The No T$ No B$ Thread
Thanks for the positive post re Round1 DPositive and the Covid plan response from the Melbourne crowd. However as I Have pointed out the likelihood of flu catchment is much much less due to the general population adhering to the Covid safe practices. Try just had been proved by the stats from 2020. As usual OD your comments re Covid Vaccine and the crowds at the footy Are at best Flippant and worst inaccurate and misleading. 1. The total numbers in the crowd Or the % of Crowd allowed in the ground are totally irrelevant to the ability of Each person to move about freely. Your ticket has your seat no. and you are in a Zone and restricted to that area to purchase food and/ or go to the bathroom. You cannot waltz freely into another Zone to speak to an Old crony Or even your Mother in Law! 2. Covid Vaccine The provision of Venues for Vaccine In Australia is a Specialised operation with mist GO's not able to handle the rollout in these initial stages. You asking your GP When you can have the vaccine is basically irrelevant if he is not one of the designated venues for receiving the jab. It is not a shambles that you can't have it at your local GP clinic if they are unable to or are not a Clinic dispensing the vaccine. The procedure is to go to the Aust Govt Health website and do the CHECKER test to ascertain what priority you are. Ie 1a, 1b or 2a etc. Once you get this answer then you can put your postcode in The box and about 5/6 choices Of locations nearby will be on the screen where you may Book for the vaccine once that Category has commenced. ( 1 a and 1 b are priority so far but 2a is getting nearer ). In the future the Covid Vaccine procedure May become like the flu vaccine but we don't know really at this stage. So waiting forvthe vaccine rollout fir your clinic is probably in vain and frankly if you are in either 1a or 1 b category you should be considering getting the jab ASAP for your own safety and your families as well. There is also a second booster to get within 2/3 weeKs or 12 weeks Depending upon which Vaccine either Sfizer or Astra Veneca you received. It is not the GP's real role in this procedure to notify all their patients that the vaccine is available unless they belong to a Clinic that is approved for dispensing the rollout. Hopefully that updates generally your knowledge on both Covid plans and vaccine availability.

Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand
You are not replacing Petty with Fritta it is May! it upsets the whole backline structure with Tommo and Lever playing intercept. Maybe Chandler is closest yo Ftitts but frsnkly he is very hard to match up, Some say Melky but really it is not 2018 any more. Last chance if Melky does not play well. Chandler best option.

AFLW: PF vs Adelaide
After another's brain fade with our forwards we badly need to go searching fir a classy big and medium forward. I mean a real footballer who kicks well and on both feet !! I think Krystal Petrovski was badly missed fir her crumbing and lacy skills, Need a definite KP player fir CHB or FB also. Great season though and many stepped up. Alrjough Mick Stinnear made good decisions about recruits and the changes made after our mid season slump CN we afford another forward debacle 3 games out of 11. Still haunts Us when we kick badly or face windy away conditions we are badly coached and not skilled enough up firward to kick enough goals Think our 3 losses We kicked 4.30 or similar and history Needs to be changed!

Clayton Oliver Re-Signs Until 2023
Yes McLure only mentioned his fact that he said Clarry saw Teague after last season to justify his allegation of truth. No Mention Whst a great get for Dees It is and how our flag prospects have 3 years at least of a super generational player starting at the coalface for us.

Royal Blue vs. Navy Blue
Sorry CB but the inference in your memory was the royal blue left you with greater memories of performances ie WINS Isnt that what it's about? You have introduced and posted this topic (from 1988 Experiences) and clearly infer success is recalled by the colour of the guernsey! You can't have it both ways denying your preferred guernsey when challenged! It's almost a testing of the waters to see what the D/L ers think albeit a tiny but tongue in cheek. Who knows where the post might end! Our traditional Club colours have been for the Majority Navy Blue and Red red! Its only the TV in 70's and a necessity for a clash jumper Now ( The one which I like incidentally and most D/L support for a real clash guernsey) That are really alternate of any length of time We are 4-0 and sailing as well as for 3 years (2018) or even 15 years ( 2006) and small irrelevancies like this are not I MO the time or place to Debate when we have so much good news and performance to concentrate on. Basically our MCG record has not been great since 2006 even more recently and since we started in 2017 to triumph at Marvel then some clash games results would be Memorable in some eyes. But our MCG home with the Navy and Red will now be more of a benchmark if we keep up our form that's started in 2021 in front of our fans again like last week against the Cats.

Trade Jack Viney Thread
While we will lose games I don't think you are crediting the team aspect of our stars and role players to combine and succeeed. It's a letter of how many good footballers are in form and connecting as a team with the same determination we are showing now.

The Zac Merrett Thread
Interesting comment what's Billing's done to earn that over A 5 year period? Chandler could easily develop as well as Billings as a home grown product.

The Zac Merrett Thread
But Jake is a HBF/er Not a KP player. How you play is your own special Talent you bring to the position. Jeremy Howe, Kade Simpson, Christian Salem Jaydn Short plus Ash and Lever? You made the disparaging comment on HBacks in general now want to pick and choose their Trade value. There is nothing wrong in what Melb did but we are only seeing now consistently Jakes true value including his Great leadership on display last Sunday. You have no idea how a 5 year older Lachie Ash will have developed as a player in defence as a HB. The jury would still be out in my other choices (Or any other HBacks) depending upon individual Opinion on their role or style. But basically they are HBacks playing a position which you would not trade for 2 first picks As you stated!!!

Ed Langdon on RSN (13/4/21)
Brian Dixon was My first great Melb winger completely different style. Not fast in running speed just an average floating punt kick ( which he often got to his boot very smartly) about 40m but superb high mark and very competitive. Usually got 20 plus possessions each week and played tall for a winger of around 5ft 10 ( or 170/3 cm). Played in our Glory Days (1954 to 1964) and In a number of our flags then. Langers is tracking to join our four Other greats Dicko, Alvsey Robbie ( our greatest winger but could play elsewhere) and Stinga. And he is looking as if he could be only the second of those to have a flag or flags on his CV, in a season or two.

So you don't agree with Jake Levers trade value?

Think the wing is going well in Gus's hands. Good disposal to forwards and filled in down back well after quarter time.

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
The extra coin he earns and the 2 first rounders we used ARE the price of TEAM leadership on top of his ability. Same as for Maysie. Leadership Really Is priceless and both Trades are Giving us back in spades with our team defence ethos. All players are now looking team first and look how the side is performing together. Helps add also when your top players are week after week performing up to their ability. Also helps when you have 6/8 top liners who are genuine impact players who change the results of games when they perform at a top level. Hence the dilemma in Coaches votes and our top 6 in Demonland!
-
Royal Blue vs. Navy Blue
Jumper colours have nothing to do with team performance !! What colour car do you drive !! ie same issue irrelevant. Look at our glory days photos and the navy blue is Demons in my opinion. PS have no prob with our away strip now never ever go back to the white strip please!!! Only big win was at Subiaco vs Eagles in 2017 when Tommy kicked that goal.

Pre-Grand Final Bye?
What about the concussion issue ? Got nothing up do with Local Comps who do their own fixtures around the AFL anyway. !

Trade Fritsch
Agree entirely No thought at all was IMO at Club level to trade Fritta. It was the impatient nellies who didn't understand his skills while he develops. We are too impatient for our recruits to progress and often it takes longer than we want EgEven Trac had a post of D/L ers wanting to trade Him in 2019! We need to take chill pills at times and put our faith in the Coaches and the players a little more. This rebuild has taken a while for the maturity to show but like a fine wine is prospering before our eyes. The vintage has not even been picked yet But a bumper crop is looking possible unless the weather ( injuries) prevent this happening.

Trade Fritsch
Not sure you really want to give Bayley his due credit for his ability. Yes our system and forward work is much better but it is too simplistic not to recognise that the last 2 weeks have been coming for a long time but poor conversion and possibly some lack of self belief and self pressure Imposed upon himself have delayed his progress. He Is a star and like many in the team is just starting to shine in all the right ways fir the team. It appears that right now all the players are enjoying their roles and are very positive about our development ( which I predicted all pre season BTW). We haven't hit the scoreboard properly yet so no reason to get too confident about any result as long as we play as a team the result will take care of itself.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
For a start there is not Nearly as much flu Now that people are taking care of themselves with masks sanitizers and whatever distancing is being observed. Also I believe about 20/25 % of the population are still not living life near back to normal for fear. The flu shots are to be taken 2 weeks after the Covid vaccine shots.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Potentially this is the best chance we have for immediate and/or sustained success Since 1964. We not only have 4/5 A graders they are playing like those elite players. But there are another 10 at least on our list who may improve to that status or close to. Our depth looks promising and real and for once a number of "role" players of genuine substance. Also isn't it great When players are played in position but can be moved fir team balance or yo change a game! BTW we may just have our best coaching group for half a century also. Sides this year who are looking yo succeed will need to stand up for the whole year as Tigers and Power will still be there when the whips are cracking.
