TRAINING: Monday 1st March 2021
Fair enough Bing forgot about Aarts Yes he played well but Riv just seemed out of sorts most unlike him. I like him and reckon he will come back vs Doggies on Monday. I also reckon that that's why we should have a small back pocket style player to go with smaller faster opponents. I have been championing Locky but now have a feeling Bowey is the one after Friday's B game. Players like Daniels Tippy etc cause us trouble because of our bad match ups. Jets is no longer fast enough fir these pact players I really don't know heather Riv is fast enough and agile for them either. Goody and Coaches have to look at This option for our defence I feel for every base to be covered. Thanks for your post Bing I am sure Riv will be fine he is a star.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Wrong DD give Kossie a fair go He is a kid since when do you expect exact performances from Ist Rounders that always match their draft no? Some are slower than others mids are quick to perform KP players slower ( SamW) rucks even slower ( Gawny) and a comparison with many other small forwards is relevant. if you want to be fairer you could be super critical on the same Scale with ANB or Hunty.!!! Kossie is only 19 and has elite talent and once he gets back into the swing will gain confidence with our Coaches assisting all along the way. He has a great base to build from and will pay us off many times over as Stretch says. Your one goal a game is not a given but as long as he plays his role and creates pressure and chaos with the defenders we will prosper. A goal a game will be achieved and more if there is no pressure on him playing his role in due course.

Calls to Swap our Rd 01 Game to Marvel
Essendon should have thought more when they championed their Marvel ( or whatever it was named in 2001 or thereabouts) Stadium as their base home venue. If every game is altered because it may sell out and some people miss out then games will be on a merry go round fir these reasons as well as the potential of Covid to upset the Fixture. FWIW the AFL have said they want the first 6 rounds Of the fixture to remain unchanged ( Of course they say and do what they want When they want ) but I have a feeling this will create a rod for their own back if they compound for this reason alone. There could be a whole new fixture looked at when really I feel it will only result in the 50% Figure at Marvel Mars and smaller venues ( if relevant) in other States being lifted during the early rounds or ASAP. MFC should register their position saying that their game should not be moved as a precedent for any reason given by EFC.

TRAINING: Monday 1st March 2021
He didn't play a horrible game or make multiple errors and I don't think his opponent was BOG but just didn't seem to get involved. He may be one of those players that lifts for the real thing to and gets absolutely motivated. Reckon he will lift for a much more Public game and show his class as usual. Maybe give him Wallis to mind as he almost beat us Solo in the forward line in 2020.

Who gets to go to Round 1?
OD it means FYI that your comment that you didn't go to the footy last year was NO NEWS For or to anyone as it was Locked Out to All Victorians all season. IE it was "meaningless news " even worse than fake news!!! Any way if you don't understand this comment then let's move on as you altered my comment completely.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
We've put up with ANB and of late Fritta with goal kicking accuracy issues. why pick on Kossie in his first developmental year.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Don't disagree with Hibbo good last season Jonesy half and half but pretty good on Friday. Jets has slowed a bit was ok on Friday. It's AVB and Melksham. When was their last recognised form?? Not last year or in 2019 I don't reckon. Basically 2018 and weren't there on Friday and have been in rehab most of pre season so match fitness AND form a worry. It's a different story with Jack V and Gus as they are tracking for around 1. Even then I am not sure we should risk both vs Freo with true young on ballers! Let's trust Sparrow and Jordon as slightly older recruits if they both go ok vs Bullies on Monday. They deserve their opportunity especially Jimmy Jordon and we do know what Tom gives honestly and with heart. You seem to not recognise the draftees from 2019 and 2020 as chances to be: selected. Kossie won't make it I assume on form and little bit of match fitness But on last year Jacko and Riv are certain selections with good form fitness and great opportunity after bulking up over summer. The 2020 draftees are your different kettle of fish. Did you see Bowey on Friday admittedly in the B Practice match Looked an AFL player with composure time and excellent disposal from BP and defence. Laurie was slick and sure in and under and also good use of the ball including a long goal. Skill level commented upon. Rosman did not stand out on the wing so did not really press his claims. Finally at FB Harry Petty was prob our best player with about 10 marks and 7 intercepts. His disposal was good and he looked ready to replace Tommo IMO at FB or CHB with Maysie the other and allowing Jake to also show his best form intercepting On numerous occasions Halting the Tigers forward Thrusts. So we have some youth ready others chafing at the bit and some will have to wait.Choco has torn up or burned these youngsters Birth certificates apparently !!! The improvement will come with speed and aggression in the game plan and youth can often provide that with no backward steps. Some of our 2018 heroes are not exactly racing to the finish line. There are some others also that can add to our list if they train and get the right development from our coaches. Let's all hope that any player earns their spot from training form and fitness Plus their ability whether it is past or future that excites the selectors and the balance is to give us the best chance of success from Round1.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Hunty has some good footy skills pace Long Kicking straight goal shooting, and short Passing plus line breaking ability but footy smarts no. Even as a forward he was not a natural crumber but he will prove handy like Tommo ( Linson) as depth and versatility in a better team as a smarter and slicker outfit. It looks to me that Salem Hunt Tommo Tmac and some of our mids and new runners can all be moved between Some lines to upset the opposition. Count Petty in that group also. All we need to do is Get Ooze and Choco to convince Goody to move those Clipboard names!! Let the games begin!!

Clayton Oliver 100 Games Round 1 2021 vs FREO
Clarry will Gain the Accolades if he impacts the game like in Friday. No errors great Disposal with about 2/3 by foot accelerating to deliver very accurate and penetrating Passes along with them usual handball breaking up play to our advantage and best marking game also hitting the scoreboard. Wasnt near his highest disposals games but he made such impact with his hands on the ball we benefitted each time. That will result in greater recognition and respect as he looked comfortable and assured in his new style ( thank you Ooze you rock ). The whole midfield looked smart even slick at times and with Gawny having a BOG it was a great start to Adam Yzes career at the Dees. Remember no Gus no Jack and debutant Jimmy Jordon and 7 gamer Sparrow both who slotted in without any hint of nerves or over use of the ball. Very promising for our depth and maybe some changing of the guard of sorts. Exactly what I suggested Ooze would deliver viz a 25% improvement in our on ball group Mainly in process and use of personnel and style. Cant wait for further Chapters in this storyline. Meanwhile let's celebrate Clarry's first hundred stellar matches and hopefully we can contemplate what might be achieved after his 200th and even 300th!!!

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Virtually 2 seasons of no output from both Melk and AVB and I have stated we need to move on from our 2018 heroes If time has passed them by. A block of games with Casey may sting them and let's see if they respond. Youngsters can be managed Over the season and our small forwards and runners stocks are rising. The time IS NOW To change our group to the future and place our faith with our new coaches to improve this team like it was on Friday. Form is still important and injuries relevant in any selections. RB Our list is developing and our game plan looked solid vs Tigers. We have 5/6 now approaching A graders with some good players out injured still and others now approaching B graders if they maintain their form plus role players doing their job.

Stop experimenting with Hunt get Petty in so Jake can mark and Hibbo when fit or take a chance on Bowey or Lockhart for small crumbing opposition player.to mind.

Who gets to go to Round 1?
- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Last two are running on thin ice with form and injury as 2 years of poor form plus newer replacements gather momentum to aid our rise up the ladder.- Ron Barassi
I wore The No 31 on my first jumper Of the Demons At the moment I don't have a No on the one on a bust/lamp in my bedroom but Trac No 5 is preferred.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
That's my point P2J You said he hasn't trained and also that he shouldn't play BUT have changed your opinion and admit he has done some lone training plus SANFL. And Now admit you would want him in as a third string to our small forward bow vs Freo in Round1. At this stage I don't mind if Kossie does play but Viney Brayshaw Petty Hibberd and Melksham would appear to be short of real match practice so guess we really need to ensure we will have a pretty full list to play out a tough four quarters. If Kossie plays do you consider all of those players or are some fitter than others. Kossie hasn't been injured at least and is the fastest in our side I reckon. But as you said Spargs and Chandler are ahead of Kossie ( in fitness and exposed form ) and on balance deserve to be selected in Round1. Interesting Selection Dilemmas!! Not such a bad position to be in with many options which makes our AAMI Match vs Bulldogs VIP. - POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
