  1. And yet less than 800 people turned up to his public memorial service at the MCG almost 10 years ago. So sad for the best, most graceful and most loyal Demon ever
  2. 3 weeks. And as most of us know, the biggest thug of all Leigh Matthews got zero weeks for this:
  3. And remembered for being KO'ed on the wing at the G by another thug
  4. The VFL website as a whole is a joke. Within the site, you can't even navigate to the detailed ladder page (that has to be done via a search engine). Even funnier, if you search on google for the VFL fixture using your phone and then click through, you end up on the AFL fixture
  5. What about the findings against Russell Jackson, the ABC and Phil Egan? Or are they immune from publishing such one-sided defamatory material?
  6. No, it wasn't Gudnik or Gutnick. He was ousted as Club President in 2001 and up until then Olympic Park was in the hands of Athletics Victoria/Australia until Brumby, McGuire and Fildes did secret deals to obtain it for Collingwood in 2008. Ignoring his business failings, Gutnick deserves a life membership for helping Melbourne survive during the wretched merger period and pumping millions of dollars of his own money (or someone else's!) into the Club.
  7. It was actually Max King's fault. He clearly pushed Jack Buckley in the back who then fell forward into Owens, whose head was collected by Caminiti's knee. Would be good to see umpires starting to pay free kicks against star forwards and blatant cheats like King, Lynch, Hawkins, etc. but it will never happen

Including that rat Powell who casually went over to pick up the ball, when Ballard was lying on the ground, to ensure that he got another kick for his stats and SuperCoach profile

And what a great mark it was:

It died almost 20 years ago when the bump was outlawed

And ironically the same guy that started this whole mess of high contact suspensions: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/devolution-of-the-bump-20200717-p55cww.html
  12. At least we have been kicking goals:

No such thing as "better" umpires. Even their most experienced (Rosebury, Stevic, Meredith, Chamberlain, Nicholls) made some awful calls on the weekend. Unfortunately the real problem is some of the rules are completely open to interpretation and discretion (e.g. mark and stand, protected area, holding/grappling a key forward, prior opportunity, etc.). And matters are made worse by having 4 different opinions on these rules now

And don't forget first time to tribunal (e.g. Trengove, Nibbler, etc.). You need to be a marquee AFL identity and serial offender like Franklin, Tom Lynch, etc. to avoid suspension
  15. Ditterich. Twice import, once export
  16. Finally. It's incredibly annoying driving 1 hour to the game through traffic and then arriving at the car park only to find it full and then having to park 30 minutes away from the ground by foot
  17. Yes, the SANFL has been very kind to us: Pickett, Petty, Chandler, Nibbler, Sparrow. Must have a very good scout over there
  18. Funny story about how Clarry got rejected by the Tiges and the Swans: https://www.zerohanger.com/why-are-you-so-fat-for-melbournes-clayton-oliver-details-pre-draft-meeting-with-afl-club-talks-almost-landing-at-richmond-134845/
  19. Bit of an indictment on Gold Coast's recruiting. 12 years of concessions, high draft picks and zone access and all they can produce over the journey are 21 nominees

Funnily enough, during half time at the first Derby there at Optus, Virgin ran a spin-the-wheel promotion that gave one lucky fan the chance to score a free flight to a particular destination somewhere around the World. Guess what the poor fan won: a free flight from Perth to Kalgoorlie!

Expect to pay more for good seats then. Absolute rort at Optus: https://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/afl/price-of-attending-afl-games-at-optus-stadium-significantly-higher-than-mcg-as-cost-of-living-hits-families-c-9777082 One of their reserved seat memberships only costs $1675

They go on sale today at 1pm our time (AEDT). Cheer squad in bay 105
  23. Those matches in 2021 against Geelong were the exception. Generally speaking, his set shots on goal aren't great. Hope he can kick more goals than points, something he hasn't done in home and away since 2016
