Just 12 months after attempting to break his contract but failing to find a suitor, Amon will spend the next week mulling over interest from clubs including Melbourne and St Kilda. AFL.com.au understands the Power have tabled a three-year offer to Amon with the belief he could still remain at Alberton. It comes after a career-best season in which the 24-year-old played 17 matches and forged his place in the Power's best line-up. The Demons have spoken openly about chasing outside ball users in the mould of Amon, while the Saints have been active in approaching talent from elsewhere. Dees and Saints circling Power mid

Get the feeling they'll get more help than just a priority pick. -

Don't see why people are so upset about it tbh. We can't say "don't give GC a priority pick, they're problems are cultural and bigger than just picks" with a straight face as MFC supporters can we? -
The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy

Sorry, could be my bad, just figured they would announce it tomorrow seeing they're deciding tomorrow. (Rumours were it was already decided a week or two ago anyway). -

Will be officially announced tomorrow apparently. -
Reviews are the new boot camps apparently...

A culture killing, always injured, key defender... Just what we need... ?♂️

Choco is apparently fairly close with Goody, it's even come out recently he put forward Goody's name to Essendon who then employed him. It would be hard to see all of Goodwin, Richardson and Williams in the same group, but you never know. He does need more experience around him IMO, but I'm not sure how the dynamic would be between the three.

Yeah, he probably takes some of the pressure off TMac and Weid, replaces Bull's spot on the list (heard he was possibly retiring?), and then gives Fritsch the freedom to jump on all of their backs.
-
Can't really decide if I'm keen or not, I guess for the right price he gives us some mature KPF depth, but will be 31 when next season starts. There's a fair bit of talk coming out of Adelaide football circles that we have now expressed an interest. It's the old mate of a mate, but the connection seems legit, so seems a fair chance to be true IMO. Doesn't guarantee we get him of course.
-
Yep, and as pointed out already, our inside 50 efficiency improved dramatically after Rawlings took over. Losing games doesn't mean every single thing is going wrong.
-
Given we improved at that end of the ground even with Weid, TMac and Bull mostly unavailable I reckon that shows why Rawlings is so highly rated as an assistant coach. I reckon it's unfair to just paint everyone with the same brush despite the facts.
-
Rawlings made a big difference to the forward efficiency. I don't remember the exact stat, but it was a huge difference in our scores per inside 50 after he took over. Yes we still lost games, but that one particular area did improve significantly.
-
Oh yeah, not trying to say he's been sensational, more just trying to tell people to lighten up on the criticism as some seem to enjoy going way overboard with it when the reality is not as black and white.
-
Is meeting with Collingwood as well apparently. Not sure if it is him personally, or just his management. Not saying he's gone of course, but it seems like it's more than just the usual manager posturing. Rumour of course, so you're welcome to believe or not.
-
Haha fair call when I read back what I wrote. Difference is I don't come here later and say 'I knew that but couldn't tell you', after things happen.
-
Yeah, there's still the odd occasion a contracted player stays. The Kelly one didn't really feel like they held him against his well and it was ugly or anything though. Not like the McCarthy one. Just seems like players (and their agents) have all the power now.
-
Yeah for sure, but what's happening this year now?...
-
Yeah that's fair mate. I guess I can just understand why they might get overly nervous about it and choose that road.
-
Fair enough, and he may have gone to the media even if things were perfect at the Dees, just passing on what I heard. I hope the fractures are mended. In the end, I'm just a fan and I want to see us win a flag.
-
Tricky for them though. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I'm sure as owners of the site where things are published they could possibly wear some of the responsibility for the things said here.
-
To be honest, I don't ask if they're breaking confidence by telling me things. I don't post everything I hear though and sometimes I'm asked to not pass particular things on and I don't. I understand you not believing me. I have no problem with that as I would be exactly the same. We'll just go round in circles though with this. Just decide you don't believe me and I'll be ok with that.
-
You never know, it may all get handled brilliantly and be the making of us. I'm holding out hope for that. Right now though, it's a real sinking feeling.
-
Fair comment. I totally understand that we're all anonymous fans on the internet, won't try and argue as I would feel the same. You're absolutely more than welcome to look through my past posts though and see I don't generally post things that are just made up or try and troll people with deliberately outlandish statements. Obviously I'm not going to say who has told me though, so of course scepticism will remain.
