Is Marty your brother ? Seriously gushing over a 28 yo defender who played 14 average games in a modest year. I hope Disco gets a fair go ahead of Marty and can only see him as a break glass if broken 8th, 9th or 10th defender, Also believe Disco is a really nice young man as well and can play a bit.

Yes you will after Round 5 the bye round. And it will alter ( as it has done in each season ) after the second bye. This happens each year after the bye so your point is completely wrong. It doesn’t happen for all season any year and quite frankly who cares.
-
Most of your history is 5 years ago! Marty is 28 and most other Dees listed players 19-25 years and spots are precious on an AFL list. It’s just a poor recruiting decision in age and position and Marty won’t replace Dunstan or Harmes or Jordan. Maybe a case for Hibbo but we are not really short of half backs. It’s forwards and match winners we need skilled finishers. And money is not always a good guide to recruitment of players! Hope they reconsider this potential move.

Yes thanks LaDee

Was not commenting on Maynard and Murphy. That was a real footy accident. irony is that a Pie may be forced out of the game and Angus is free to choose to play on or not. The fact that as it was Maynard also with Murphy is now another ironic part I was not centred upon. Possible Karma for Pies ( totally Unlucky for player Murphy who we hope makes a complete recovery ) from a footy accident when the other incident was not an accident IMO.

Hanks had almost admitted ill health in interview on afl.com.au. But said all who played were fit Tom play. Still don't agree either with you on your opinion just because you don't like their views on Goody or our team. If they belong to D/L they are able to post snd as long as Andy passes it that's it. That's what this forum is in Many ways is about.

How come you couldn't find room for him ( AMW) in our first 41 then. It only needs Goody and Casey selectors to deprive him of vsludnle time on HD ground and Hire is taking up time snd space for our youngster that needs all the experience necessary. Just a bad policy both fir any of our young Casey players inc. AMW and Disco who you had in one of your AFL 2024 teams instead of Tommo but have changed. Age vs youth agsin .

It's just as possibly not also. Leake and others could be favoured.

Our AFL lawyer was hopeless and did a disgraceful job in representing Angus. If the biochemist guy says you have 0.45 seconds to change your position stands to reason you have even less if you are going to be attacked. That removes any responsibility for Angus "changing lanes " that was ridiculously stated. It was a natural movement after kicking the ball. No challenging indicates AFL was half hearted and no cross examination of Pies legal advocate who made some outrageously incorrect statements that should have been challenged.

Ironic if Murphy is forced out of the game and The thug Maynard continues without any penalty other than sleepless nights. And rejection from the Brayshaw family and Angus etc. Main thing is that Angus looks as though he is ok snd able to choose to start training on time if he wishes. Naturally that means he has passed all tests and life is fine again from all angles and a clear road ahead,

Yes but some of Windsor or Wilson should be available at 11 and don't inflate the no's because they are academy or sons snd lalready not included or added in the no's. 13 is the same as 11 in the proper list it's just that there will be bids forcing the Academy snd father/sons to be taken.

Really what a negative Nellie you are Debauched. When we go to NT it is OUR choice and in 2023 we had 7 interstate games inc. Gather Round, Geelong and Saints at Marvel. 13 MCG games with away Tigers Blues and Hawks fixtures. 2024 May be the same but you have only heard a small portion of the Draw but launch Into criticism prematurely and negatively like a child bring refused lollies before dinner. The MFC have gad their chance to request options in the draw so wait and see about how their wishes have been responded to.

Part of supporting a Club is adapting to the conditions handed to you. Yes it's always a bummer when some groups have to think on the run but that's life. The progressive groups find a way and move on learning from it for the next time. Worry about the things under your control and we don't control the draw and would be laughed out at if we used these reasons to want to give up prime time and free to air advertising in our draw requested. It's called progress and that's what our Club has been developing for the last decade. Opportunities will open and let's take them when they arise.
-
Yes we have earned our status rise and the right to enjoy it also.

As we grow we deserve the spoils awarded to other Clubs. What do these family friendly games involve ? Big gaps in the crowd so kids can wander safely or families spread out over spare seats beside their bags etc. Let's not go back to early Sat or Sun games with 20,000 fans and no atmosphere. We are bigger than that and deserve all the financial and other advantages while we have our premiership window open and opportunities akin to our place in the sun, which ironically means more prime and night games.

You can't have it both ways WCW. You want ( and I do to) more at games and by that more interest from fans. First timers are perfectly entitled to comment positively or negatively to show they care. If the performance deserves credits that will be taken care of and equally if off the boil criticism is a given it is understandable. Last week was the worst MFC AFL or AFLW performance for a decade since 100 pt thrashings in 2013. If the grapevine talk is even remotely near about Covid or similar we are now in Chris Scott 2021 Prelim Final territory and we don't want to go down that path. Our team has indisputably earnt the right of a second chance but if any of the last 3 performances are repeated that will be curtains I fear. However there is too much class and spirit in this side to give away this opportunity without a real fight so like a champion horse does I believe we will win in a tight one and live to play the Lions again in Brisbane.

Sorry 55 you are correct!
-
Disagree Can work in Bye for both Tigers and us around our tricky Wed night Anzac Eve fixture. Tiges play Suns in opening round on Coast so easier to match up I presume for 2 teams to have same bye dates around their fixture.
-
Will have to be a West Coast game as we play Freo in the Alice in Round 10. As haven’t played WC at G for ages you might be unlucky with no Optus game in WA in ‘24.
-
How do Pies rest players because of Day games in blocks? Seriously don’t remember much Resting other than last Round and we all had a bye afterwards. If you are talking of handling players conservatively we did that that’s not resting. Please name the blocks of day games after winter and Pies also finished season with 3 successive Friday night games at G and Marvel if I am correct.
-
Not sure about these posts. Are they unofficial or guesses or confirmed facts from a reliable source? My response is and this is just my gut feel common sense and footy facts chipping in. (1) Anzac Eve match is a given vs Tigers. If you are alluding to a bye before then Round 5 ( probably same for Tigers as well) it’s a Wed night so that might be the Bye before Round 6 as (if) Anzac Eve is considered as a Round 6 fixture. (2) Clint who do we play in Round 4 on Thursday night? Pre Easter Lions host Pies normally as a stand alone. Are you guessing or fantasising ?

Another inside mid type ??? We have surplus we need skilled runners who finish (Windsor) or a KP forward or back ie Curtin Caddy or O’Connor. Don’t need hard as nails brutes or 6 possession half forwards who lack skills.
-
Tile = role

We haven’t learnt much IMO from the last 2 years. Hard as nails might sound good to Goody but we have a few ie JV Trac Clarry Sparrow what we need is a skilled outsider runner and finisher mid like Windsor (who kicks goals to) and another key position player like Curtin ( if available ) preferably or if not then Caddy as a forward ahead of O’Sullivan as a back. Alternatively selecting Sanders or Watson is fine as next best but Kolthrup I believe is more of the same hard as nails style. Class and finishing up forward are obvious needs and we should be able to add this in our 6/11 picks of the top dozen in the AFL while the most of the other top 4 and 4 to 8 have to go with their trades for needs already acquired. Swans and Port had gaping gaps in their structure ( key positions) and have addressed that adequately but no real A graders other than Grundy although plenty of handy B’s. I believe we have targeted McAdam ( he really chose us which could be the recruit of the year ( depending on shady he delivers fit our forward mix, Billing’s need is to have his best seasons now the pressure of the Saints is lifted and who knows what limits a climate change May unearth a 24yo ruck/ forward prospect in the mix of our Captain and forwards. Add say a Windsor plus A key position forward or back of quality with our improved Casey backups Howes AMZ Laurie Disco Jefferson and Kynan Brown on the ball potential our dire needs have all been attempted to be added to our existing stars and valuable tile players. Big pre seasons and a couple more Judd McVees types out of our mix will put smiles on our faces plus anguish on our opponents in 2024.
-
Curtin better if still there and Windsor will be perfect for our forward and outside running skills.
