  1. Totally agree CB. Henir any of his match day lieutenants (if any exist) don't seem to react on match days or even in training. When suggested that Smith be included up forward I now agree that his X FACTOR could be the additional piece in our forward puzzle. He could be a revelation and take much planning away from Tommy Weid and Fritsch. Plus Bennell and Kosi. Liked Hannan's game last week also. Goody seems to stereotype players and put in boxes and not look for the outside the box solutions. Hence no changes on Sat during the game. This must stop as it is foolhardy and nit positive to our Club. The assistants must fight fir this to be altered and msybe this has led to Jennings and McCartnry being changed and out of favour! its a start today with Weid and Harley and hopefully better forward days in the sun!!

    Gary Pert

Or Nev minding a 200cm forward like McKay of Carlton
  3. He (JV)fellover about 6 times and lost the ball or passed under hurry so he wasn't caught . No poise or skill displayed.
  4. No CHB is Mays spot and he will attack from there with results. We will have heart issues probably with Oscar on King but as a goalkeeper he knows his job and so I also hope he takes the game on. Look for Lever to shine also now that 3 talls are there and Smith won't get in the road of everyone!
  5. Well AF we haven't hit a great deal of time. The Coach must admit his Plan is not working and be flexible. He must swallow his pride and admit it and change. Right now he appears to be unchallenged and limes it BUT look at our system and plan and results. In addition we look horrible on the field no one will watch us if we play like against the Cats. Jennings was a master tactician and would get credit from our 2018 form and success. I would back him in and if Simon doesn't change and results don't come it will be too late as our young players will want to leave. Yhe fact is I believe EVERY Dees fan knows we are not 17th on ability but are bring destabilised by a selfish and stubborn Coach who should be given 2020 to solve the problem Or resign. And please take Alan Richardson with him, as he is a yes man I suspect and failed at the Saints with his plan which our plan also resembles with forward line shambles and accuracy.
  6. Unfortunately Josh epitomises the Melb mediocrity Is Willing sort of hard at it but not greatly skilled and very average disposal. Has been lucky to survive this long on our list . Grest trier at best but not to build the future on.
  7. Agree but also please Make changes when we are down. Prob needed at half time last Sat or even late in 2nd quarter.
  8. Funny about that ODee the AFL are not sharing your get rid of the Dees quick quit scheme. Your negativity is no doubt based upon years of disappointment but your life is full of events that don't Go The way you like. We are at rock bottom the way we are playing and our players and Coach and game plan are not in symmetry but It can get better or we make big changes to ensure that things change. Forecasting the finish is foolish inaccurate and a waste of time. Our task from this week is to Improve and get together and solve the form and skills disaster. There are some good footballers on our list and it's up to them to start playing up to their ability and fir the game plan and selection to be more realistic. 2020 is nowhere near lost yet and anything can happen in this strange world we are in at the present. Show that you have learned from life and look positively not dismissively on our situation please. Us oldies look silly not learning life's lessons and having a half empty approach as it is not going to happen in the AFL much and all as you keep wishing it to eventuate.
  9. Very good summary Poita especially the Goodwin summary.
  10. Sorry it is a lack of confidence that leads to bad decisions as doubts creep in the more we fail. Of course intensity and concentration and physical presence create this lack of confidence coincidentally!!
  11. Both are not school age But more pre school I think !!!
  12. That's not true In dome States hold surfing cafe and coffee ing are ok
  13. Rubbish He was not just for the money and the team played fine on many occasions in 2016 and 2015. He had no choice to develop defenders and competitiveness but what had happened NO FINISHING and PACE have really been recruited to add to the base he laid. 3 years was never going to complete the team and although 2017 and of course 2018 provided a lineal development path game changes and style of recruits have held our progress up to finish the team. Javk Watts is a finisher as is Hsrvey Bennell also Kossie but Goody is so one dimensional and confused his lack of clarity simple game plan and devrlopment of our players has stalled any progress. NOW we are back to about 2015 with some potential on our list to improve no doubt BUT we need a strong Team oriented coach and a tough one to harness our young bulls who think they can play but really not running AFL footy in 2020.
  14. Didn't they have a map ? Ridiculous reason if a bye!! That's a weak pathetic comment with no base or truth and you know it!
  15. Agree 3 Dee we are lacking any confidence and ability to play with any conviction and style that makes even a reasonable season possible at this moment. I tried to rationalise during the week fir this result by the thoughts that we ARE NOT in a premiership window. Too many players are not producing under pressure and that includes "stars" like Maxy Clarry Lever May Tommy Mac Jack V Melk and Gus. We have some future players like Kossie Jacko Rivers Harley Fritschy but they won't develop properly or experience success if our seasoned players continue to get away with their efforts like today continually. Trac was magnificent today a Lone Ranger with Fritta and fir a while Hibbo had a purple last half. That horrible pass from Clarry to Trac Summed it up A disaster of skill and carelessness and just plain football DUMBNESS. Also the last 2 goals of the game to the Tigers indicated " of the great divide in all our defenders" that exists and why we let goals sieve. The ability is there but no cohesion and training of how to back up your mate take a handpass to get out of trouble. Is it any Wonder Jay Lockhart May not survive this initiation period down back As Goody etc will lose patience as he tries to link up with his teammates in defending our goals. Rivers will survive as he is of the ability and temperament and class required to withstand our frailties. The blame is IMO On Goody and the FD. Our stars look past caring at times although seem to try but in truth the efforts are disjointed erratic and each day we play NO ONE knows what we will get in performance. Our best is not poised neither sustainable or realistic and is punctuated by skill errors in the attempt to msintain the standard. We need a Hard demanding task master with team ethos to improve each individual AND importantly get a GAME PLAN That reflects our ability in today's modern AFL world. Bartlett and Petty need to have a word to Goody and Josh M of the time is now to develop players and the team not necessarily to win a flag but set us up fir success in 2021 and beyond. After Glen Bartlett's interview last week I thought he was very honest and realistic. But others need to be reminded of the job at hand and urgency! If any one questions my opinion fine BUT try and name any player on our list that he has improved since 2018 other than TRAC. Msybe that's why we have slipped so alarmingly in the AFL Club pecking order. Any one got Ross Lyons phone no as he is tailor made for our Club despite many people's opinion and perhaps lack of respect Towards. That's not enough to not give him the reigns based upon his record at two previous BASKET CASE type Clubs Saints and Freo!
  16. Sorry SPC you are right about dying! In fact we all will do that in good or quick time depending upon our age and health. Wherther you choose to barrack for the Dees Or not will have no bearing when! So it's your choice to continue or fade away in support for the Club. One thing appears certain that if and when we make Finals after playing well we find many many supporters Come back on board not necessarily participating in watching or going to games through the downturn 2018 proved that! Over to you and sorry about your Dad.
  17. Best Tigers after Tommy Harry died when we were under Roosy please bring those days back we had a CoacH with an idea about team footy and selection.
  18. Won't increase Dees chances of winning based upon 2019
  19. I was staggered when many D/L and the Coaches gave Jack Viney votes last weekend. Two reasons 1. He fell over when clear about a half dozen times and didn't get the take away 2. I can't remember ANY of his kicks reaching a teammate. Oh and 3. The sample played by RossLyon in not handpassing when a teammate was clear. BTW Rods said he felt we are not far off just need to smarten our teamwork and decision making. No doubt we do not play as we train and ifGoody is to survive we need to improve our 1%ers and teamwork in the games. Reminds me of the Cwood of about 2 seasons ago Couldn't buy a goal then overcame that problem and have been a top team since. Ross Lyon for coach for the above reasons if Goody dies not succeed this year as we have ability no doubt.
  20. Agreed Kozzie There would be a game plan and accountability
  21. Yes Buck but a mid match switch like Smith forward would not be too revolutionary which is what I would have done at least at 3/4 time with maybe Melsham at HB and more game time fir Angus and ball tome for Harmesy.
