  1. The ailment occurred as van Rooyen was leading in the front third, with the concern similar to what the young forward has dealt with in the past. van Rooyen wasn't risked for the remainder of the game, with Melbourne able to call on draftee Aidan Johnson as his forward replacement for the remainder of the match. Speaking after the 19-point loss to the Dockers, Melbourne assistant Troy Chaplinprovided an update on the hampered forward. "He's had it before but not to that extent," Chaplin said. He went to lead out and it just grabbed, so we tried to get him up and going in the first quarter, hence why 'AJ' came on. "It just wasn't worth the risk. He's pretty sore but he'll be fine for Round 1. He'll have a few days off and get some time with the family (in WA) and he'll be ready to go for Round 1. He'll manage (the concern) and we'll look at his preparation, but it just sort of came out of nowhere for him."
  2. Enjoying Freo fans having a go at the media about this, as if they haven't been frothing over Warner/Pickett articles etc.
  3. Bit of a difference in predictions here (https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/winless-tigers-hawks-on-the-rise-our-experts-predict-season-2025-20250206-p5la7d.html) Jake Niall - 6th Michael Gleeson - 8th Peter Ryan - 11th Jon Pierik - 13th Andrew Wu - 6th Marc McGowan - 9th Sam McClure - 11th Caroline Wilson - 4th Emma Kearney - 12th Libby Birch - 13th Bob Murphy - 11th Mathew Stokes - 13th Scott Spits - 7th
  4. Is this 100%? One of my mates lives in Pasco Vale and BBB goes to the same gym. So he's gone somewhere with better facilities and a very short drive from where he lives, a no-brainer for him but a loss for us. Sad news, loved having him on board.
  5. I like our current one as well, simple and classic but i'm not against a bit of variety on the logo on certain kits. Understand there are some financial ramifications here as well though. One thing some soccer clubs have been doing is changing emblem on different kits, as seen below Manchester United having full crest on Home (pictured) and Away kit but a special logo on the 3rd strip .
  6. i regret not getting a 'give 'em hell' shirt saw a fella in a run for one the other night and got annoyed again
  7. Article covers a few things - Green's role/life, Trac, Oliver, Culture, Gameplan Caulfield project etc, but the bit people will be talking about its this Pickett’s future Pickett last week addressed persistent reports that he’d texted friends at Fremantle that he’d join them at the Dockers next year, conceding he was homesick at times. Green did not shut down the speculation. “The Kozzy Pickett scenario, people will talk about that all year. I think we’re always about the player first. We love Kozzy as a teammate, he is such a lovable character around the place,” Green said. “The thing that our members and supporters have got to know is if they (reports) come to fruition and he wants to go to Perth, then we’re going to be OK. He’s got three years on his contract, so we’re going to get two or three first round draft picks. “So we either keep the player that we love and respect – and we want him to stay – but if for family reasons he wants to go back, that’s OK. Fremantle or West Coast or any other club can come up with three first round draft picks or he’s not going anywhere. I can tell you that – he’s not going anywhere unless we as a club get a deal we want.”
  8. It's an interesting one, you clearly get a better picture up in the box and you can still get your message across through phones and other coaches but i reckon you're right, a new raft of personnel may well have have brought on the change. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts for. Would like to see Choco be the main voice of the bench.
  9. The good news is that Foxtel’s 1.4m residential subscribers will have not have to pay to get access to the new Warner content, that will be available for Foxtel customers the same day that it’s posted to Max according to Foxtel management. Binge, which has 1.6 million subscribers, who will lose access to the majority of the HBO library from March 31. That is still a big blow for them, Imagine they'll lose a significant chunk of those Binge subscriptions. ESPN may keep the exclusivity up with Foxtel/Kayo - we'll find out in a few months. Speaking of ESPN they've just mutually ended their 35 year deal with Major League Baseball. Streaming Wars very fluid.
  10. I know Richmond were inexperienced but would love to kick 21.6 though.
  11. They did some partnership with Football Australia but not sure how much traction that got https://www.footballaustralia.com.au/news/football-australia-partners-lego-australia-build-a-more-inclusive-future-football
  12. According to reports, GWS Giants rising star Finn Callaghan has already rejected a verbal offer from St Kilda and is expected to commit to the Giants beyond this season. The 21-year-old’s contract expires at the end of 2025 and recent reports claimed the Giants had made Callaghan’s contract extension the club’s priority over the off-season. Now Channel 9’s Tom Morris reports Callaghan is close to ticking off a four-year contract extension with the Giants — valued at around $4 million. According to the report, St Kilda came hard for Callaghan’s signature and was preparing a 10-year, $17 million offer. It would have been the richest contract in the history of the AFL. We like to complain about not being able to snare a big name player, but surely there is a player out there who'll bite off one of these mammoth St Kilda contracts, just shows how "equalisation" doesnt always exist for the smaller clubs.
  13. It's an interesting one, I know there have been a few injuries so we'll see what happens. Whilst we would benefit if they did extend this year (which i'm doubtul) it would make me feel a little annoyed especially if you compare this year to last year Carlton lose Pick 3, a raw skinny kid and might be able tor replace him compared to us last year we lost Gus a 150+ game premiership player and couldn't do anything until midseason. Guess we don't have big boy bargaining power though.
  14. TBH I probably wouldn't have recognised him before, Sounds like he has quite a few mini-pre-seasons and weight sessions on the agenda.
  15. I'd personally like to see the pre-season window extended until a few hours before the first game of the season.
  16. And the Saudi Premier League lol
  17. This list is a disgrace, has left off Jefferson, Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, and Lucifer
  18. This is what upset me about Gus, medically retired (by the AFL?) a few days after the deadline and we didn't receive any concession. I don't mind the "windows" but for pre-season there should also be an element of discretion if something occurs before Round Zero/One in my opinion.

Not just unbearable, there's just aura of toxicity/tension at any Collingwood game. Whenever we play them i don't wear any Dees gear.
  20. MFC website has McAdam as a Medium forward, the injury announcement has him as a small forward, he's shrinking as well poor guy. Timing is everything and worked out in Henderson's favour. Happy to have him on board - especially as we considered him in the draft.
  21. He's back in Melbourne at training per GW
  22. Seems everyone is keen to draw a line through LK. Is this because they don't see the promise or they want additional players through the SSP. I think Roy serves a purpose as we are a bit low on small forwards but we may get more out of Culley/Henderson. Was keen to see LK after a full AFL-Pre-Season but seemingly that's been derailed.
  23. We'll definitely lose people (both in attendance and viewership) to the F1. We're starting 20 minutes after the race starts too. Perhaps it may have been wiser to give us the 12:35pm slot for the armchair viewers. But i'm sure we'll put a respectable crowd. I'm not attending either as I have a function that day - which is not ideal,
  24. Any of you gurus able to shed some light on the content Kysaiah Pickett: Melbourne Demons forward responds to exclusive report he wants to play for Fremantle Dockers
  25. DAZN are feuding with the French soccer League at the moment about payments. DAZN, the streaming platform holding rights to broadcast eight out of nine weekly Ligue 1 matches, has recently withheld a portion of its instalment payment to the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP). This decision stems from DAZN's concerns over increasing piracy and the LFP's insufficient support in combating this issue. Consequently, DAZN has paid only half of the €70 million owed for February, withholding the remaining €35 million It's a good things they're getting some Saudi money soon because DAZN is yet to comment but its decision to bring this matter to a head earlier than expected comes only two weeks after it reported a £1.2billion loss for 2023, a result that meant Anglo-Russian businessman Len Blavatnik, its majority shareholder, had to pump in another £665m into the company, taking his overall investment in DAZN to £5.3bn since its launch in 2007.
