Delistings 2025
this is how the list currently projects, the orange spots are interchangeable so we would be required to make two more cuts to free up 2 more draft picks this may be laurie and mcadam to the rookie list or it may be billings/woewodin or spargo / another senior player leaving between now and end of trade period

Delistings 2025
except for fullarton who played 2

The Max Heath Thread
I dont think it would stop us moving for him, if the 23rd bench spot is going to be used as the media suggests then he could still sometimes play that way, also 12 months developing his fwd craft possibly even playing as a fwd for us and then campbell would be done and he'd be number 1 (unless dogga returns) better to be second behind gawn than second behind tdk for the next 5 years. and as redleg mentioned dodson has huge wraps and has likely already gone past him. likewise we could see caminiti playing fwd next year given SOS Aleer pairing next to Wilkie and Howard in reserve

Delistings 2025
you and i have very very differing definitions of a jet. he has no traits which translate to afl football. kicking average, size average, marking good but size will impact this, tackling good but do u want to pick someone coz they tackle. will be lucky to stay on beyond next year and if he plays more than a handful of games next year we wont be trending where we want to be trending either haven't seen this anywhere but demonland so far?

The Marcus Windhager Thread
don't think targetted is fair, landed maybe but we were the ones who disrupted houston and ended up handing him to the pies on a platter remember all the dogga links from earlier in the season too surely if we were in for windy we had a chat to callaghan earlier this year too

The Marcus Windhager Thread
THIS he's about to explode as a player, has good power and is as hard as they come.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
reminds me of ashton moir in how much he slid from his early hype and its fair to say no club has been burnt by him yet (kicked a bag against us tho but ive come to expect these sort of things now)

HATCH MATCH & DESPATCH 2025
afl average is actually 8 changes per season per club so its pretty on par especially given as they had 3x MSD selections bloating their list so they had to make a mandated 3 for that + 3 to free up ND picks meaning they've only made 3 additional changes
-
Farewell Charlie Spargo
yep annually, id say its 70% to protect clubs from themselves and promote list turnover which also regenerates the age of lists and 30% to ensure the pathways are rewarded and kids get exposure
-
Farewell Charlie Spargo
clubs are mandated to take 3 ND picks (can include rookie promotions) and we also have +2 on our list as a result of AMW and McAdams LTI so we re required to make at least 5 changes, two of which need to come from the rookie list (or promote 2 rookies to the senior list and make additional space there)

WHO GETS THE 'REVERSE COLEMAN'?JEREMY Cameron won the Coleman Medal in a canter, kicking 83 goals in the home and away season ahead of Ben King's tally of 69. But what about the 'reverse Coleman'? The reverse Coleman relates to the defenders who have conceded the most goals to their opponents throughout the year and the title goes to Port Adelaide's Aliir Aliir this year. The Port backman conceded 49 goals this season, often taking the opposition's best forward in a tough season for both Port Adelaide and Aliir, who battled injuries to continue to take the field late in the campaign Richmond's Ben Miller (46 goals) was next most along with Carlton's Jacob Weitering, with Bulldog Rory Lobb and West Coast's Reuben Ginbey (44) the next most conceded. Steven May (43), Luke Ryan (42) and Callum Wilkie (42) were after that on the list, with Ryan the only player from a finalist side in the top list of the reverse Coleman. But what about the 'reverse reverse Coleman?' The players who conceded the fewest goals… We put a minimum 20 games played to get the best measure of the stingiest defenders, with the results showing the half-backs to lead the way. Champion Data's referencing includes all players whose primary position for the year was as a defender, meaning those who played some midfield time are included. Under that model, the players with the fewest goals conceded (with a minimum of 20 games played), were Port skipper Connor Rozee and Fremantle backman Bailey Banfield with nine each yes he takes the best forward, but even being on this list shows he has had a decline, at 33yo surely that only worsens next year

i know theres always the argument especially recently about picking off other teans trash and it failing but sam butler should be on our whiteboard

The List Manager
On will verrall, i see little point persevering with him given s he can't usurp campbell. My case is this, looking around the comp at developing rucks the ones that stand out to me are Lachie Smith (WBD) and Nick Madden (GWS) who are good case studies compared to Verrall. Smith 19yo 203cm - VFL avgs: 14.5 touches, 2.2 marks, 4.4 tackles, 34.2 hitouts Madden 21yo 204cm - VFL avgs: 19.4 touches 3.8 marks, 3.7 tackles, 31.4 hitouts Verrall - 21yo 199cm - VFL avgs: 12.9 touches, 1.4 marks, 2.5 tackles, 16.6 hitouts we need to cut our losses and go again here, I'm not sure this years rucks are highly ranked but verrall is undersized and not impacting either in contest or around the ground which is concerning i think it is really obvious after even 12 months if you have found a ruckman who has an afl level ceiling or not and maybe we hedged our bets that he could be a FF but he isn't hitting the scoreboard either.

The List Manager
he just isn't a midfielder at the next level but seems unwilling to try something different to make the jump, its either that high HF sparrow/sharp role that we're crying out for (hello pre agent zac bailey please) or lockdown defender (seems zippy enough and is definitely tough enough think liam stocker and how his career has changed)

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Paul Amy tweeted about him today as well, probably a train on or rookie option at the moment but looks to be one of those late bloomer types, what type of player is he? you say tall forward but then he's having 40?

Farewell Charlie Spargo
really hope north don't pull there offer to charlie, this is the kind of move we need to make to progress.

Trade Targets
adding a new name to the watchlist, was raised on sen today as a trade target for victorian clubs but actually has been on my mind a while (i know people who know) jordan butts is down the order at adelaide, good shep boy his mates are down here in melbourne, if he got 3 years security here i rkn he'd take it. assume north would have a look, maybe dogs/blues/dons/pies if we hadnt have been so set on may and mcdonald we mightve been able to have a look too. wont set the world on fire but billy frampton is a premiership player and he isnt 33 years old

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
if i was the eagles i'd be nervous drafting young willem, yasmin and xavier have both had trades back to Victoria early on in their careers, theyre a tight family, whilst he may be the best on the open market they surely dont want another harley reid story arc where it is just the whole narrative for 3+ years and wouldn't it be a disaster if they both then left in '28. I think they have to consider what a trade of pick 2 for 5 and 8 or 4 and a f1 looks like
-
2025 AFL Draft - VFL prospects
thsts my concern too, look at how verrall is developing at a similar age which is pretty slowly, you'd just lvoe for them both to be 202-203cm at least
-
2025 AFL Draft - VFL prospects
ahh yep woulda been the better thread to post in, surely ends up on an afl list, raw footy smarts and ability can only be enhanced within a professional environment, wonder what the knock on him last year was that let him slide through undrafted?
-
Steven May's Future
is this for the boys playing out the finals with casey too or just the ones who are done for the year? are we likely to get any sort of departure statements this week or not until we bow out of the vfl?
-
2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I'd be right into this guy, 18yo and dominating the forward line at brisbane, given melky's age he could develop really nicely behind fritsch and himself for 12 months. proven vfl player who seemingly would thrive in the afl environment
