The ultra edge technology helps discerning between the sounds of the bat, pads and clothing during play. The technology uses the stump microphones to differentiate clearly between the sounds created by the different sources. It is an improved version of Snicko.

Jones should relinquish captaincy now - Tex did.

Please do not compare Nathan Jones with that 'Tex' Walker dufus. Announcing the Captain/s will come in due time. The dust hasn't settled on this year yet. -
Damien Barrett's scathing assessment of the MFC
Dame Gaga replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is no longer any room left for sentiment in the sports we love. The corporations which run them have become insatiable monsters. No matter how much money is thrown at them it seems it will never be enough. -
Damien Barrett's scathing assessment of the MFC
Dame Gaga replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
What a storm in a teacup. This sort of thing used to infuriate me about the Footy Show. Eddie would wind everyone up by announcing Damo had an exclusive, or breaking news, something you would only hear on the Footy Show! Stayed tuned! Watch all the ads but don't change the channel. Be sure to hear Damo's stunning exclusive! Then when Barrett came on he would waffle on about something so vaguely, I never understood what the huge news was supposed to be. Or it wasn't new at all. Or it sounded like rumour. Is it to be believed, I wondered. If no one else is talking about it and presenting facts, I will take everything he says with a grain of salt. Headline seeker, along with many others in the media now. -
He was always super competitive and has been working in a winning culture, so it's a big YES from me.

Paid no extra for Grand Final Guarantee - scepticism vindicated! No finals - saved a heap of money. 2019 - budget balanced. Time to spend the extra money on a holiday. Far, far away.

Yes, mistakes were made by the Aussies, and the last review was a panic move when there was still time in hand and runs needed. But the umpire also made a big mistake with the Stokes lbw appeal. If he was a good umpire who could think quickly in pressure situations, all he had to do was this- give Stokes out lbw because it was there. When Stokes asked for the review, it would have shown he was out anyway and the umpire was correct in his decision. The way he fell to his knees to protect his wicket was lbw, plain and simple. The umpire would have proven his worth with no loss of face, no matter how much grief he would have got from the English crowd. The umpire is there to make the decisions and make sure the game is played in the right spirit. Unfortunately with this review system they are losing their responsibilities to technology, like everything else in sport. Now they are too scared to make the unpopular decision. If the batsman is out he is out. If you are not sure, the batsman gets the benefit of the doubt. At least that is how cricket used to be. To me the Stokes lbw was clear cut. Out.

B grade umpires adjudicating the Ashes. What a disgrace.
-
Cheating umpire. That was obviously out.
-
I think I spoke too soon. Stokes is playing like a man possessed.
-
One to go. Stokes has a haunted look on his face. Did he just let the Ashes slip through his fingers?
-
Clever catch by Head. Knew exactly what to do there. Well done. Archer was getting annoying hitting those fours.

I liked the ABC Live Blog description of the run out. "BUTTLER'S RUN OUT!!!! Stokes absolutely barbecued him!!!!!" The replay is not flattering. Hope he feels the guilt.

I'm willing to join the Magical Mystery Tour.? Roll on season 2020.

I can hear the mobs of disgruntled South Australians baying for blood from here.

For what it's worth, I always liked him, as a person and as a footballer. Wish him luck in whatever he chooses to do in the future.

He would be a great acquisition. Have a word to him Jordan. Get him to Melbourne, not St Kilda!

I have to admit when I saw these addresses to the fans by Goodwin post match land in my email inbox I never watched one of them, even from the start of the season. The whole idea of it made me cringe inside. What was he going to say when we lost, I wondered. It would be embarrassing for him, and for us. As it turned out, these little speeches would have been a hell of thing for him to do as each loss compounded his misery, and ours. Stupid idea from the start. Should never have been done.

Smith is a marvel. They tried to knock him out but he comes back and hits two fours. Take that!

Did what I thought was the right thing and made an effort to take myself to the MCG on a cold and rainy (at times) night. I was not rewarded with the same effort from the team I have supported for so long. They looked like they had all mentally checked out of this season already and were planning what they were going to do on their holidays. Thank you Melbourne. Thanks for ruining my night and the whole year. Merry Christmas everybody.

They don't care. Still assign the same biased Eagles supporting umpires to their games.

Surprise, surprise. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. NOT.

Marty kicked that great goal in Round 8, remember? His first goal. Maybe looking to add to his total tonight. That would be great to see. Going to the game to have a look for the last time this season. The last hurrah.

The telling part of the article was the emphasis on the importance to present at the preseason fit, ready (and hopefully injury free) and willing to put in the hard yards. "This is the time to put the work in your break." Did they rest on their laurels a tad too much and use injuries as an excuse (in their minds) to cruise into the year, believing it was going to happen again for them (making finals) and then to top it all off they were over praised by everyone to be the next big thing before the season had even started? Injuries, surgeries, poor preseason, coupled with high expectations, soon turned into a reality check when the wins didn't come. Perfect storm for a bad year. 17th position. ?
