  1. DD I amazes me we have JVR ready to debut and MJ starting on his training wheels plus Tmac BBB, the resting rucks Petty and Adams who has played forward and the Schache about to erupt at his new Club. oh and Fritta best medium forward in the game. 50 goals plus every year. Why do we need another tall forward???
  2. Not sure some of this reflective pre Cmas research is bringing any real groundbreaking "pretty wild" events to alter our Cmas menu as a result on the 2023 season. My comments on your comments are that none of this is "pretty wild" in a 23 round fixture involving 18 Teams. Lets put it back a trifle to a much more mundane level that won't interfere with our concerns on this fixture ! 1.We haven't played Crows YET with a crowd likely but not a often event! 2. Given ours and the Blues win/ loss records since 2011 is this a surprising event playing each other in the major "Prime Time" Friday hi after all this time? 3., 4., 5, 6 are all "first time" events none of any real significance in a major fixture where we are the major player participating now since 2021. 7. And 8. Hardly newsworthy playing Swans in a 3.20 time slot SINCE 5 years ago and Eagles on Sunday arvo THREE years ago. 9. Bulldogs at MCG in front of a crowd on Sat night at the G since 2014 is not momentous when we have missed only ONE game scheduled due to Covid restrictions. 10. First time doubled up on playing North and Carlton since 2017. Ground breaking hardly! I am sure one of our eagle eye D/Lers could come up with the counter claim we have played so and so 4 times out of 7 years which is more revealing and newsworthy. In reality the D/L ers that have a grip have on first read on our 2023 fixture picked out the following points/facts which concerns us more which I have listed. A. 25 the times drawn to play vs Cats at the Cattery in 32 years since AFL in 1990! B. Similar style of record to A above playing both West Coast and Adelaide in Perth and SA since turn of the century and at MCG about 4 times in same time period! C. 5th or 6th visit to Blundstone Arena as away team in last say 8 years. Cwood never scheduled in that period nor Bombers also I believe.(As a comment on this I reckon when ( and if ) Tasmania make their Brand New Stadium debut in Round 1 in 2026 or 2027 it's about certain that the Pies and/or Bombers will both be the first 2 sides scheduled to get maximum bums on seats at that venue. Not us!! That's what makes me "pretty wild" but I mean angry though. D. What's even wilder I think that for the 5th year in a row we finish the H and away season to play interstate or at the Cattery IN R 23! These A to D facts are far more testament to weaknesses in the Fixture of the AFL as I reckon an average researcher could pick out your points for EACH Club in which is a consequence hardly ground breaking or "pretty wild". Any one up for that task? PRIZE Free ticket to see Tassie Devils play the Pies in Round 1 in 2026 at the Beaut New 23,000 Stadium in Hobart!. D/Lers HOP TO IT. Sorry Kangas no more Tas Govt games handouts. Is Arden St available for blockbusters again any more?
  3. Can understand your reluctance re Junior tickets and prices etc. but you lost me when you are not happy GFG doesn't provide a reduced price to your ticket. Reason is the GFG is a MFC initiative and GF prices are AFL prices for Finals tickets!
  4. Because I got the GFG three or four Years ago with a General Admission and have paid for it ever since. I haven't asked for any change since also.
  5. Wrong on two fronts IMO Mon. There were 2/3 glaring examples of selfishness the Handball miss to Petracca 15 m out and he would have run into a an open goal is the worst, another from memory was a pass instead of a shot which he flummed. The reason you are saying that it is I guess you are only watching the ACTUAL goals not the assists which is what he was carpeted for. I know that would never have happened in 2021 for sure. Kossie can burn teammates when he tries goal snaps from the pockets sometimes but he rarely if never misses the very obvious assists. The other statement on losses to teams we beat is only half right. We lost to Brisbane in Finals and beat them in R23 by 64 pts. Lost to Swans in Finals after we lost to them in R12. Hope you enjoyed 55 wonderful Fritta goals from a very underrated player anA grader I regard. And you would have enjoyed your music at the same time a couple of very underrated artists as well.
  6. It doesn't have to be much 5/6 kg loss = 0.25% Speed increase and attitude plus enthusiasm is the diff between old Bill Laurie and The new Bailey Laurie. His weight loss will be vital in his attempt to bridge the gap in the VFL and AFL. There is a danger most of last years recruits will pass him by if he does not get a fast start to the season.
  7. Test = rest Changed = changes
  8. Thsts not correct I have GA mship plus GFG.
  9. In my opinion it Wasn't a total test player situation it was changed to the team also she some players were below their best or others slightly injured and needed a break fir a round or cam back too early from injury. All 3 reasons killed us. coach selectors and possibly medical staff a to blame IMO.
  10. That's a bad call on Riv ( Pig mk11) as he would consider himself as just about the best looking Rooster on the list at Demonland!!
  11. Binman and Old 55 With the typo looking like you included the Song I naturally thought that it was " Desire etc " that you were including in your reasons for the Dogs drop in 2022, not being able to handle that. You May criticise that Binman but IMO it's crazy but not the worst of opinions about footy I have heard in D/L. And about my aggression yes I am forthright uncompromising and direct on occasions because it generally an issue that is being looked at wrongly IMO. My responses are on occasions too personal snd can be disrespectful at times. But usually it's again about Tmac to the wing he has a tank!! You need more than that and he did it only as a cameo to warm him up in 2018 before he was switched to CHF, Really he is great and reasonably clever when on the run but his turning circle is just slightly less than the Queen Mary. Sorry point take but it's fun having a little run in in writing!!
  12. More than half of JJ's play stifled the momentum in the wing but it doesn't happen when he is on the ball. So the excuse is not realistic. He and the midfield coach should develop patterns for him to kick to teammates.
  13. Reckon Riv has the size strength and pace to go with mids and smalls of the opposition. He is a big unit now but not sure his one on one skills will match Hibbo's.
  14. We looked slow in the last half of the season especially in the last half of games because of the niggling injuries the players were selected with. ehen we play well we are fast movers of the ball but our game plan also stopped run snd needs to be rejigger back to 2021 standard. It has nothing to do with our age mire to how we play and the lack of aggression in our game plan snd general fitness/ minor injury issues of selection.
  15. To think the "desire" song had any thing to do with the Dogs finishing eighth last year snd resultant pressure is laughable. In the real scheme of things it's a minute wrapped up in a season of no real consequence for their season. It might not be even mentioned when they play us. If you believe anything else you have no idea of the psyche of modern day sport!
  16. ManDee Kent and SONS Go back to Gawny playing loose in defence marking forward thrusts of the opposition. He didn't do that and still thinks led the saviour of the forward line. I believe we have enough tall forwards back free of injury or coming on (JVR) now that Gawny is best saving goals by his superior marking.
  17. "Tried too hard" that was Goody trying to keep the same 23 together snd not drop some players that were clearly under form or carrying injuries snd came back into the AFL team without an appropriate VFL preparation as a grounding viz Riv Salo Lever Gawny etc That's why we were banged up and too tired in the second half of games after Round 10! Also no new players developed in 2022 to replace out of form and keep pressure on the AFL team. Font believe Selwyn Griffiths is to blame for this it is the coach and selectors.
  18. The "next full forward " who nearly out marked Maxy was MJ if you look. Kye was out of position but Jeffer was spot on only at the back of the pack. That's his skill and number whatever top wood/iron it is in golf ie. marking. Kyle seems very competent also but MJ may well be very very special and JVR relegate to CHF in the future plan if our forward line.
  19. What about loose on the backline shuring up our defence?
  20. Yes but can Blake do something when and how he gets the ball ? I think he is a top prospect and despite his physical development he may need another pre season to really stand up to AFL style pressure. Whether he debuts as 23 Rd man which now has no special relevance to injury it will be well longed for as his ability and versatility ( other than his pace and energy as a bonus) are universally recognised. A contract extension now makes perfect sense and he and JVR are setting the pace for our 2021 draft recruits and are well deserved extensions at this stage Who will of the 2021 drafters or young prospects will be next to extend their term? Taj, AMW, or Judd or maybe Deakyn?

Rab that's like saying if you don't have events like the disgrace on Capitol Hill you don't get President's like Donald Trump. You surely can't claim Sat nights response to an A League decision is just a result of the oozing passion of a football ( soccer) mad crowd and should be tolerated as it's in bred in the sport and part of its culture. And furthermore if you can't or don't like the AFL crowds level of passion please take yourself back to the mother country (or Europe ) and relive the next red blooded football created war which ends up being a blot on society to fans and especially children who genuinely love the sport. Your dose of "Demon Spirit" seems vastly opaque and in need of a recharge.
  22. You "suspect" and are "not sure" Gouga so your comment wouldn't even pass the "Pub Test" let alone make it as evidence in a local court of law. Re read your post Gouga and you are actually saying if you live in a cottage snd a two story mansion is next door you are querying if it's any point in getting to know your neighbour unless he gives you a handsome monetary gift or contributes with a fancy brick fence between your properties. Yes times have changed but the 20,000 plus MCC members who barrack for the Dees are our biggest advantage and especially those with a MCC/MFC membership. Which of the below would you like to approach the MCC Chairman about if you were Kate Roffey? 1. Training/Admin facilities base in the revamped Shane Warne Stand in 2027? 2. Permission for use of the MCG to replace Goschs Paddock as our city based facility each week for pre and in season training sessions. 3. A seasonal $5 mill donation to MFC. 4. Each Of the 66,000 MFC members have a free one day per year experience in the MCC members reserve on a day to suit themselves including free eats and open bar package of four hours. 5. MCC donate an annual trophy for one of our players based on best MCC values Sorry for the cynicism but that's about the level of contribution your veiled post made to the topic. Good luck to Fred Oldfield in his position and let's just ensure as a start our respective Clubs doors are open to talk when and where cooperative views or plans strengthen the MCC/MCG or Clubs objectives. This In the unlikely happening of brown paper cash bags being left in our change rooms or not!
  23. Good summary D4life very true snd so much upside from our new players snd couple of good Casey Dees boys JVR snd Chandler.
  24. So true 11 players in X-rays the week before Lions game I heard!! So much upside and 4 new players Brodie Grundee Lachy H JVR and Tmac !! Also Bowey and Schacky look real like the real deal!
  25. Well we were 5th in 2022 behind the four big Clubs and ahead of the Cats who came in 6th.
