  1. for legal reasons im not sure im allowed to trust me mate it was as painful for me as it was for the next person
  2. another addition to the go out on your own terms rather than being delisted brigade, but in all honesty couldn't have been more unlucky with his injury. i have no doubt there was a '24 contract there for him without it and he probably could have snagged another year or two after that as well, afl is a brutal sport and industry and this guys luck just ran out. still 121 games at the top level isn't half bad on the resume at all
  3. i have an insider in the ARC so i know how it works and the process was once the ball is live -so kicked out by the swans defender the arc can no longer jump in and overturn, it's that simple, they saw it but had genuinely no time to get in the broadcast cuts at a poor time but on the wide angle u can see the ball pop off the hand and change path slightly and the finger definitely flicks on the review unfortunately, i just watched it back coz its their fancy 4k zoom camera new toy that the afl is paying overs for so they wanted to use it even if it didn't add anything
  4. i think i can top you both, beast mode mathieson. he's unreal for culture AND a good leader whos content playing vfl but also wouldn't be a drop off if he was required to play games, he's an UFA or potentially even a DFA and brissies midfield is only getting deeper a footballing department decision might be elijah hollands however or taylor adams??
  5. get me my man goober crossley
  6. Bowey - didn't kick on Brayshaw - versatility is crucial Brown - is it over? Chandler - flashy but limited Dunstan - handy and unlucky Fritsch - so very important Gawn - was too selfless Grundy - doubts proven correct Harmes - wasn't hungry enough Hibberd - hold head high Hunter - solid without starring Jordon - limited but contributed Langdon -very down year Laurie - gifted some games Lever - did his job May - was strong again McDonald - looks completely shot McVee - a huge surprise Melksham - superb, showed heart Neal-Bullen - never stopped running Oliver - outstanding pre hammy Petracca - needed more help Petty - could be anything Pickett - patchy and comfortable Rivers - took significant strides Salem - below his standards Schache - wasn't trusted enough Smith - had a crack Spargo - deserved twos spell Sparrow - played his role Tomlinson - hard to judge Turner - improved once more van Rooyen - stood up massively Viney - real leaders season Woewodin - perfect building platform
  7. we'd have to, and potentially dunstan stays on if he doesn't?
  8. showed a bit but behind too many in a well stocked youthful position and would have required a senior list spot next year hopefully finds a gig and has success in the second tier in the future
  9. I myself am linking Geelong with Soldo, would be a neat handover from stanley before conway
  10. mckercher, regarded as the best kick in the draft has said that he thinks schoenmakers is top tier, would be a real weapon from deep defence to release pressure if he can spot up targets outside d50
  11. dougal howard. why are the saints so off him whilst still playing him every week. if he's on 800 next year we can easily make that 600 and 3 years
  12. surely we're in for dougal howard if the saints are throwing him up, wouldn't be opposed to him playing 22 games for us next season if petty is going to be a forward
  13. Lever Sparrow Hunter JSmith Oliver Spargo
  14. i thought the same, but then i remember every time i've watched him play and u go he has all the attributes to dominate and has been tried at either end of the field but he just doesn't impact games agree he's too small to be a key and we're stacked in that 3rd forward role but he probably finds himself listed somewhere for 24 even if it is back at the doggies
  15. i think i heard or read somewhere we offered him 4yrs probably at somewhere near 350-4 which is afl average so you'd assume he'd be getting similar elsewhere. saints also have plenty of money to burn particularly with clark, gresham, zjones all at the end of deals and billings/howard potentially getting the boot too. u also need to pay up to get FA out of clubs so i'd imagine he'd be closer to 450-5 which is similar to what we had harmes on and tommo too for sort of 10-20th players on the list as they were at the time of deal, jordon would be similar at saints, would expect to be in the 22 each week at least for the first season or two
  16. i'm not a watson fan at all, players who dominate at u18s due to their athletic profile nominally i fear struggle to transition to afl level. ie talls look good coz theyre taller/stronger. quicker players look quicker than they might be compared to afl defedners. if NW was to become an elite afl small forward he needs to be an elite tackler? is he that? will his speed which is his number 1 trait that fast. i'd rather McKercher as his foot skills will give us a different look and can fit straight into the line up. and im growing on reid as i've seen what daicos and ashcroft can do when put in the right atmosphere and having him rotating with trac will be lethal in '24 and beyond
  17. was my favourite player on the list there and was desperate for him to get a chance. dissapointed he chose to go, but im loving what he's producing and makes watching giants games all the more fun
  18. i think your forward line needs to compliment what you have up the field, we don't have mcinerney, gulden, blakey, florent hitting [censored] inside 50, we have clarry trac viney may and rivers just hoofing it in, therefore we cant recruit lead up players coz the combination doesnt work. we also have the best 3rd tall forward in the comp in fritsch plus when melky is down there too we have our second lead up type so HJ will take footy away from them and space away from them. we need the top of the goalsquare gorilla to maximise on our 69 mostly ugly i50s
  19. everyone seems to moan about our lack of depth and here we have two mids who are clearly not first choice but are available as required when we lose our first choicers to injury. shouldn't we be pleased that harmes after 10 years has fallen out of the best 22? does that show improvement in our side to some degree
  20. Flynn, Lycett, ladhams for mine due to the ability to actually get them outta there clubs too. No point targetting sweet or strachan as they're the only other ruck on their lists so harder to snare. but also the other options arent proven at afl level so why would we target them, we need a ready made ruck for now which is where flynn lycett and ladhams have runs on the board and can be short term solutions.
  21. tommo will be on less next year 450-500ish than haynes will be 900-1m smoothed down to say 600 for 2-3 years and is oyunger and a different type of player we actually require more (lockdown vs interceptor) so this whole process makes no sense and costs us more plus we'd be giving up a draft pick which is right in the JT TL sweet spot for roughies
