This is all very distressing. At my age, I’d be better off choosing to follow a club with a chance of a premiership in the next couple of years. At least I’d be giving myself some enjoyment. So putting aside the sunk cost of 7 decades following Melbourne, and making a choice for the now, which club would be the best to follow? Yes, heresy, but a serious question.

Cats last night and Hawks tonight are showing that fast, attacking footy and ball skills win games. Kind of the opposite to our approach. We wouldn’t have got within 10 goals of them.
