  1. Not avail as one more suspension game!!
  2. Absolutely agree esp in last quarter!!
  3. What we get from Langers is always running up or down the wing whether we are 5 goals in front or 5 goals behind. He also is starting to find targets consistently and more penetration in his disposal. Very good recruit.
  4. There would be lucky if anyone of them are still at the Club now given their turnover (Lethlean etc) and Covid delisting (sackings)
  5. Ditto Repeato FITB Riv will be a 200 gamer and will be in our 2000 plus Team of the Century and rate like our greats Williams Anderson Thorogood And Brett Lovett. Joy to watch !!!.
  6. Forgot Lockhart who should return in place of resting Hibbo.
  7. Lockhart should join him (Riv) with Salo Maysie Tommo and Jake as starting defence 6 plus Wags deserves spot in 22.
  8. Ditto Bravo Goody ( and Richo) and the players.
  9. Thought Jack quietened Steele in the second half and contributed to our win along with Clarry showing his class in the last quarter as well. Many others did valuable 1%ers in the last quarter even though they were not major contributors all day.
  10. If some of our forwards ran like Langers They would find the ball a lot more. How many of them were front and square Today? That said most did something even 1% ers to contribute. Great to see some beating on the stats AND still get up and win. Really IF entries were the biggest discrepancy and I feel we were slightly more direct over the whole game. Fir once we looked a tad more dangerous up forward jus think how good if we ever get all forwards working as Hard as our magnificent backline played today. Maysie best game ever for us Trac another level up forward today and Langers a trooper who gets better disposal each week now. Very honourable mentions to Clarry ( last 1/4 especially) Maxy Salo ( kept Butler quiet I think) Jack on Steele 2nd half plus Rivers ( rarely makes a mistake fir a kid) Tommo very reliable under pressure today and Jake who clearly is nearing his best form again and Weid who is one of the Four form AFL forwards averaging 2 goals or above for a game. Promising and should play next week Smith, (Hibbo I would rest him ) Hannan I thought he linked up ok but need goals from him. Not sure we need Oscar vs Sydney for height. Wags not worst and didn't make errors. Angus not best but handy seemed to slip a bit and fall . Manage or drop Kossie AVB Spargs ??? Return Fritta Bennell? Bedford? Tommy ( not this game) Coaching one of our best efforts by Goody ( and Richo no doubt) but selection a dogs breakfast really. ONE OF GOODYS BEST WINS considering the pressure and importance of the game.Definitely in his best five wins fir the Club I feel.
  11. It was twofold Donny. Pace and run snd carry!!! First kick or handball to outside runner who then transferred to another outside runner snd thence to their forward line where they marked a pass or were clever enough to pressure our defence to panic or at best stifle the ball into a ball up. Saints have greater pace In foot speed than Doggies and kick far more. Mids must be on our game and Gawny in defence marking mode with quick handball to keep game flowing.
  12. Some very well made points AF and thanks for your response. Unfortunately not much joy really out of it all. Melky still in team ( only good game vs Cwood) and Fritsch surrendering on his own sword. and no doubt we will miss him warts and all, If Bayley is happy now playing his role then that Is a damning reflection of the Coaching stsff. We need much more from him in view of Tommy's form and others like Melky Hannan and Harmes lack of impact on the games, Also the lack of flexibility in the coaching box on game day is breathtakingly poor. It looks as though changes in selection are considered flexibility by our FD and Coach. I thought thst Richo made a point that we would up the speed factor due to the Saints run snd carry. Who is fast enough to play on Butler for eg? Jay Lockhsrt should be tagging him IMO. This looks like the slowest team all season with Brown Oscar Wagner and Jonesy do our mids will have to play super games to keep the ball in motion IMO. Oh and some Forward accuracy Like vets Pies would be nice!!
  13. Absolutely DZ He was the lamb the AFL dined our on and set up their pretend strict Approach ( for a lowlight low Club situation) as Burgoyne was too good for yo be made an example of and Hawks both Clarkson and Kennett would have monopolised the airwaves fir the week with vitriol. Agsin the damage done was crucial. Last night at Metricon a similar tackle resulted no head damage so no thoughts of a sling really and of course Tigers and Eagles not in the equation fir this result. But it's about technique and last Round Powell Pepper slung McEvoy dangerously IMO but no outcry it even free kick. To ChangE the method of tackling penslities are need even if no concussion or player damage because e tackler dies not always control this aspect and I becomes a lottery the AFL can loophole out if in its own biased and arrogant way.
  14. Melky should go first. Completely under achieved in most stats this year. Fritta needs a wake up call though as he is a wasted A grade talent potentially.Who ever Is forward coach needs to work on his leading to pockets near the boundary accuracy on goals lack of body strength and IMO is too reliant upon marking fir his scoring opportunies. Should be good at on the run goals with his ability. IE what's he wasting his time kicking 1/2 goals per game when he is a 40/60 potential goals per season player even in this reduced time of games. Our elephant in the room again Developmrnt if skills !!' Work rate etc
  15. No Footy head not Coach !!! Ideal but can't see where he and Goody are alike? Skuit what traits are the same???
  16. Why ?? He would live a challenge I am sure to enhance his reputation. Put the bank for consideration we badly need off field strategic direction and ideas! Say goodbye to Richo!!
  17. Gawny just beats NicNat I reckon and is Menegolas best better than Dangers near best? Good idea to include newbies! Coach Kenny? Ratten or even Longmuir making a play!!
  18. Stephen May pushing very hard Cutting out the dinky kicks and occasional brain fade in last 3/4 matches. Really showing how good he can be and why we recruited him. Five more years of this would be a god send.
  19. Really Blind Harry the miner could have told us about the Bulldogs spread!! Thought in good space at half time No attacking players at best and upside really possible. Could see we dodged some bullets in hindsight! Went completely Pear shape as Bont and Wallis took over for 20 mins!!! No one minding Marcus and Wallis too crafty Not sure who was on him? Hibberd? Salem ? Harmes in form but not at half back May have done well on him. Need all contributing to best Saints as their RUN and CARRY will test us.
  20. P to J you are rather Deficient in some aspects of this Covid virus! There are Many of all ages who have contracted the virus who are not In the vulnerable category primarily 60 and over and Others who have pre existing conditions ( same ones that are not enabling the aged to recover in many instances) eg heart, respiratory, and pneumonia and other breathing and immune deficiencies which can be at high risk. Evidence of this group and indeed a Covid Patient is that the virus can affect the body and ongoing health arise as side effects in the future not necessarily serious straight away. Like the war veterans groups like this are notoriously ignored by health and Govt assistance down the track. The vaccine should play its part for all but so should each person in society consider all categories in society just because they have not been in hospital or subject to serious illness to the ones that side effects will or may diminish their quality of life in the future.0
  21. Yes but swallows and summers are still on the radar!!
  22. Not even a contest We are talking about a small defenders spot not an interceptor like Jake which Hore is mainly like for like. JAy is progressing nicely and live his Never Say Die attack on the ball and pace and aggression and line breaks We need that in our defence. Winder if he could play as a winger also go give us versatility? Hore not quick enough fir smalls and heavy enough for big talls Maybe a third or intercepting defender (when Jake out injured) but think Rivers will covet that spot by seasons end.
  23. I agree if we haven't any one else in mind, Is totally an outside mid long raking kick can pass and a pretty good mark. Always impressed me when he started at Lions and when he exited they lost some run. Look at his metres gained and score involvements as pace and aggression would suit our other wing. Halve the salary and maybe a bonus or two if he succeeds which I have no doubt if he was serious he would. Only NO if investigations say VERY DAMAGED GOODS as sometimes you have to back in your cultures and stage of windows your at. If not Maybe look at one of Tigers superfluous runners!
  24. BW why you are saying is true but what ai an saying that Fritta must start being smarter Surely every time he misses a relatively easy set shot it must sap his confidence. He is a great mark but we should be getting 2/3/4 even a 5 goal haul on his marks etc. Sharpening up his running for snap shots like the one vs Pies should be easy Ashe is highly skilled. A Dees supporter said yo me last week he thinks Fritta is a bit "soft" and I agree really that he is not assertive grouch in general play snd tjis is because he is nit strong or powerful enough. Our coaches will suddenly lose patience if they don't get to him. Your comment that 1-2 shots don't make a difference I believe that in Sst it was 3/4 snd that goes make a difference. I honestly believe Bayley could be a 40 plus goal kicker white easily dirt of half Gunstan snd other half Bruest. Tnis is his third season and if we are to get to the challenging fir a flag Bayley is one who has the ability to lift his standards by a big margin.
  25. While I think Bont and Wallis were elite ( no Tagger snd Poor defensive one on Ones mainly ) and largely contributed to the Digs win we had Bayley Fritsch have a number of opportunities to be BOG. Again his goal kicking accuracy from average difficulty AFL shots even allowing fir the breeze was very disappointing. His panic attempt at kicking the third quarter goal on the run ( surely could have run further ) a bad skill error. Snd his tackling ( tries hard but his body strength fails him rather than technique) is below par. BUT As we know he can mark and create more opportunities than any other forward. He leads well BUT why o why so deep to the boundary in the pockets???? Wallis hit his 4 goals from 40 m out in a small arc and never looked like missing from about the same no of shots. SO what is our forward Coach trying to improve Bayley's footy ? Clearly he has above average skills but he is negating these with dumb and disappointing errors in his game. We are getting only 2 at most goals ( some time only one) from 4/5/ or 6 Shots each game at conversion. ( BTW What a shocker shot from Melky fir a point also coach killing error not befitting him ) in the second quarter.!!) SO Fritta needs to work on his game to be an A grader in out firward setup ( say like Breust is/was to the Hawks. He needs to lead straighter got over his point kicking and put in some weight/ muscle to be even better in one on ones and for defensive pressure ie tackling! PLEASE BOB no he is best up forward but we can't afford his skill ratio of lower than 50 % in most categories!!! He is no better now than last year but his conversion and tactics are holding back his devroplment to a very good player who can win games fir us. Just seems as though everyone inc himself are satisfied with his out put and don't want him to improve WHILE we are losing out big time as a result! Goody etc What are you going to do? Urgently please?????
