  1. Lewis has 4 flags. MFC has 0 flags for 55 years. Take your pick...
  2. Not yet he hasn't.
  3. Hey mate, not sure what any of that has to do with the point to be honest? The events Lewis is describing happened almost a year ago, so seems fair to say it's 'leaking' out now. All I've seen from you about preseason is that it all went great and it was totally uninterrupted. Doesn't seem like Lewis shares your view.
  4. Or the Tassie Devils given the story about the team coming on in 2022...
  5. Might not have been rubber stamped yet, but you can lock it in.
  6. Would think we're at least planning for worst case scenario with sponsors leaving, less members, lower crowds and a horrible draw from a commercial perspective.
  7. Already lots of talk the GC have been approved for PP pick 2. Classic MFC luck. Reading between the lines a bit, it sounds like maybe we're asking for financial assistance rather than draft picks. "It is unclear exactly what the Demons will ask for however their crowd numbers have fallen dramatically during their dismal 2019 season, which will hurt their bottom line." Gold Coast, Melbourne reportedly to present to AFL Commission next Tuesday for help
  8. Lewis whacks the coaches? “You don’t know what you don’t know, and you just think after a successful year it’s just going to happen again. “I think everyone’s found out from a tactical coaching point of view, from an athlete point of view, that that’s just not the case.” The harsh lessons from 2019: Lewis

Haha not bad. I'm guessing, but I think the percentages might be time spent in what area, whereas the heat map etc is the actual possessions?

    That's why I posted it...

McKay you mean? Isn't he a defender?

Ok, one last time... That is not what I implied. I have never said Misson's role was changed due to comments by a player parent. I've said his role was changed, which is an indicator of performance on the back of our injury management this year. I've said a player's parent complained about injury management, which is somewhat of an indicator of performance, but wouldn't be what the club bases their decision on. I'm not sure if you've just misinterpreted what I wrote or you're deliberately trying to keep this going now.

No, I did not imply Misson left the club as a result of that. I pointed out his role was changed midseason, which is clearly not a good sign. I've already explained this to you multiple times so clearly you're more interested in just having arguments on the internet with people you've got a problem with for some reason. I've tried to straighten things up and converse with you like a grown up but it seems you're incapable of that, so I'm moving on from this roundabout. Cheers.

Wasn't able to track down a 2018 heat map unfortunately, so that one is just this year. Gut feel is Trac has covered more area this year, last year being more based around high half forward. Definitely agree his role is a bit different this year, last year it seemed to me more like a connector between midfield and forward, whereas this year he seems more of a ground level player (exemplified by him leading the league for ground balls won inside 50).
  15. Yep, I took the same thing from it mate. Felt like more of a collective/cultural wack than a swipe at the leadership.
  16. He's one of a few intriguing names that are still uncontracted. Frost, Stretch (for different reasons) and ANB are the other ones for mine.

Let's agree to play nice hey? I wasn't talking about Misson leaving at the end of this year, I was talking about the fitness department reshuffle that happened simultaneously to the coaching reshuffle. You're welcome to view it differently, but the way I interpreted Mahoney's comments was that they were moving Misson to a more external role and moving other staff more into the player management roles. I have nothing against Misson, as I've stated previously, he's well regarded in the footy industry, but clearly whenever a football club is changing your role midseason things aren't going well (just ask Brendan McCartney). Perhaps it was just a matter of trying something different given our run of injuries this year.

Appreciate all the work mate, love this kind of post. What are your 'selected stats' though? As I reckon even the non-fans of Petracca would admit he's played better this year than last. Harmes has been ok this year, but would have though holistically he was far better last year. Not totally sold on the system mate. Petracca being rated in the top 3 general forwards this year by the AFL's Player Ratings also says he's been better this year. FWIW here's the heat map:
  19. Fair point, but how many times did we hear them say 'this will burn in our guts' or 'this will drive us harder' over the last 2 years? Clearly just saying what they thought people wanted to hear.

Fair enough mate, that's how you see it, I see it differently. That's footy hey. I think the list and the game plan are in for change this offseason. Cheers.

Come on mate. What reasoning do you have to justify that? The fact that he refused to chase this year? The fact he's had a horrendous year he hasn't been able to change? The fact he was dropped last year for poor training standards? Can't see any way at all that has any chance of happening. And wait until the season is a third over before deciding who will lead a famously directionless team? Not sure that's a great strategy.
  22. “Players may not have come back with the right attitude and the sense that finals was just going to roll around again." “They’ve been dealt a harsh lesson this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if the attitude was changed coming back to the pre-season.” Lewis questions Demons attitude in year from hell Some truth starting to leak out of the MFC now...
  23. I don't think it stems from that to be honest, but I don't really know much more than what I posted.
  24. He won't be staying with us. As I always say, take this as you wish as I'm a random guy on the internet, but he does not want to stay around the club as there is currently a bit of a division in the playing group that he's been involved in (he hasn't caused it or made it worse or anything, please note that).

Look, I'm not sure why you're now bringing up Hogan as an aside from Petracca in a thread about the next captain, but maybe we should move on as neither of us are going to change our minds. I think Petracca provides us with things we sorely lack, namely delivery inside 50 and ground balls inside 50, and is improving steadily as a player, you want to trade him for reasons I simply can not agree with. How about that next captain thing then hey?
