Answered your question though didn't it? He's pretty highly regarded as an assistant coach, especially in development. It's not going ti single handedly change our fortunes, but hardly think it's something to be complaining about given where we're at and how much we need experience around Goody in the box.

GAMEDAY (the ultimate): Rd 23 vs North Melbourne

Reasonably sure there's more to it than: Handball blind = Premiership. -
GAMEDAY (the ultimate): Rd 23 vs North Melbourne

Preseason Day 1: If you handball blind, especially over your heard, you're dropped. -
Yeah, not trying to paint it as the end of the world or a sign that we're falling apart, just putting the info out there as part of an overall picture of what's going on.

Don't know mate, all I've been told is that they've both held meetings with Mahoney to 'raise concerns'.
-
2013 at Port when they finished 5th.
-
Gus and his manager have held a similar meeting to the one reported about Petracca to voice their 'concerns' over how/where he's being played and the direction forward in general. Don't know anything more than that, so not suggesting he's asked for a trade by any stretch, but given the season hasn't finished these aren't the normal exit interviews, these are specifically requested meetings to voice concerns.

"Brisbane look set to face a battle in order to keep fringe player Tom Cutler beyond 2019, according to the Herald Sun. Victorian clubs are reportedly interested in acquiring the 24-year-old who has only managed three games this season despite a career-best year in 2018." Victorian clubs linked with young Lion

Like it. Has good development type experience, highly rated in footy circles and will provide a settled, wise head and experience to a coaching group sorely needing it. Taking it in the context as the first step of many this offseason I think it's a good move. Edit - Actually, second step after Burgess.
-
Was talk about it around then but nothing has been announced, and not sure why they would wait? It's not like it deserves a big build up? I'm not a Nibbler hater by any stretch, appreciate his work ethic and pressure, and provides handy depth.

Can totally understand where you're coming from, but as far as is known he's well rated as a football person and is experienced and level headed so it seems a good move to me. If we can add Richo, a great strategist and a proper forwards coach it seems a much better coaching group IMO.
-
Yeah for sure, but the impression I got is it's based more on his previous work at Port and Collingwood. And to be fair, he's not coming in as a strategist or list manager, and has held a senior assistant/coaching director role before.
-
Just gut feel, but would think he comes in to fulfill McCartney's original role.
-
Not legally allowed to unfortunately. It doesn't really say any more than that other than how he's rated as a good development coach so would suit us.
-
Appreciate how much of a loyal fan you are mate, but the facts (Misson's famous preseason injury report and now Lewis' comments) don't seem to align with your perception. I admire that you don't want to give them excuses as far as the injuries go, but it's just a reality of our situation and impacted our ability to have match simulation which would have included adjusting to the new rules. Those new rules also would have majorly effected our setup with the 2 players coming off the back of the square, something Jennings was not able to solve or innovate with and he now finds himself out of a job.

Melbourne close to signing Alan Richardson in key coaching role "Melbourne has ramped up its bid to win the services of former St Kilda coach Alan Richardson. The Demons are in the final stages of negotiations with Richardson about a key coaching role for next season. Football manager Josh Mahoney has led the Dees’ chase for Richardson and is on the verge of landing his signature."
-
Fair enough. I've heard he has good 'Buckets', but was just curious what sold you on him being a viable forward option for us. I'm not against a left field idea, just haven't seen him play much, let alone play forward.
-
Lewis has 4 flags. MFC has 0 flags for 55 years. Take your pick...
-
Not yet he hasn't.
-
Hey mate, not sure what any of that has to do with the point to be honest? The events Lewis is describing happened almost a year ago, so seems fair to say it's 'leaking' out now. All I've seen from you about preseason is that it all went great and it was totally uninterrupted. Doesn't seem like Lewis shares your view.

Might not have been rubber stamped yet, but you can lock it in. -

Would think we're at least planning for worst case scenario with sponsors leaving, less members, lower crowds and a horrible draw from a commercial perspective. -

Already lots of talk the GC have been approved for PP pick 2. Classic MFC luck. Reading between the lines a bit, it sounds like maybe we're asking for financial assistance rather than draft picks. "It is unclear exactly what the Demons will ask for however their crowd numbers have fallen dramatically during their dismal 2019 season, which will hurt their bottom line." Gold Coast, Melbourne reportedly to present to AFL Commission next Tuesday for help
