Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Taylor
great pick, he moves the ball forward with leg speed or by foot, hes strong in the air and he doesn't shirk a defensive contest. perfect McVee replacement, perfect Lever replacement, perfect Rivers replacement, perfect Salem replacement, i dont think he needs or will become a midfielder he will just be the most dependable 200 gamer down back for a decade which is exactly what we needed

Welcome to Demonland: Latrelle Sumner-Pickett
wrapped with this, some players just have it, latrelle is one of them, a defenders nightmare, will excite the faithful for a long time and will be a genuine difference maker in games. the price of that is better than any bog standard 22 disposal game sometimes. on his own merit he wsa selected and i think he should be aiming for 15-20 games of senior footy next year i see no reason why he couldn't play a full year deep inside 50

Cameron Nairn
on gettable now, basically all but confirmed we will be taking him, we are the earliest interest, so will certainly be becoming a dee

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
there'd be some hope still that this is kolt also this is similar to my arguments against sharp, there are inside mids every year, we were sure on langford last year and looks the goods, if we have any doubts on sharp we are rightly holding out for next year when there could be a stack of better options we still ahve enormous depth through the middle across all age brackets on our list too so we have time to pick the right types to place in there whilst also fleshing out elsewhere across the ground too

The Marcus Prasad Thread
his year is going to go one of two ways next year, he'll either drift into the abyss and maybe crop up at casey in '27 as a 23rd man whilst playing overage CTL or he'll shoot up boards into mid second round contention as one of teh most dangerous smalls his age

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
what do we do in this sitution? "ignore duffield i broke it and had to go back so thats CDT" sharp? grjl? lindsay? dovaston? pickett? trade?

AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
oskar ainsworth linked to us and also the tigers at 38, can;t find much on him but seems to be a really similar type and build to nairn, having also gone tholstrup recently i hope we look at someone with a bit more POD even a smaller mid like a sam allen or addinsall if we dont go for a true small like byrne just to sort of round out the list. theres something about a side of 18 186-189cm blokes that just appears to vanilla even if they are all slightly different somewhat, you need that game changing player to really spark your side sometimes

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
surely if the tigers live grjl and he is going to be on the board at our pick then we can do a deal to get ahead of essendon and get a run at robey or taylor and even have a sniff of cdt you just know he becomes a star and allows weddle to go inside or just dominates for them once impey/amon finish up wed, the wiz and siz: hawks need for speed headline when he has 20 and kicks one on the run on debut

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
both players have shown form in multiple roles, i think that is a must for JT at the top of the draft as it gives them a second wind in their careers and less chance at failing, if you take dovaston you might be able to tell in 15 games if he's going to make it or not, its just the nature of the role, whereas you can find a 188cm player and they can play a variety of roles, look at sparrow, didnt hit his ceiling of burst inside mid but has still eeked out a role, windsor, lindsay tholstrup also all have that same capability even langford has shown some craft forward
-
AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
taylor byrne i think has enough, leon kickett and latrelle pickett i think do too other smaller players bob, dalton, mcguane, kneipp, im less sure on as they arent natural crafty small fwds and dont necessarily have either the goal nous or the agility to really show up bigger stronger or even quicker opponents

AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
pick 7 - fwd/mid (nairn) pick 8 - back/mid (farrow/lindsay/sharp/xtaylor) pick 37 - this pick will surely be to add another mid type, i can't see us going tall whilst we still have a stack on the list and defensively theres none in this range so rules out hetherton also can't see us taking a ruck so its small fwd or mid, Sam Allen, Matt LeRay Rory Wright Sam Swadling are the names that excite me the most, and Beau Addinsall if we can put a bid down we've obviously seen a heap of him whilst watching KW this year FS white - tall rookie - small fwd or best available, Taylor Byrne, Aaron Sharkie, Tom Burton, Jackson Voss?, Felix Kneipp

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
see i think ess is trading up for farrow at 11 because surely we wouldn't let sharp slide past us given our need for midfielders, but it is true we like versatility in which case if we hate sharp and grjl then i don't have a clue who we take with nairn other than farrow but if the dons know that and go him early then i am just so confused coz it wont be pickett/dovaston/schubert so maybe lindsay?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
current read i think we might end up with XTaylor WCE: Duurs CDT RIC: Robey Grjl ESS: Sharp Cumming DEES: Taylor Nairn gives us a fwd connection piece and a versatile defensive piece both with good offensive and defensive games for the modern transition footy is it my preferred outcome probably not but it is seemingly most likely

Oskar Taylor
with our live rookie pick, assuming we take Kalani with 65 or whatever sharkie or jackson voss would be my go as a young smaller defender OR you take byrne if he isnt the choice at 35 other than that i'm not sure who excites me the most that could go undrafted that isnt club tied but HB is definitely a spot we should look to strengthen

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
isn't sam allan like 182cm, so nearly the complete opposite of tall winger
-
Sam Grlj
max holmes is who i see with a floor of blakey if his midfield game doesnt progress, even has enough about him to be a zac bailey

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
is there enough of a difference between nairn and leray to justify one at pick 12 over the other at 34? to me, no. leray is the same size, good overhead and a nice kick but maybe it was nairns two week block at the back end in the guts that is what we really liked, so they could u go cumming and nairn? probably not when u already have tholstrup idk much to weigh up
