  3. Jeremy McGovern always said he would have been happy as a “fat tradie” playing for Albany
  4. Nothing to read. No substance as usual

  6. https://thewest.com.au/sport/afl/a-six-pack-of-ipa-interesting-points-allegedly-fremantles-michael-walters-the-afls-best-set-shot-kick-c-11234211 "Melbourne and Brisbane will this week play each other for the fifth time since round 15 last year, a run which includes the Lions’ semifinal upset win last September. Thanks to the AFL’s unbalanced fixture, there are five different pairs of clubs that are yet to meet a single time during that span. The Western Bulldogs haven’t played West Coast or Essendon at any point in that time period, while there have also been no match-ups for Carlton against Port Adelaide, Collingwood against Hawthorn, and Gold Coast against GWS." Just shows how ridiculous the fixture for the number 1 sport in Australia is. Major sports around the world must laugh at AFL fixturing, if they even care what happens down here at the ars* end of the world. Why can't we have less games where teams play each other once (rotate the home match every second year) and supplement it with a state of origin tournament? Surely a fixture like that is less comprised and "unbalanced".
  7. He should be dropped
  8. So why can't they train at Victoria Park and leave us on Gosch's?
  9. That's funny because I saw Collingwood training on Gosch's Paddock this morning. Maybe they got kicked off their AIA Centre (the old Olympic Park) for the World Cup and in turn, kicked us off Gosch's Paddock?
  10. Adrian Burns for Essendon was filth. Elbowed Jimmy in the head that day. Then broke the collarbone of our GM Alan Richardson in the 1990 semi (in a sling tackle) which caused him to miss the premiership win for Collingwood that year
  11. Yeah a few fights that day on the hill with the ferals. Scary place for kids
  12. Sometimes it looked like DB kicked the ball higher than longer:
  13. Does anyone remember the long kicking comps they used to have before grand finals? Pretty sure DB won it one year with a kick from the centre circle at the G. Longest kick I have ever seen, other than the one by Jeff Fehring. Wonder how DB would fare against another Melbourne great, Fred Fanning, who supposedly drop kicked the ball 105 metres during the 1939 grand final.
  14. Extraordinary. It was a bloody miracle we won in 2021. Maybe we should train at Joondalup Arena in Perth every finals series
  15. Absolutely nothing to worry about Praha. Hill, Battle, Ross will all be missing. And they looked pretty sh*t in Perth
  16. Please not the dreaded syndesmosis
  17. How many out of bounds on the full last year?
  18. What about goals from free kicks? We must be down near the bottom of that
  19. What do you think happened to Clarry in the past 6 hours, Kev? *Sorry, ignore
  20. This reminds me of a recent thread on Demonland:
  21. Don't worry, Eagles will improve under a new coach. And with some premiership players coming back from injury, they should have less beltings. The fixture is compromised regardless. Always has been in the AFL era, always will
  22. Was always a VFL player at best, unfortunately
  23. And 32% in reserves (WAFL). Something has to give
  24. I guess so. Let's just hope one team, one day, can wipe away both records in one foul swoop
