Well give some detail and reasons that this can't occur this year or 2022!? Thats what we build a list around and give the players a chance to perform under our Coaching panel and Environment.
-
I am talking about the realistic expectations of supporters being a chance each year for the 8 and flag in this toughest of competitions. Even the Hawks have fallen ! And we await the Cats plunge!!
-
More haste less speed!!!
-
Fine but all season remember !!
-
Well most others have remarked on his bulk and improvement PF. If I recall you have a set against Charlie so this bias is clouding your judgement. Lets see now that the practice games are starting on.
-
Finally some common sense It's like our flag it's got to be 2021 or 22 !!! Can't wait ! we are an impatient lot with very little common sense. This search has not gone on for 57 years like our flag hunt. It takes 5/8 years to build a team sometime and I feel that we are getting closer with our list. Time to back in the Coaches Inc. Choco snd Ooze. and our list Getting deeper each year with some real talent and X factor stRting out on the journey to unite with the existing talent Ready to fully blossom.

The MFC members reserved seat ticket is not compatible with the seat tickets for AFL games required to enter the ground so It's a tracing matter more than Anything else. They will have to work out the reserved seat Holders to keep their seats as reserved with the Club on their Covid $0.00 ticket entry. Even MCC and AFL members will have to purchase a Covid entry mobile ticket with their designated seat.

Well that's the challenge isn't it to maintain a chance of Finals year after year!!!
-
How do Dogs Saints Roos manage the same complex we are contemplating. In 2017/18 we were in the top 6 for attendances ( and probably 3 in 2018 if you add our Finals attendances ) so we can attract crowds at the G and interstate when our:side plays good football or contends.
-
A will and a way is far more important than a:supporter base for this to happen In other words you are saying Bartlett ( and Pert) are feedIng us porkies or just plain BS? Reckon you have to give the Committee handling this the benefit of the doubt until proved impossible.
-
No not the " new" Spargo Trackwatchers ( other than yourself obviously ) have remarked he is a:shoe in for around 1 His bulking up and boy becomes a man body is leading to a much more involved and mature player. I am a fan of Charlie as when he gets the ball a score or assist often result. That's in contrast to many you of our other forwards !

Apologies for leaving out Jayden Hunt who I M O could easily exchange with Laurie Harmes or Tomlinson.

Yes that may be the more regular figure but remember the Doggies won theirs at least 2 years before their time. It doesn't mean ALL players have to have 100 games together but at least Half and the list contains a very solid group of younger players and a couple Or more of older ones with more games. For instance Maysie Gawny BBB Hibbo Jets Jonesy TomMac Mitch Brown and Melky And Majak Daw are the latter. The ideal age and 100 games are Trac Clarry Gus Langers Tommo Jack V Jake L Harmesy The third group is the one you are pointing the bone at Say too young and not enough games is the largest Including Fritta Spargs Sparrow Jordon Pickett Jacko Riv Weid Lockhart Joel Smith Petty Chandler and Neitschke our draftees Rosman Laurie and Bowey plus any of the rookies Bradtke Farmer and Deakin Smith. Apologies for any missed players from any category. For a start Choco has already burnt !!! Or torn up The 2020 draftees birth Certs indicating he doesn't think age and by association experience is the most vital attribute needed for Round1 selection. Here is IMO our best chance of winning a flag this year if the team is selected as below assuming all players are fit and available. A mix of all categories is necessary so that our best 22 plus emergencies is ready for that one game in September!!! B Lockhart May Lever HB Rivers Petty Salem C Rosman Petracca Langdon HF Fritsch Tom Mac Spargo F Pickett B Brown Jackson R Gawn Oliver Viney I Brayshaw Sparrow Laurie Weideman Emerg Harmes Bowey Jordon Tomlinson If the 26 selected the following numbers are Above 100-200 games (4) May Tom Mac Ben Brown Gawn About 100 games and 4/6 seasons (9) Lever Salem Petracca Langdon Oliver Viney Brayshaw Harmes Tomlinson Under 4 seasons and 50 games (13) Lockhart Rivers Petty Rosman Fritsch Spargo Pickett Jackson Weideman Laurie Sparrow Bowey Jordon While most wont agree with this team, or even if they do acknowledge our Premiership window is not open yet due to youth I believe that depending upon improvement injuries and game plan execution it's not that Far fetched for us to be in the Top 4 with the double chance. There are Player such as Hibbo Jonesy and Joel Smith plus Chandler Neitschke and the rookies who might be playing well enough to be considered in the top 22 or 26. Our list would undoubtedly be Better this time next season with another 25 games into the third category but youth are resilient and won't hold back in their quest for glory and Hero status.

Then why are they heading along this path with us and the AFL? We have them on board seriously so Dan must be looking at funding at some stage. Otherwise it's a complete waste of time! If Dan can get along with ScoMo then he can do any thing for Victorians!!
-
For a:start I am surmising Fraser put on about 10 kg and grew 5 cm in height last year and is now got a mans physique and Confidence to go with it. It doesn't matter what he did in 2019 It what he does now on the track and I the practice games. If ever a recruit looked Ready to Play ( and is showing it in attitude and method) he is the one. Remember who are you going to select on the opposite wing to Langers?? Sticks out like a beacon so far this pre season I suggest. BTW Chico has torn up or allegedly burnt our 3 n ew recruits Birth Certs. That's how important age and experience are to him With our 2020 draftees!!!

PRACTICE MATCH: vs Richmond - Friday 26 February 2021
58er replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fair enough it's a hard one the theatre bugs have been crawling up walls yo see some. In Brisbane My local area group have had a50% capacity since returning in Aug last year but will be 100 % in March this year. But Qld and Vic are different cases . I masks were requested to be worn yo the best of my memory. -
On last years form Milkshake doesn't deserve a place in Round1. IMO he will have to produce form above his 2019 and 2020 average (Or best ). Not good Enough and experience and tagging role drummed up to keep him in is not good enough.
-
Only helped us win games vs Pies and GWS Read the training reports This pre season about Spargs form and physical development.
-
Why do you think Majak was recruited? Also don't you rate Jacko's work on the ball?
-
Sorry RM I hope you reprimand every Contributor who didn't answer or "misunderstood" CHF 's questions. My reply addressed all his selections and clearly indicated only ONE deserved to be the whipping boy in 2021 and the reasons why. Perhaps you misunderstood my reply !!!

It's basically 10 years service as a first base then other efforts and service to the Club.

PRACTICE MATCH: vs Richmond - Friday 26 February 2021
58er replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
It was before the lockdown ! The stage whatever conditions apply until they are altered and the Friday 6 pm was the time for lockdown conditions to Commence and apply for the 5 days.Thatshow would have been shut during lockdown of course. I assume that there was an inside mask requirement and elsewhere crowd figures about 50/75% of normal. On the Thursdsy prior. -
Not in the least except Hibbo on last season deserves his spot. But is he injured or what in 2021.? Add Rosman as he is ready in size build muscle speed and ability I believe to take the other wing opposite Langers. Reckon only ONE of Bowey or Laurie will get nod for around 1 and maybe Laurie up forward will get the nod as we have enough good defenders at this stage.

Interesting choice CHF. Many would have earmarked Charlie Spargo but the pre season track reporters have been nothing but praiseworthy so far. From a boy into man physique development to getting involved on a new level, greater speed and skill Spargs is not quite out if the woods yet but he looks as though he could even be a fan favourite If he performs as he is training. Sparrow does not even deserve a nomination as he was cut down with injury just as he was cementing his place last season. Again his training firm and involvement with the mids is nit the form fir a whipping boy favourite. Nor is Chandler who has let no one down in the Seniors after his 2019 brief stint. He has also developed size bulk and is doing all things to get an early 2021 chance up forward. Let's not ruin a youngster before he has a fair chance. The same would apply to Aaron Neitshke At this stage Jake Melksham is my favourite if he doesn't involve himself in contests with 100% passion and dedication that his career demands. He is IMO not in our best 22 ATM snd I am hopeful Jake will respond and earn his spot not just be selected on previous performance which is way back in 2018 really. A Goody favourite he is in the radar of many Dees fans if he doesn't produce in the practice matches and Intraclub hitouts to earn a spot in Round1. Jake is not alone either as AVB ANB Jets Harmes even Gus and Tommy are all in the "Best form recently 2018 " and that is not good enough in 2021 with our list (and very talented but mainly unproven young tyros Training their collective butts off ) to get an easy ride into the team this year. What about Tommo as suggested. In only one season he did not star as such and On the wing he disappointed no doubt but partly it's our team plan not kicking to his wing and him not being forceful or creative enough with leads. However his second half of the season at CHB was solid reliable and team orientated. Adam May never be a star player in a team but he is versatile and trustworthy and gives his all. In fact if all players played their role as he did in last half of 2020 we would have made the 8 and as such as he can also play when needed ruck and fill in up forward. Very handy team man in our best 22 at this stage of our development I say. No doubt we will unearth a new Oscar in 2021 but let's not throw a youngster under the bus yet please just to have a dip at some one if the team Disappoints at any stage.
