  1. That ‘22 pick would want to have been upgraded to a pick comfortably inside the first 10 for us to send a 2nd back the other way.
  2. Thanks @Whispering_Jack. Would love to see Tsatas bolting up and down the wing for us. He probably sits just behind Cadman on my list of players I’d like to see drafted by Melbourne this period (Sheezel around the mark too).
  3. I’m still trying to get my head around the Dogs pitch to Lobb. They’ve told him that they want him to be their no.1 forward target. I don’t get it.
  4. ChaserJ replied to DV8's topic in Melbourne Demons
Isn’t part of the issue here that apart from individual base remuneration and incentives, player contracts are standardised (agreed by AFL & AFLPA)? If these clauses allow termination (rather than provide financial incentive) the whole applecart gets turned over.
  5. Thanks for sharing @chook fowler. Can you share whether the player was from Melbourne or were they from the Dogs?
  6. Fagan did have an opportunity to provide comment: https://twitter.com/rustyjacko/status/1572564608954826752?s=20&t=-k9Rg1BQiwXtqrdZX7nVhQ
  7. Surely you could trade for Bowes & his ‘expensive’ 2 years and then negotiate an extension which balances out the deal over a longer period?
  8. That may have been the best champs game I’ve seen. The standard in that last quarter was very high.
  9. Has looked very good. Moving up from the edge of the first round methinks:
  10. And a finding would be made on balance of probabilities and the reliability of the accounts which would be assessed by the panel. There appears to be a sizeable number of accounts already provided as well as those yet to be ascertained, in order to make an informed assessment. On Hawthorn initiating the investigation, it was commissioned in response to the Cyril revelations earlier in the year. That should have been the end of Kennett then and there, but he’s still quietly transitioning out of the role.
  11. Russell Jackson is one of the finest journalists in the country and broken some of the biggest stories in recent times. No question on his sources and veracity of his story. This is a shameful story and can only hope it leads to a positive inflection point for society at large. The depths that clubs have ‘allegedly’ plumbed to achieve success continue to shock.
  12. Further to this, Alwyn Davey could go anywhere from 15 to 25, meaning that 22 could well go & Bombers might want some points to match the f/s bid. I would be quite happy with MFC bidding on Davey with p13/14, his pace & skill wouldn’t go astray in our fwd line.
  13. One of three that came to mind when I heard that GC might be willing to trade out players that you wouldn’t expect to see on the block. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Flanders go as well. Joel Jeffrey the one I’d be keen on getting out (unlikely, especially now that Rankine is out).
  14. Pies have delisted the Brown brothers and Liam McMahon. McMahon was a 2nd round pick on potential in 2020, 198cm forward with a good leap. Pies are very conscious of cap space, think McMahon would be a good rookie candidate to see if he can develop into a low cost fwd option.
  15. Well, this thread got weird.
  16. Hotton was very good again tonight. Should go in that 10-20 range, would love him at the Dees.
  17. Good point, the anti density rules in U18s make it a very different ball game when compared to AFL level defensive setups.
  18. Cadman is a 196cm mobile, competitive type. The Jeremy Cameron comps come from his capacity to work higher up the ground and get touches. Regularly picked up 18 to 20 touches in the back end of the NAB League season and popped up with big marks and goals in important moments. Improving below his knees (not a giraffe) could be cleaner. His inside 50 play is similar to Harry McKay (including some technical issues with kicking). Good distance on his kicks, can spray them. Seems a really good kid, willing to learn. Has improved a lot this year, particularly with reading the ball in flight. Think he’s well and truly the best kpf in the draft pool.
  19. Ashcroft (mid and f/s to Lions) George Wardlaw - inside mid compared to Clarry Elijah Tsatas - speedy mid, can go inside, good kick Aaron Cadman - key forward, compared to Jeremy Cameron and Harry McKay Harry Sheezel - medium forward, highly skilled, compared to Stevie J or Toby Greene
  20. Richmond are creating a nice cluster of players in Bolton’s age group. Chips have been moved from Dusty/Cotchin/Riewoldt as the centrepiece of the list.
  21. Heeney when up forward.
  22. No, but they did ask our question of ‘what do you love about playing for Melbourne’? Riv answered first (fans, soaking up the atmosphere after a win), Jacko looked slightly uncomfortable whilst waiting to answer and essentially answered ‘same as Riv’, went on to say loves the fans and his teammates.
  23. Turner or Smith. I like Thommo too, but he’s probably at a stage in his career where he can probably win one more contract, but he needs to be playing. His contract is also one I look at on our list with the thought ‘we’re clearly overpaying for the role that player is playing’. It’s a win/win if he finds a new club.
  24. Work meetings meant I couldn’t get on till midday, managed to get 5 seats in M54. Very much feels like lucky dip with Ticketek. That said, stoked that I’ll be able to take the kids to their first finals games.
