  1. I don’t know what “no T$ no B$“ for this post means. And I’m not going to read through 1065 pages to find out. Can anyone help, please?
  2. I paid for my overseas membership in October and soon after received the confirmation e-mail. However - like every other year - I am locked out of the watchafl app. I have written to them to restore access, but haven’t had a response yet. The gift pack (is there one?) hasn’t arrived. Last year they asked if I would like to forgo the gift in favour of a young supporter. I agreed and supplied my grandson’s name. But, for some silly reason, that isn’t part of the deal. They give the gift to someone of their choosing. Not a great way to bring the next génération into the Demon’s fold.
  3. Just read the AFL article. Jones was the only one who did not achieve All-Australian status. Most of the others had multiple AA representation. Sad but true.
  4. Jones was fantastic for us over many years. But iirc, he has never been an All-Australia. So while great for us, it shows how far we (and he) were behind the competition.
  5. But very few of us use our real picture. Brave move, Bitter.
  6. Agree, 58. What we’d lack in experience would be covered by speed.
  7. Interesting, young team. But hard to imagine that five of our best 22 would be in their first or second season.
  8. Lucky I’m too old to play. My surname has 12 letters.
  9. I think it was suggested names AND numbers, rather than instead of numbers.
  10. Thanks for that, Hero. Interesting reading.
  11. Hi Soupless.

I had always wondered about the origins of your avatar. Today in France’s cold and wet lockdown I watched some old Seinfeld episodes. I think I discovered it. Right?

    a bientôt.

Thanks for the reply. I was referring to « no soup for me » being from Seinfeld.

we must be of similar age (born 1951)

Hope to meet you some day - if I ever get to Melbourne again.

Hi  FD I just realized where you are living how dumb am l ? I had woken up with a cup of coffee and saw your message and l was intrigued by your question . I was half awake and clicked sometime in the arvo  ha ha.

I have been to Paris travelled with the wife and spent five days and stayed in Opera. Not enough.

The name l use NSFM is that l just put a twist on  the Soup Nazi mantra. He says no soup for you.

I wish you the best of luck in France,  (are you in Paris?) and l hope you all pull through this wretched virus soon.

We’re in a town called Souillac, which is in the Lot department, about 500 km south of Paris. We’ve been here 7 years, after spending 2 in Paris, 10 in Singapore and 2 in Hong Kong.

We’ve bought an apartment in Ringwood, off the plan, and intend to move back when it’s built — probably end 2022.

      stay well. And go Demons!

  12. Can’t sleep, Werridee? Would like to know the story behind the Werridee name.
  13. I remember that goal. We lost the next week to Footscray (I think). We went on to win the premiership through Crompton's goal. If it weren't for Hassa's goal, we'd have missed the finals altogether.
  14. Good. Now, if he can just learn to take the first option and to kick with his right foot. Winner.
  15. If there's a tie, the other places slip back. E.g. First, tie for second, then it's fourth.
  16. Thanks Dee-lusional. I figured that out just after I posted the question and my espresso kicked in. ? I hope that spells the end of references to Wagner's and Wagners'.
  17. Would you please explain the '96ers club? I'm not familiar with that term.
  18. Ben Silvagni was drafted on name alone. They needed more Bens.
  19. Wow, it really doesn't pay to have a different or independent opinion, does it. Ok, so I was mistaken about Hore and Collingwood. At what stage was Hore leading the AFL intercepts makes and how many did he have compared with others?
  20. I really don't get the enormous hate for Oscar or the love for Hore. Oscar: by no means perfect but he is a good kick and generally a good decision maker. Yes, like all fringe players he makes mistakes sometimes, but look at our Demonland votes and notice he's in the top 22. Provides the extra height needed against tall forward lines. Hore: couldn't get a game at Collingwood. In 2019 he was frequently caught out of position and gave away unnecessary free kicks. Now he has been passed by Trent Rivers - a 19 year old in his first season. Even if he is retained, I doubt we'll see Hore selected in the team again.
  21. Sorry, John Demonic. I clicked the angry icon instead of the smiley one. We're cool.
  22. Well done QD. But a bit harsh on Lever (The Great Pretender) and I can't see how you could possibly think Hore is The Real Thing. Have you ever watched him play? Rivers is in first few games is miles ahead of Hore. Doubt we'll ever see Hore play in a Melbourne team again.
  23. Yes, you look happy.
