Ruck depth
Sadly i think he's off to Geelong. Didn't he play for the Falcons as junior?

Missed a trick with Pick 42 and Schoenmakers.

Schoenmakers still there. Was almost a top 20 prospect.

Harley Reid
Yeah it was a dumb, short term view. Had they done the trade with us: They could have had Curtin, Thulstrop and one more firsts rounder next year. In effect doubling their high end talent. My gut feel is that they’ll do a Norf and hover round the spoon for another 2-3 years to get the first pick and additional compensation. That is probably their list strategy. Problem is, Reid will probably be home sick and tired of finishing last for 2-3 years consecutively and request a trade to Victoria.

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
Will he play next year? Good ball user and kick is HB territory and we definitely have a need there.

Got to worry about the kid not wanting to come down for the presentation. Probably just shy and what not but still.

Wilson or Tholstrup.

His Ratings don’t instil me with much confidence. Should have gone for Curtin.

Does anybody else have CC on Kayo? Never seen it before and don’t know how to turn it off.

Phantom Drafts 2023
Definitely not an easy call. So take Reid and then give us the bank for #6 i.e. F1 & F2. There is a generational player every year and having Pick 1 in 2024 draft or close to it would put us in the driver seat. No doubt the AFL will concoct a way to have the 2024 1st pick end up being 5 or 6 after compensation, Collingwood tax and some other non sensical bull dust.

Phantom Drafts 2023
I say we tell WC to trade #1 for 6,11,F1 or we will take Curtin at #6. WC F1 not going to cut it for mine. If Curtin is available at #11 we can then talk about a F1 pick swap.

And like GWS, they'll have a salary cap issue when the list is about to mature and pay dividends, so will have to let some of the key players go. I'd say in about 4-5 years time when the new draftees are about to sign the next contract, 1-2 of their stars will be offered a massive contract, which either Norf meet and cause more issues, or let the player go for more draft picks.

Daniel Curtin
True, but he is not plugging the gap those two left.

The straight sets red and blues
The unfortunate reality is this will overshadow everything else. The media will make sure of that. And it will add to an already high pressure environment that is finals.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 27th November, 2023
No bandaged knee. It’s a good sign for pre season at least. It would be fantastic if it held up through the season.

I think so too and I must say, I like these dirty tactics. I feel like WCE deserve it too, i mean who turns down 6,11,F1.. its a ridiculously good offer.

Phantom Drafts 2023
Some of the draft reviews use the "Similar to / Plays like" comparison, which i appreciate as we don't get to see a lot of how they play. Now this is only a style comparison and makes no secret that it doesnt equate to actual quality / effectiveness as they have yet to be proven. Which gets me to the plays comparison of the players we have been linked to and will likely be available around our picks. If we can assume that they will be in the ball park to the players they are compared against, how would this shape your pick preferences for 6 and 11? Daniel Curtin plays like Steven May Connor O'Sullivan plays like Sam Taylor Ryley Sanders plays like Andrew Brayshaw Koltyn Tholstrup plays like Camron Rayner Darcy Wilson plays like Sam Walsh Caleb Windsor plays like Nick Martin and finally my favourite: Kynan Brown plays like Errol Gulden (because we get him on the cheap) For me: Curtin; Wilson

Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
I think we will take him at 11 if he is there. The key theme coming through is his link play and ability to hit targets in the F50. He also has strength & contest, which our club values highly. RE: Wilson, not much details on ball use and decision making. Clearly has the hallmarks of a great athlete, but we need that and skill.

Revisiting the draft
What a bad draft year 2020 was. I dont think Bowey is top 10 material but looking at his competition, nothing screams out. Im not sold on JUH just yet - i get he is still developing, but he is starting to take a Max King trajectory in that we expected greatness, just wasnt able to deliver. Errol Gulden for me will end up being #1 from 2020 draft. The kid is an absolute workhorse that is going to win a brownlow.
