i think as soon as after the draft when the first SPP period opens we can make him inactive effectively having a list of 45 players for all of next season including KK or the full 44 without him
-
he's fourth string, definitely ahead of TMac if u go on last seasons form, also doubling up as ruck support its necessary to have ample talls as its impossible to have the same flexibility as u can with mids/forwards covering for each other when theres a stack of injuries without completely restructuring ur setup which obviously has repercussions
-
geez u have to remain nervous, 2023 sounds like the perfect time to partner him alongside oscar allen and phase jack darling out if u ask me, hopefully we make finals so as to convince him to stay
-
shame there haven't been more follow this path recently
-
is N.Nitschke related to A.Nietschke by any chance ;p
-
neita and omac delisted one with a promise to be rookied. any guesses which one
-
yeh i get that but you're not going to reject another year if its the only chance u have of playing afl footy? lockhart will get promoted next year coz we're going to see a fair few drop off the senior list for sure
-
aim higher, i've seen enough mediocrity in my 20 years
-
you're definitely allowed to be a rookie for 3 years i thought. isn't it after 3 you have to make a decision up or out? imo Chandler, MBrown, Lockhart all rerookied OMac delisted Nietschke, Bedford, Jordon all retained as Snr listed players Bradtke retained as B that fills 35snr players and 3A 1B rookies allowing us to pick up 3 players with currently 18, 19, 28, 50 however i expect one more trade up the first round order and then we have 1A spot to look at a delisted FA. if i had to make a call on one rookie to be delisted alongside OMac it would definitely be Chandler as i dont see him getting senior opportunities next year due to numerous options as a small forward. we would then delist nietschke and re-rookie him and take all 4 picks in the draft passing at 89
-
deserved a fairer crack - have no idea how u can get picked round 1 after a whole pre season and then fall so out of favour especially in such a spluttering forward line
-
cedric cox requested a trade to WA and received no interest, wouldnt mind him for a year or two off HB even if he still pursues a move west after that. ronke is still OOC too at the swans and could be an alternative small forward option for 1 yr see what he's got eggmolese-smith is also ooc still at richmond and has done some nice things off hb there but its a hard side to crack, i guess he'd have his eye on houlis spot from next yr on

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

was this not josh hope who got released by melbourne victory in the a-league? -
the trick is as far as we know it, the universe is endless in time and as it appears so is afl football so... why not trade out a future pick every single year and just forever be out by a year it works as long as the world keeps spinning (or they remove future pick trading ? )

witherden regularly has 20+ disposals at 90%+ efficiency meanwhile lockhart has 2-5 disposals, vastly different players. he would have absolutely improved our side
-
we should be able to resign them pretty comfortably knowing we have some players who have earnt decent coin in recent years OOC next year in jones (former captain), jetta (AA40 man), ANB (best 22), vanders (swans interest), KK. thats a pretty experienced list of probable exits that should make it pretty easy especially as we would have foreshadowed petracca and olivers rise in stature. still hope omac goes to free up another spot, would rather have 17 on the field than the porterhouse unfortunately
-
eyes firmly on tippa, lipinski in a full dogs midfield and stack as potential early left field targets for next season. obviously jelly/whitfield and merrett are the big fish on our early radar
-
that was 100% re: Tom, oscar is yet to receive contract offer that will come, if at all after list sizes formalised
-
throw in hawkins and steven if he can crack the side
-
probably and hopefully a good sign to those in charge that you're not going to progress too far up the ladder whilst u have players not a single other club is interested in on ur list, less so tmac obviously due to his coin but there'll be suitors for him this time next year
-
u just said it yourself tho, the lions r paying a huge chunk so they coulda done the same for us. eyes on Cedric cox and narkle if they become delisted FA's
-
wouldn't have minded going for atu if i knew he was going to be available too, imagine pickett, bedford, bosenavulagi now thats a mosquito fleet
-
excellent miss this was, escaped one here i reckon. we've got enough medium sized forward problems of our own
