. Maybe Turner ( has scope) might only cover, say 75% of Petty down back, but Petty might just be a 100% improvement on the mess that has been the 2022 forward line. Overall, that would be a significant win. At least try Petty as a swing man type, to me he has a similar style to one of the best in Terry Daniher. Develop Petty and Van Rooyen as our primary key forwards next year and we might just be able to lock down those positions for the next 8 years.
  22. I really like Spargo’s ball use and creativity. What I don’t like is you don’t see it often enough. I also don’t like that he can’t crumb a goal, can barely kick 45 and is a dodgy shot for goal.
  23. Can’t disagree with any of the above. I’d like to add, - VINEY should 1. not start in the centre square 2. IMO should not be considered in the best 5 midfielders we have ( too many limitations ) Therefore we need to bring in 2 quality midfielders. .3. Perhaps he is best used as a negating midfielder. - HUNT is not a defender, play him in a more attacking role, either on a wing or half forward, if not, move him on. PETTY, whilst he has the capacity to be in the best 3 tall defenders in the game, I think he best used by us as a forward, therefore 2023, it’s Petty & VanRooyen key forwards. No room for B. Brown. Desperately needed, another quality small forward to combine with Pickett, neither Spargo nor Neal-Bullen do enough in this role. Not best 23 for 23. Shop SALEM around. GAWN looks worn out, maybe carrying injury or maybe he’s on the downward spiral, so getting Grundy might be the right call after all.
