2025 Player Numbers
Itâs not really our choice about what no each player is listed. Either they negotiate or accept the final Guernsey no offered to them. Simple as we just watch on and marvel at the choice each year.

So those players mentioned have not contributed to the Swans making 2 of the last 3 Grand Finals? Think you are on your own on this one. same as the Suns they have a raft of Academy recruits. Make a difference also. Brisbane now have the 2 Ashcrofts and Fletcher plus Marshall all will be vital players in their effort to go back to back! Donât rhink Mac Andrewâs would slot in our team at CHB or CHF? And improve our footy. Thatâs exactly what the idea of the Northern Academies are to assist the NSW and QLD teams to be competitive and it is working before our eyes.

What about Senior Coach? Even better I think than Footy Dept Manager.

2024 Player Reviews: #23 Shane McAdam
Trouble is that you are picking out one issue you believe is nonnegotiable. Isnât kicking goals as a forward the same. Donât see you picking out Chin or Spargs if they donât kick goals because they may tackle more or go some chasing. I think you just want to have a whipping boy and Fritta is easy prey because he plays a more highly skilled game and you want him to be a beast. He has kicked about 250 goals averaging 1.6/7 per goal per game and gets many if those goals are special ones that no other player gets regularly. Our forward line would be hopeless without Fritta and tell me how many goals you reckon are lost by Fritta not tabling as hard or chasing as far or ferociously. Short memories of Bailey being 2nd best on ground in the GFinal with six goals. And it does matter what mix of players you have in your forward line not all should be clones. Look for Frittaâs good points.

Defensive forward - ANBâs replacement?
And that does not include Kolt or Jeffo who I overlooked. Boy we would have to stuff things up badly for this lot not to be a vast improvement on our goal scoring of the last three years. This group has Finals potential written all over it. Please challenge my positivity.

Defensive forward - ANBâs replacement?
The spot for Windsor is in the centre where his running and class plus goal kicking potential would transfer along with Lindsay on the wing perhaps Sharp on the HFF our attack with Kossie Fritta JVR Turner ; not sure Petts will play forward and Petracca and Langford (all class both of them) our goal kicking potential is much higher with a better system devised by Chaplin also. Chandler McAdam ( if fit) .Petty and Bowey may provide extra depth on occasions. Even Newboy Johnson might develop his craft for a role at CHF or FF to provide ballast and physical strength enabling the smalls to shine. Also Lingers and Rivers will be dangerous either from sneaking down or long range to add even more scoring power. No rest for the defenders if all these parts and different role players are floating around. Room for Gawny as well!! Should be happy forward days ahead if our system is strong, mobile and fast paced.

The Kalani White Thread
Really The best thing might be for him to spend his time away from all of that and go with the Club he has loved since he was at state school .He has probably grown up ( as a very committed Dees fan) looking forward to playing on the MCG in the hub of footy. Its not easy but I certainly donât share your half glass full idea for him with as much as enthusiasm. Think crowds at the G and compare vs Suns also. I think without being rude he might be better off in Melbourne away from all the family pressure doing what he has longed to do ever since being able to hold or kick a footy.

Defensive forward - ANBâs replacement?
No solution given except play ABAndC. The reason Riv is being introduced into our mis is that he is quicker and can play more outside and running. I donât think itâs robbing a flanker so our half backs can evolve into AFL standard in McVee Salem AMW Bowey Howes and possibly Xavier Lindsay who like Hayden Young has blossomed at Freo. Potential improvement in those half backs given injury free runs.

Defensive forward - ANBâs replacement?
Really get off Frittas back. Not every single player is strong defensively. He is not there to be defensive but to kick goals and create opportunities to score. Other players like Chandler and Spargo donât kick quite enough goals over the period. It will be interesting to see what evolves.

Defensive forward - ANBâs replacement?
Thatâs what we got Sharp for isnât it? I would rather give Sharp a free rein to use his skills in running and creating. We must not get too defensive as a priority against attack which is still the best form of pressure on the opposition. Perhaps Bowey could go forward. Lingers must still be allowed to perform his role which is crucial even more than Nibblers role. Other teams donât have to have a Nibbler perhaps itâs time we tried a game plan without this defensive mechanism.

2024 Player Reviews: #23 Shane McAdam
Fair enough G There are some similarities in their play but Shane looked fast and exciting in his Crow highlights. His marking was a highlight as he dies have some ability to take species (as opposed to Kossie). He really owes us to turn up and be at his best yo give us all the forward options we now are starting to assemble. Langford would also be pinching a half forward role possibly early on as well. Letâs see next week how fit Shane is. Canât wait.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 22nd November 2024
Agree Werridee I have 2020 vibes around a 2025 season comeback like 2021. Refer to my Prelim Final team in your posting for Round 1 with about 4/5 changes. Thatâs got to happen IMO and I would include Lindsay after seeing his highlights and JTâs wrap on him. He may be on a wing or HB flank like Hayden Young was in his first year. Also I believe The Duke should moved to the centre to straighten us up on occasions as well as kick 15/20 goals as he develops. Bowey could also as mooted in the track reports could also be in the wing mix which would be good I believe. Even Half forward is not out of the question. Also AMW could be HF like he was at Casey.

Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
Lindsay will be a more impactful player than McRae who was a very good half forward flanker. XL will be a very strong versatile and exciting connector from half back wing or half forward as well as an outside mid. He might even share the centre position in time with the Duke. Looks like his disposal is very good and I suspect he is quite tough to beat one in one Irvin the clinches.

Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
Christian had the extra problem of coming back from his 12 month leg injury and debuted in about Round 5/6 vs Saints at Marvel in 2015 I think. To be fair Trac did not really hit his straps and become elite until the 2020 season after starting in a practice game vs Crows at Casey Fields kicking a goal or two to put the competition on notice. I am not like you Maldon Boy I have the feeling HL will be playing from Round1 on. Also that Xavier Lindsay may also make it instead of say Chandler. Obviously practice match and pre season form are the guides here but both players look elite with special skills. Time will tell no doubt.

Welcome to Demonland: Aidan Johnson
If he needs a season to be ready itâs a waste of selection really.â i am astounded that you wouldnât beat the bid for Riak given his development and potential. JT must know more than meets the eye surely so hope Aidan can help our ruck /forward situation and also serve the purpose identified by his selection.

Welcome to Demonland: Aidan Johnson
No Jeffo is a born forward with the right instincts and associated skills. But Disco is learning fast and JVR competes for his life and his ability will surface for 40/50 goals soon. Youth is on our side but this left field selection might be a bit Frampton inspired wih bash plus crash to boot. Maybe he jumps on opposing teams no 1 players back and sends them to hospital.

2024 Player Reviews: #23 Shane McAdam
You shouldnât be mentioning Fritta in any sentence in the same vein as Shane Mac. Fans are continually on Frittaâs back because they expect him to play contrary to his assets. Fritta is not ANB he has other football skills. Let him play those and continue to kick 40 plus goals each year. Yes his intensity is sometimes questionable but I donât think he means it. Itâs just him. Heâs our best forward and he can improve by virtue of others around him also playing at a higher standard. He will I believe this year .

Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
That may not be possible to add âexplosivenessâ to his virtues. His strength will still be a huge asset and size also. If he was that slow it would already be an issue possibly so his all round game is in very good order. At 18 very few recruits can have no issues so all are trained on these and generally to improve at all times not just when they arrive at the Club. Should be a super player ready to AFL by next years Round 1 probably.
