  1. Hope Judd does stay. Probably our best user of the footy. Doesn’t get the credit he deserves outside of our club which means I think we would get unders for him. I’m not as across players wages but given he was on the rookie list I’m assuming he wasn’t in massive coin. It’s time for his agent to earn his coin and get Judd a good deal- if he gets offers on the table from the WA clubs it pushing up what we will have to pay to keep him.
  2. If Warner wanted out of Sydney to go to WC you’d think Sydney would be a chance to throw a big offer at Petracca.
  3. Windsor to defence?? Is this something that has been picked up by our track watchers? Also seemed to think XL would be more likely to play wing than half back. Interesting if true.
  4. Let’s not waste our energy or time hoping we will in any way shape or form get aggressive with the Pies to make up for what’s happened in the past couple of season. Going of last season we are more likely to give them hugs and kisses than bumps or hard tackles. Harvey Langford is the only good thing to come out of our recent games against the filth.
  5. Have only watched small amount of Aidan’s highlights but going off the above description it sounds like he plays the role Petty played for us last year to a tee. If he can chop out even a little bit in the ruck, crash packs and bring ball to ground it makes the decision to drop Petty back to defence this year an easier one. Be great to see him get some first team footy this year.
  6. On my way to work so have r got time to list all the players. I just went through our list and did a count of players I think need to have a better year this year than last. Didn’t count any new players. Reasons I think players should be better this year is due to injuries or poor form last year or natural progression. 21 players I think should really be hoping to have a better year this year. Clearly they won’t all improve and some older players that had a good season may regress. To be a finals team I feel that at least half of that number needs to have a better year.
  7. Great watch. One thing that stood out for me was how good it is for both of them to have mate/teammate to share the journey with. Makes thing a lot easier when it feels like there’s two of ye in it. Should make the transition to AFL that bit easier. Best of luck to both.
  8. I think both the role and who plays it will change over the course of the season as we get familiar with a new game style and some new faces. I’m pretty sure that Goody said last year that nearly all the players train to play more than one position. So players I think that will put some training into a ANB type role are Langdon, Sharpe and the Kolt. Langers putting time into learning how to play the role during preseason probably makes the most sense as he has nothing to learn about playing wing at this stage. Give Sharpe at shot at proving he can replace Langers on the wing and play Windsor on the other. Everything will need to be flexible and interchangeable until we work out our system and best 22.
  9. Now the positives- Is ready to go straight away, He's one of the best contested marks in the draft this year. Leadership which I think we were a bit lacking in our younger group. Thumping left peg but often lowers his eyes-will be a better inside 50 kick than any of our current mids. Like a goal, stands up in big games. Has great versatility. Tom Sparrow will probably looking over his shoulder more than anyone but I see him starting more as a mobile half forward, similar role to Jeremy Cameron. Would also dovetail very well with Trac. If required could also cover for Fritter. As you can see I'm quite the fan. Welcome Harvey
  10. Delighted with this pick. I would have taken him with pick one if we had it. Yes Lalor has a higher ceiling but Harvey is a safer bet and ready to go. Not at all as concerned as some about his 20 sprint time. I heard him interviewed earlier in the year and he said it’s the thing he has to work on the most. His 2km time trail is very good so he has good running ability. Putting too much time into speed in his draft year may have compromised his running ability and his performances. I expect it’s something that will improve once he has a couple of preseason under his belt.
  11. Takes Rivers spot in the backline for me. Will be interesting to see if we try Bowser in a different roll this year as I think Xavier and Judd will be our two preferred distributors out of defence.
  12. Interesting that he’s been linked along with the Berry. Seems a small forward is on our wish list. Starting to look like we will go with two mids, a tall and a small forward with our pick in draft and rookies
  13. This would clearly be the outcome that our recruitment would value the most as they must rate those two above everybody else that would be available to us at 5.
  14. 😂 that will learn me. Really hope we land him if just to give @Demonstone another player name he always has to correct.
  15. Fair enough Daz, I have read recently that you would be better than most recruiters anyways😂. I’ve tried not to get too hung up on any player this year after really wanting Curtain last year. Still I’m really hoping Langford is on the board for our first pick.
  16. Also stood up to be BOG in the biggest game of the year that had the vast majority of this years top ranked players playing in it.
  17. Lots of posters getting a bit nervous about the quality of the kids we have been linked with. Got to remember folks they are just kids and will improve in every facet of the game when they come into the system. JTs selection over the years especially with mids and flankers has been excellent, with 2 top 10 picks in a strong draft I have no doubt he will pick two crackers. Im just hoping Langford is still on the board at 5. I’d pick him if we had the number one pick( although I’ve come around to Smith a lot more too). Then if one or more of Tauru, Lindsay or Allen is left we really can’t lose.
  18. Good post and agree there’s nothing linking to us taking Allen at 5/6. But if Langford and Smith are off the board and Draper is still there, if we rate Tauru and Allen as the next two best players it might make sense to grab Allen first if we think it’s the best strategy to land both. 5- Allen 6-Smiley/Draper 7- Smiley/Draper 8- Travagila 9- Tauru GWS did it last year to get two players they wanted later in the first round.
  19. My take on it was we are not interest in Draper and would take Tauru before him. I assume we would take Smith if he was there and Langford was gone. I just assume Cal is off the belief that Carlton will take Smith.
  20. Can’t say I followed him in his draft year but RMC seemed to think there was room for improvement in his kicking consistency and it was put down as an area he needed to improve on. Lindsay is probably rated as the best kick in this draft or at least top 5. He will also go much earlier than Houston and Gulden. He’s ball use an excellent.
  21. I wonder how the club rates each player coming through each draft. Do we mark them out of a maximum score?! With a certain amount of points being available for different abilities and attributes. Say skill level, athletic ability, character and so on. I’m sure we must and we will never find out exactly but I’d love to know. Maybe a question for JT if he does the podcast again this year.
  22. I expect he won’t get nearly as many right this year but I’d be pretty shocked if he gets any of the top 5 wrong. If we get Langford I’ll be stoked.
  23. Going by their draft profiles neither Houstin or Gulden were thought to be great kicks at under age. Perhaps that’s why they went at 45&32 in their drafts. Lindsay's kicking is very good and will get better.
