  1. Sick and tired of the word of some D/Lers with Jacko as "potential" . Clearly he will be a better player as he gains more experience but Jacko is a serious player NOW in a premiership winning team. There would only be about 3 to 5 other ruck players in the AFL now that we would consider as a fair replacement for him if he leaves. He has helped our team by direct play on the ball change a number of games in his first 50 AFL outings the highlight being the GF last year in the third quarter. He is a serious and talented player now and not just "potential " who has a serious X factor with agility, ground ball and extraordinary midfield skills plus the ability to score goals and be a real team player in each game. His ruck craft will be stronger and more competitive no doubt once his body matures but make no mistake we will miss him greatly if he decides to leave NOW (or in the future ). Let's hope he stays for a couple more years or all his career for some more flags and success. He is a serious player now about 3/4 complete not just a potential star to be dreamed about into the distant future.
  2. Looks like a BBB clone !!
  3. Agreed RD last year we signed up 1/2,000 around or before Finals time but no GF guarantees are open this year but other Finals at the G are still a big lure.
  4. Just as in this frame hopefully Dogga is following Clarry on a contract extension. Well done Clarry and MFC. Ensures we will be in a window for 5/8 years at least especially if we keep Dogga for a few years. Congtats Clarry you are probably going to be the greatest Demon ever by 2030 ( or Trac) or someone else like Dogga if he stays long enough. Maybe Could trigger off Angus and Dogga deals sooner than expected Go Dees our bad weeks are gone and sunshine ahead in 2022.
  5. Absolutely a star was born!
  6. Great news. Looked a player ( just like Petty did) from his highlights reel and hasn't disappointed at all. Great effort to impress with only One pre season and to break into the best defence in the AFL. Will be interesting to see if he can win a spot in the backline ( in competition with Tommo) as we may need for team balance to look at Harry Petty up forward this season to bag that flag. Looks like he could be a fan favourite with a nickname "Disco". All the best Dan get over your injury and go for it over the next few weeks!
  7. Oh boy oh boy RD take your "OD" hat off please. He would get rid of 13,000/15,000 members now you don't want any more !!
  8. That's a matter of opinion HT that you don't like her standard but it doesn't alter her career title one little bit. I happen to believe she is one of the better sports journalists of her time. Better than Kornes Barrett and plenty of others including Sam McClure. I rate Eddie McQuire with her for accuracy ( she at least checks out and substantiates most of her articles) but he tries to railroad and speak over all others continuously to get his opinion heard. Martin Flanagan is a cut above most and his books lend proof of that.
  9. Don't think Angus is "returning home" as such. He is playing in his home state now. Whenever has the home factor been involved it's with his brother who moved from Vic. To play with Freo. His father may have lived in WA and I am unsure about the Brayshaws WA an Vic years except that they are a damn fine family and Angus is of that stock as a footballer and person.
  10. No they won't Each case is separate and that's the way it should be. Very few things in life are 100% one way so decisions are made for reasons at that time. If Dogga goes and we win this second flag it can only be described as an unmitigating success. Dammed if you do dammed if you don't that's Nic Nat vs Wattsy and Dogga vs ? It won't define JT and his teamif we get 2 flags or not. He still is the best in the business.
  11. Agree about Maxy but you are forgetting Rivers in full flight is in our best 23. Bedford should be in also if not then Tmac if fit or Weid if need more on the ball height and skills.
  12. The thought of us playing in a GF without Kossie ( and his uncompromising football defensive skills and his cat like pouncing on the ball and goaling plus his beautiful joy and love of the game in his smile ) has me in a wet eye state. Just not negotiable in any situation I can think of.
  13. Pates you are correct k no CYB Your completely inaccurate " Stab" of crowd no's allegiance is a joke. In last quarter when your team is 50 points behind usually a mass exodus occurs. No such exodus happened from any area. Not Sure where most Lionswere sitting maybe lower Ponsford def not in MCC Northern Southern 1,2 and 3 levels. Noise was far greater from Dees snd that clapping from MCC and Res Seat MFC Holders in M lower area as players hit the interchange was season best. Reckon 4/5,000 might have been BCNA at most 3/5 Lions so a good 28,000 we're Dees IMO. Similar to Freo crowd . Better as a Thursday night. Where do you sit CYB? Or are you in a drone looking at the stars ? Please don't invent crowd issues again. Good that you will have to wait till the Pies and Blues games to guess your fantasy game. Care to be a clairvoyant on likely NUmbers 7/8 weeks in advance?
  14. Agreed give him some tasks and licence to harm ANY WHERE on the ground.
  15. Enough to sign a big contract on !!
  16. Good point LH Thought Trac did so much in the packs as inside when you look at his game, kicking is still a bit off but he's 80% near his top and back in business. Thsts why he is a real chance to be there when the whips are cracking in Sept. Wanted Rivers back before game still do but no one deserves to be dropped not Bowey either.
  17. Sorry it's only 20 games I think missed due to injury earlier this year.
  18. Has Viney ever played 21 games ( since our run started in Round 20 last year) as well ? He is nearly right up with the Big 3 (Gawny Trac and Clarry) that's his value to our team. Also has a lot to do with fitness and a great pre season.

That's a blight on the game previously really having only 20 players. Surely 23 gives greater options to win and produce better footy considering the greater pace the game is played at now and possibly more injuries. Old Dees views are as he admits he prefers VFL game atmosphere to AFL atmosphere.!! He has apparently never been comfortable with the footy of the 21st century and all his negativity is as a result of this view. Any improvement or increase in the game is not a positive. If course a person is allowed their opinion but on every comment or post on this site it becomes so repetitive and negative. His most crazy example is he wants MFC to never have membership over 50,000. It's too many people and too crowded ! So he doesn't go. Talk about a Club killer! Let's not become a reason for lack of development for MFC. We need all the fans we can get while we are up and running.

So May vs Daniher Oliver vs Neale Smith vs Langdon Fritsch vs Starcevich Hibbo vs Cameron No one on Ones really ? Amazing how good things were in the Old Days !! Old Dee. Strange I Don't remember us winning a Flag in the 80's or 90's. Msybe it's our memories that have become distorted after 30years. Half the people going now were not alive then to remember anything so it's half irrelevant the 90's and 80's.

Yeah let's cater for the non-fans great idea Roy. Please don't bother take real fans instead. Sounds like you would invite all your enemies to your Birthday Party !! we cringe when the AFL make strange decisions but you seem up to want to take it to another level. ( Below )
  22. Yes I was going to say many D/Ler's will say forget him he's too small !!
  23. Like the INS but not sure of the OUTS M. Brown (omitted) and Disco ( conc) Chandler ( will never make it and is one sided player has no right foot) At the moment Skill errors can be improved but lack of ball can't do Harmsey should survive. Sparrow needs a med sub and Dunstan was too good to ignore at Casey on Sunday,
  24. I agree He ( Walker) is in the Tmac mould/style that competes and brings the ball to ground or marks it. We need the ball retained in the forward zone for the smalls to feed off. That's why Weid is not a success as he is pushed about and doesn't assist other forwards, and goes missing more often than not. Send him to the backline at Casey next week and before the end of the year he may be good enough in defence and Petty can do some cameos up forward.
  25. NO ONE has learnt from the Joel Smith saga at Casey 2/3 years ago and we had the great DB in charge then. Not sure the successor from Brisbane or Goody are heeding any lessons nor was Trac with the flu/ gastric and now looks slow and banged up. Time for Bedford Rivers and Majak to speed up and toughen our team vs Lions.
