  1. He can't be serious. Their taxpayer funded HQ only opened a couple of years ago, complete with an altitude training room with 45 wattbikes. There is nothing at Casey or AAMI that gets close to it. Has he seen both club facilities recently?
  2. Could be classed "average" based on the number of games played, perhaps? Just from the naked eye, in my opinion, Turner is a better mark than Petty
  3. Turner is a better mark in the forward line for me. Sort of shows up in the stats too:
  4. Out: Johnson, Laurie, Sharp, Langford In: TMac, Viney, Billings, Culley Turner must play in the forward line, Windsor on the wing ffs
  5. And Langford is too slow for the wing. Better rotating forward and in the guts. And yes, please put Windsor back on the wing 🙏
  6. 6 wins minimum. Should make the finals in November
  7. I don't want to sound critical of Jeff's excellent analysis but there were 4 shocking and uncharacteristic mistakes in there by Brisbane - Fort's dump miskick out of D50, Payne's fumble on the wing, Ashcroft's absolute clanger kick across goal and Payne's terrible 10m fluffed kick in their D50. Fagan will be livid with that last quarter. But I guess all of those mistakes were in part due to our pressure and set up behind the ball so we'll take it. Great last quarter Dees!
  8. JVR is the new Roger Dorn. One handed [censored]
  9. Tholstrup looks so disinterested. Clearly having a sook in the VFL. Going to be a long 3 years until his contract runs out
  10. A. Not currently - can change B. A few worth looking at in the VFL (McMahon, Garoni, Mason) and in the WAFL (Clarke, Hunter, May) C. Unknown quantity with uninspiring previous goalkicking stats in the WAFL
  11. Try the last 32 years! We have only had 2 decent key position forwards since then (Neitz and Hogan). And even now when it is patently obvious that we still don't have a good KPF, the club refuses to look at recruiting one in the mid season draft. Maybe we are gun shy after all the failed attempts at recruiting and developing one
  12. What about a key forward??!! We have had 2 decent ones (Neitz and Hogan) in the past 32 years. Hetherton or Ludowyke please!
  13. How long has he been "working on his fitness"? We've been saying this for almost 2 years now! He looked completely shot on the weekend. He did a good job on Newcombe but it will be an absolute disaster if he has to tag this weekend against better running midfielders in Neale, Ashcroft, McCluggage and even Dunkley. He won't be able to keep up
  14. Doubt it. Viney out again this week
  15. Extraordinary: https://thewest.com.au/sport/afl/afl-footy-boss-laura-kane-considering-building-a-training-venue-for-west-coast-and-fremantle-in-melbourne-c-18635580 "The AFL is investigating the option of building a specialist training venue for travelling clubs in Victoria to end the problem of them constantly searching for an oval to prepare for their games at Marvel Stadium and the MCG."
  16. And a key forward. Archie Ludowyke kicked another 2 for the AFL Academy today
  17. Finally won the tackle count! Effort, effort, effort. And it's amazing what message is sent to the rest of the group when big name players are dropped. Go Dees!
  18. Sorry, missed that. Still, a 1 second brief mention of the most integral guy in a 30 minute interview
  19. Barry Prendergast says hello
  20. Didn't hear Scott mention Stephen Wells once, the person most responsible for Geelong's list over the past 30 years. Still can't believe he picked a kid (Humphries) at #63, whose last game before being drafted was in the WAFL ressies GF. Nor picking up Atkins, Blicavs, Close, J.Henry, Z.Guthrie and Dempsey all in the rookie draft. Wells is the real mastermind
  21. Yeah pretty easy to attract players when you have $300m+ worth of facilities paid for by the taxpayer
  22. 5 games into his third season and he has effectively taken only 1 contested mark so far this season. That is a massive concern for a KPF. Sure the delivery to him has been poor overall but there have been enough entries inside 50 (249 in total) to work with. He needs to go back to Casey and work on his marking and regain his confidence
  23. And the search for a decent KPF goes on.... 32 years since the debut of Neitz 7 years since trading out Hogan 2 days since the demise of JVR Potential option for the future, Archie Ludowyke. Kicked 3 goals against Richmond VFL on the weekend in a rep game from limited opportunity. As mentioned by @Chelly5 months ago, most likely a top 10 draft pick this year. How are we going to secure a top 10 draft pick for this kid?
