  1. No Rivers could/should have been injected at 3/4 time at least at the bounce (Oh for Kossie) and probably around the ground to lift us. I’m treating it with caution but re Maxie it did not look good tonight. He was I feel cooked by 3/4 time and didn’t go for one of Stephie’s long kickout bombs in Q4 through exhaustion and they got a goal. The big drop off was only ONE quarter really so the humidity may well have been a substantial reason after all. Nothing has.changed re the forward line except Fritta was easily our best with others miles behind but the defence was unusually under complete pressure with the breakdown of the mids in the final term when the Swans went up at least 2 notches as we coincidentally dropped a couple. And Brody won the big man battle by honest good rucking. Don’t think JJ was a major player but his total of 18 possessions was more than some of our counterparts in that position. BTW it does no good saying so and so has played his last game and never to play again. Sport does not generally quantify that way thank goodness. And nor should MFC only give one chance to any player also. Many fumbled or weren’t at their total best so the same slack and opportunity is afforded to all but some are needed to step up their skills and urgency to AFL standards back at the G next week or the Dogs might at long last repay our scoring feats of the 2021 GF and humble us in Round1. A Swan (Swallow/ Sparrow) does not a summer maketh remember. It’s only about really ONE quarter and this group of players have a pretty decent record since halfway through 2020 on that score. A repeat and alarm bells will be ringing all across the Melbourne ( Victorian and Aussie landscape ) nevertheless.
  2. Agree I walked a 1 km from Mascot after about 2 laps around the SCG and Accor Stadium and in the light rail all crowded in together and my Tshirt was ringing wet. it could have been a bigger factor in the last quarter as we definitely slowed down and the Swans last 10 players all ran on top of the ground all night. We looked one pace really without Kossie and the smaller ground was not played well by us. Another Baffling Sub choice. Billing’s instead of Spargs who has not had a lot of recent training or match practice. Not a great game from him and he could have come on fresh say at 3:4 time and Billing’s played from start. Chandler Can’t with Spargs and Laurie either play all 3 together in the 22. Lets see what next week happens but will need to get more life and pace in team of Dogs might run us off the G.
  3. Prelim in West and Hawks early on. Cwood not great on QB either. In 2018 or 2021 either. Brisbane put in 2 shockers last year vs Suns at Carrara and Hawks at the G. No ones perfect.
  4. Kossie and Woe for starters. I’d drop Spargo play Billing’s and Kynan B and not sure on Chandler and Schache after only one game. .

Overreaction Sue. Players can handle the questions with skill and it makes all players much more valuable and approachable to learn how to cope with the media. Very few situations that you have quoted and shares the learning of basic skills as growth for individuals.
  6. But he still tries to do too much and misses handball ops which cost us goals, Someone else said first thought best to move ball on and that is right.
  7. Why has he got 2. Votes then???
  8. Spargo is available. So is BBB but neither have done the work in last month to be even a sub. Woe or Pup Kynan could be Sub or from left field Fullarton but again no fanfare so not happening IMO.
  9. Fit = foot sorry
  10. Not all players have to be stereotyped . Caleb wasn’t strong enough to make debut this season and look?? Marvellous h ow 2 great goals fixed all that. Yes Howes could build up but give him a go at least and back in the selectors. We need the skills of Duke Jibba and Howes as we have lots of other bulls out there. These guys fit skills can turn our disposal aroun. Kolt Fullarton and McAdams are waiting in the wings !!
  11. Have you checked Tmacs form in the curtain raiser last Wed. Picket? Summary said both he and Marty were pretty reliable and in fair touch.
  12. Simple bring your own food!!
  13. Of what?
  14. Whatever the Club decide I will be happy with. But I hope they give Clarry the go ahead for zero Round.
  15. Caleb will probably end up being our best wingman since Robbie. has that speed of acceleration and his skills will only get better as he plays more games. What I like about the Duke is he has such a great way of getting the. Ball and setting off for a 10/15 m dash and then disposes of the ball. So impactful and simple plan and is good in traffic with his acceleration. Fan favourite already what a thrill to see him in opening Round in Sydney and also make his MCG debut vs Dogs in Round1. MCC members are in for a great season first hand in front of them with the Duke.

He played and went very well according to the report.
  17. He is a big boy and teammates will stick up for him.
  18. That’s not so from all the press or even what Gawny has said.
  19. Sorry NO Harry to FF.
  20. Trac’s kicking skills are more reliable than Dangers.
  21. Worth far more than four points on all fronts really. Hardly a negative also including the Casey bonuses. Clarry MJ Seston Woe Kolt Fullarton for the run and fitness Tmac Hore AMW Verrall all the Demons a really great hit out indeed.
  22. For Kossie.
  23. To be fair despite our 25 in age plus dominance on this team we are in reality in transition with the under 22’s about to play a major role in many differing positions. It gives a renewed freshness and vitality to our game plan and opens up I believe a potential of no ceiling on the expectations for 2024. And we have others to add to our mix with already recognised AFL credentials. Now there is sunshine over our Club yes the clouds and rain will not magically disappear but it looks possible that we have managed to ward off any major damage to our on ground footy fabric. Indeed it may well have prospered and we may make hay while the sun shines in spite of the sceptics who were assembling en masse.

I would presume the opposite, Papley and Warner underdone no way. No underestimating any Swans players under any circumstances.
