  1. Big Benny Brown just stuck his foot in the door so it won't shut. ?
  2. Funny you should say that. I was just watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom the other day. You must have forgotten the ripping out of the heart first before being lowered into the pit of fire. Hmmm.....does sound similar to supporting Melbourne. Same same. ?
  3. He believes in himself, he believes he should be given the chance to prove himself, he believes he will prove himself to the club for giving him the chance. He believes a club and the players should always aim for the top and not settle for anything less. I like his confidence.
  4. Understatement of the season. I better send him my rabbit's foot and four leaf clover.?
  5. When I heard this news for some reason that song that has the line "celerrrbbrate good times, come on!" popped into my head. Woohoo! indeed.?
  6. Cairns should be our new home ground. Wonderful place. Tropical paradise.
  7. He has found a welcoming community in South Los Angeles where he says himself he feels a great sense of belonging. Because many African Americans descend from the same land as his ancestors he feels he is with family and comfortable with the culture. He is free to choose to live wherever he wants.
  8. Gee, the commentators were so understated in those days. If he was playing today they would be frothing at the mouth and looking in the dictionary for new words to praise his skill. There will never be another Bobby. ❤️?
  9. I found it telling that while Lumumba toed the line at Collingwood with their "side by side" mantra (which they seem to practice when it suits only those in charge), he was considered a thoughtful, level headed role model, consistently being voted by his peers to be in the leadership group. As soon as he grew tired of the constant racism and homophobia displayed at the club by team mates and staff and called it out (by this time he was older and no longer the young rookie worried about losing his place), he was portrayed as a dramatic trouble maker with an axe to grind. The media believed the gripes of the disgruntled Collingwood voices, including ex players such as Tony Shaw, and took up the narrative of the disturbed young black man with mental issues and ran with it like gleeful vultures who scented a new corpse to prey upon. Shameful. A naive starry eyed fan request to meet Barack Obama if the President was to attend an AFL match when he visited Australia turned into a public humiliation for the young 24 year old when the story was leaked by the unsympathetic media. How dare he? Who did he think he was? Another chance to pile derision on the young man. I am glad Lumumba has found his place in the world, and whatever happiness and peace is in it. He also has an acute awareness of where he and his family comes from, and his heritage. People on shows such as "Who Do You Think You Are?" search for their ancestors, consumed with curiosity about their relatives' experiences. Lumumba already knows what trials his ancestors endured and survived. I think he is a survivor as well, and tries hard to make his ancestors proud of him. I wish him and his family well.
  10. All he needs is the white satin pant suit. Way to go LJ!
  11. DR asks the question "What do you want from your ruckman?" That's easy Dwayne. The answer is - Max Gawn. BTW I too have looked into my crystal ball, and I predict LJ will be an absolute star. ? Dwayne is full of the brown stuff.
  12. I really don't give a flying fig what the man does. He is an EX player.
  13. If Trac does go, after 8 years, the regret will be all his. P. S. Will his idol, Buckley, even be there? Think about it Trac.
  14. Jim Stynes will be proud of the lad.?
  15. Poor Oscar. It really was death by a thousand cuts. But he hung on for 81 games. He has to be admired for his tenacity just for this achievement. Good luck, Oscar.
  16. Well done Luke. Realized Victoria is The Place To Be! Stay Safe Stay Open!?
  17. Well, they will spend all of January in a post Christmas hangover, and the season for them will finish in August and the calendars will be binned, so not too much harm done. ?
  18. Oh dear, more embarrassment for the Wobbles. Have just seen the official AFL 2021 calendar, proudly featuring Treloar and Stephenson. I guess the supporters won't be parting with their hard earned for those painful reminders. ( There are plenty of other mistakes in these calendars because they were printed before the trade period. Eg. Brown is in North Melbourne's ) Whoops!
  19. I hope Petracca is packing away his poster of Bucks, looking at those off loaded Collingwood players, saying to himself, 'there but for the grace of God go I', and vowing to stick with his Melbourne mates through thick and thin. ?
  20. Collingwood supporters still not happy. Now the dissatisfaction has extended to memberships. Heard a member on radio complaining about his experience with the membership dept. He and his sons were struggling because of COVID, losing jobs etc, but when he enquired about concession for his unemployed sons he was knocked back, being told there were no discounts. This, despite paying full price for their memberships this year without being able to attend the games grieved him. He felt he was treated poorly by the club he had been supporting financially for many years. Their attitude was arrogant and unsympathetic. What happened to their famous motto? This whole debacle has been a PR nightmare. What were they thinking?
  21. I listened to the callers on the radio and 99% of them were ready to burn whoever was responsible for the culling of the players at the stake. One was going to ring the club and demand to speak to Eddie and cancel 8 memberships. I also heard the interview with Stephenson. He sounded quite disheartened about how he was unwanted by Collingwood but looking forward to starting afresh. I was shocked to hear he had to ring Buckley himself to find out what was their position on trading him was after rumours reached him. He was told bluntly to put himself out for trade and he wasn't open enough about himself to the team. It sounded like this hurt him the most because he explained he really struggled being in the hub away from his family. He is close to his family and friends and enjoys unwinding with them away from footy as a way to relax. What he was told sounds like a poor excuse. Could have just told him, look you had a bad year and we can't afford to wait for you to get better next year. P.S. Yes, there was one woman who swore blind allegiance to Bucks and Eddie and whatever they did was the best choice ever!! LOL.
  22. He may not be the prettiest, but he goes all right.?
  23. Good luck Braydon. Hope you do well at GWS. The rest of the team, not so much. Hope they all fall by the wayside.?
  24. I just woke up. Did anything happen?
  25. I worry about Joe Biden. I sure hope he has top notch security around him at all times. He is a prime target for a deranged Trump supporter to take it upon themselves to avenge the perceived "cheating" that has occurred. Did anyone see the footage of the fleet of Trump supporters in their pickups trying to run a Biden/Harris coach off the highway before election day? Scary stuff. Trump has stirred up many people's basest hatreds and emotions with inflammatory language. The big problem is these people carry guns. Unsettled times ahead.
