  1. From one of the most efficient teams to one of the worst, catches win matches folks. When fritta is looking like he lacks confidence kicking for goal, you know something is not right with all the other forwards.
  2. We're making carlton look like sharpshooters.
  3. All the play for absolutely no result, conversion genuinely putrid.
  4. Can we just check Choco is in fact instructing them to kick through the big sticks?????
  5. Interesting one to analyse that, absolute statistical dominance, looked alright going inside 50 and our defensive structure was very sound. Jake and Steve starting to look more like their 2021 version (definitely helped by the third tall) and our small defender brigade were excellent. Trent Rivers is in some seriously good form at the moment. However it was a little Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde at times. Would be lying if I said i wasn't pulling my hair out at some of those passages of play. Poor disposal efficiency and an inability to convert certainly leaves room for some improvement. Collingwood is going to be the real test. Always good to bank the 4 points but we've got a chance to really prove ourselves in 9 days time. It's felt like we haven't stood up on the bigger stages this year against the better teams, no better chance to prove the doubters wrong than in front of 90,000 plus at the G against easily the best team in it. I'm not exactly confident but I guess we will all wait and see.
  6. Out: Bowey, Harmes, (potentially) viney In: Hibberd, Oliver, one of dunstan or jordon or woey for viney (not sure who is dominating casey so take your pick) Tomlinson got throughly beaten but I haven't seen May and Lever play that well for a while so for lack of petty, tomlinson has to stay for structural purposes.
  7. I totally agree that Cripps shouldn't get suspended, ridiculous if he does. More to the point its so frustrating that a players fate seems sealed before the mro even looks at it.
  8. The channel 7 commentary is starting to do my head in, Cripps tackle every commentator thinks is fine, viney's tackle they all say will get him in hot water. The trial by media needs to stop. I mean its not like the mro is an objective body anyway but the bias inherent in the telecast is sickening. Viney absolutely no chance of playing next week after all that.
  9. Grundy is bang average for us in centre clearance.
  10. I’m not sure what Choco is teaching them but it clearly hasn’t filtered through to the group.
  11. Haven't seen fritta this out of sorts in a long while, him and kozzy need to gives us a bit more in the 2nd half.
  12. I thought t'mac offered more tonight than van rooyen, might be time to give the 2021 tall forward mix another go. The roo has had an excellent start to his career but he had some dumb moments tonight and a spell at casey could hold him in good stead. geez its feast or famine for our small forwards, they either have a real crack or just go mia all game, kozzy, chandler and anb all well below their best. Do we pull the trigger and give taj a go?
  13. got to say Trent Rivers deserve some serious credit, tried so hard all night. He's got some serious dare and run which at times can be sorely lacking from our transition out of d50.
  14. To defend Steven May or at least whoever wants to persist with the kick out strategy (goody, chaplin etc. ) I think there was an article recently that we concede the least amount of goals from kick out or maybe it was that we have the best differential from kick outs. Tonight though when the ball would come to ground, as Max or the rest of the talls were able to do successfully, we rarely had crumbers front and centre to collect but you could bet your bottom dollar drew, butters, jhf or rozee were positioned perfectly. I'd dare say our third quarter would demonstrate that our smalls did put themselves in the right place. If we bank on each kick in at least being brought to ground by our talls then surely our smalls would react accordingly but it didn't appear like that tonight. Our defensive system needs a serious reset in how we defend through the corridor as well, collingwood will cut us to pieces if we give up that much real-estate through the centre of the ground.
  15. 9-2 free kicks in the last quarter, it would be foolish to say that it didn't have an impact when the game was on the line. Won't deny that port were the better team for most if not all of that first half but when the game was in the balance gee the men in green did everything they could to get the power over the line. Our travelling record and performances interstate this season are very concerning and our clearance work is just nowhere near where it could/should be with the midfield we've got.
  16. Also let’s tag butters and rozee please.
  17. Just got to crack in through the centre, it baffles me we are getting smashed this badly with the stars we have at each centre bounce. need to lower our eyes going inside f50 as well.
  18. I totally agree save and except for our 2019 season, felt like commentators loved when we lost that year so they could keep sinking the boot in especially in the wake of our unexpected success in 2018. Maybe my bias is clouding any objectivity but it certainly seems like when things aren't going well (steven and melky entrecote example), the media absolutely love taking us for a ride. Maybe that is a ubiquitous sentiment among other clubs however so might not be isolated to us.
  19. Is there any element to describe why we aren’t travelling interstate well. Lions at the Gabba and Essendon in Adelaide both shockers, tonight was objectively a pretty bad outing (west coast was comprehensive but that’s also west coast). It’s perplexing because we travelled so well the last two years. Someone must have spiked frittatas pre game red bull because that was one of the most uncharacteristic performances I have ever seen. also that was some of the worst commentary I’ve ever had the displeasure of listening to, hate it when they enthusiastically barrack for one team.
  20. Surprised they didn't give best on to umpire number 8, was Richmond's best by a country mile!! 🤣
  21. Kade Chandler stepped up in that third quarter when we needed a spark, great endeavour and fight to get us back into it. Our intercept game started to come back in that second half too, our defensive structure certainly looked a lot better closing out the game (which i think is drastically aided by Max's inclusion).
