  1. Jeff Gleeson KC AFL Tribunal Chair FWIW A brief browse of the internet shows 1. Senior counsel for Racing Victoria during the Cobalt positive saga. Racing Victoria was widely criticised for it’s handling of the long running matter. 2. Independent Commissioner for the ‘Melbourne Response’. A scheme set up by the Catholic archdiocese to compensate victims of sexual abuse. The Melbourne Response was “criticised by the Royal Commission” Oh, and allegedly he is a Collingwood supporter.
  2. Yes, Gather Round is a great example of their bluff. Despite what the AFL, the kowtowing media and the SA government say, the end result is, a lot of people are not able to see their team play in person. But it is great for football we’re told. Shows you where the average supporter ranks in their priorities.
  3. Too true. The AFL almost totally relies on , and always has, the support people have for their clubs. Burn those people, by creating and overseeing an unfair completion combined with the unlikely prospect of seeing their team win a premiership in person, at the peril. They are deluded. The current quality of the spectacle is not that good. It’s about Club loyalty and always has been.
  4. Surely the AFL is playing a dangerous game of cynically relying on peoples loyalty to their Clubs for continued support while they insult the same people with their farcical management, zeal for woke agendas and contentment of allowing an uneven/unfair competition. The game is in disarray despite being told otherwise. Cameron, Butters,Pendlebury, score review farce, Goal umpires who appear to have no idea, COI crypto currency advertising, Concussion, the bump, standard of umpiring, Gather Round, Finlayson, pushing woke causes, and that’s just in the last couple of weeks. Similar rubbish has been going on back to the days of Demetriou. If it wasn’t for the MFC being a big part of my life for 6 decades, I wouldn’t have anything to do with the rotten AFL.
  5. Add to that , the option of Petty going Back. Where they play him will most likely be decided by the form/ fitness of Brown and McDonald ( Van Rooyen less part of that discussion as he is required as the relief for Gawn ) When ready, Petty comes in, at this stage most likely for McDonald ( unlucky ).
  6. If only you could have posted that in 2022 or 2023, We would have all been much, much happier. Better late than never I suppose. Let’s see if/ how long the new found creativity and preparedness to change things up lasts. 🤞
  7. In time when Petracca and Oliver start to decline, McVee will be rated our best player. Guy McKenna Mk11
  8. Tomlinson stiff to be dropped if it was only about form. The problem is the match up on any of their 3 talls looks highly concerning. He not quick enough, non nimble enough for Naughton or Ugle Hagen and Lobb would get him on the lead as well as giving him trouble up the ground and in the air.
  9. Yeah, It’s not new, we tried that with Diamond Jim Tilbrook , only problem was it was during actual matches for 4 points. He did kick it to the centre after a kick- in though.
  10. Could someone check the stat’s to see if Rhino Richards has set new record in the category :- “Using Face palm and Vomit ‘emoji’s without actually posting a single comment”. I think he goes very close to Drysdale Demon’s record. Thanks in advance.
  11. Premiership coach Beveridge 2016, now 8 seasons ago. How long do you give them ?
  12. There’s an old fashion footy term known as “ the one-eyed supporter” . I image everyone knows what that means and their characteristics do not need explaning. All clubs have them. Loyalty on steriods. Their club and their players could never, ever do anything wrong. Joffa @ Collingwood comes to mind. Many Demonland members do not like the Joffas from other clubs and are quick to criticise them. They think, take your eye patch off. Just my opinion , but there are too many Red and Blue Joffas on this site.
  13. Re: Essendon Drug scandal / media attention. Phew, that’s a relief , after reading the said comment I thought I was the one who must have been living on a different planet.
  14. Until Daniel Turner is available, I like Schache for the role. I seem to recall the WB’s played him there out of the blue one game. Was one of the best and totally negated his opponent. For some reason they never persisted with him in the role. He can also give Gawn a chop out when required in the D50. PS. Try Clayton Oliver on a wing.
  15. Yes, it seems all too common from the Social media pages of large/high profile businesses, they treat their customers like mugs, often you need to be a ‘mind reader’ to understand their inane captions. The people who post this rubbish seems to be immature teenagers who go about their ‘work’ unsupervised. I say make them accountable, get them to put their names to their work, the same as Print journalists. Perhaps then standards will be driven upwards for fear of embarrassing themselves.
  16. Yes Petty is a star, could be the best swingman since Terry Daniher however if he doesn’t see himself as a LONG term Demon then I think it’s the right time to consider a trade. Petty may finish as a better player than Van Rooyen, maybe not, but considering all things, including injury concerns, Petty should be the one for possible trade. However only if a great deal is offered that includes a KP forward ie. Pick 10 and Fogarty Plus McAddam. ps. If we are so keen on Harley Reid but don’t have the capital, why not use it to prise an existing young midfielder like Jai Newcombe 22yo.
  17. And McAddam, at the very least.
  18. I agree. Otherwise, As it sits right now, how do we pay for McAddam and Fullarton with only P41 ?
  19. I’d like to see Clayton Oliver have a change of roles which allows him to be released into more space. IMO he would be even more damaging and it should allow him to use the ball better as well.
  20. Under the current system this is our best option. Whether it’s Lobb is debatable, but given that Forwards who can give a competent chop out in the ruck are extremely hard to find, Lobb is worth considering. Failing that, is it Van rooyen ? PS : If the AFL were committed to the development of young Ruckmen , I believe they should allow for a separate substitute for a reserve ruckman during a game to cover for injuries.
  21. Berry, one of the dumbest footballers going around and extremely overrated.
  22. Great photo, however l’m surprised the club didn’t make the effort to provide all of the names with the article.
  23. No Plan B, or c or d, never had one. No creativity, no imagination, no dare. Plenty of Blind faith and most likely, ample amount of stubborness.
  24. For a start, I don’t think Viney should start there. One sided and lacks breakaway speed.
