  1. The only thing that gets me more aroused than a big hit from Kozzy, is an even bigger hit from Vines!!
  2. Viney's performance was one of his best in a Dees jumper, knocked himself out and went straight back into the middle, couldn't get tackled and reorganised someone's spine with that pile driver of a hit in the last. and what about James Jordon, he is owning the members side wing, not only looking comfortable but in career best form I'd argue.
  3. Was critical of him last week but boy oh boy was he huge today, Rick Lever you legend!! Just the game he needed to get into some form. The growing exasperation of the Brisbane fans behind me every time he took an intercept mark was marvellous. 😂
  4. I'm really feeling it currently but I have to say well done Angus Brayshaw!! He absorbed so much pressure in the third, stoop up in a big way when others didnt. One of a few that can hold his head high today, as was the case with Maxy's effort last week though, you can't leave it to one man or a small group of players to win it for you, it has to come from everyone. Collingwood's bottom 6 absolutely dominated our bottom 6 today. But superb effort Gus, you played a ripper!
  5. Third week in a row of being thoroughly out marked. Not only can we just seem to not compete in marking contests but we don't defend uncontested marks on defensive transition. I mean we can all see these issues, they are blatantly obvious, why oh why are the coaches not even vaguely changing our style or game plan from quarter to quarter or even from week to week.
  6. Everyone will say that Jake only plays well when Steve is in the team, which is a shocking excuse, you can't play afl and only be able to play well as long as another person is in the team. Your form cannot and should not be solely dependant on one other player. I know the argument and I get it, but Steve's absence cannot excuse the performance he dished up today. and besides, even when Steve has been in the team this year, Jake has yet to have hit his straps. He is a shell of the All Australian defender he was last year. Not sure what has happened to him.
  7. They kicked 9 out of the last 10 goals or something like that right?? what happened to the team that was 19 points down in a grand final and put on 100 points after that, where have they gone??????????? Wheres the mental fortitude or toughness to stand up when we don't have momentum. I just can't comprehend how bad we are at the moment.
  8. The concern is that we have seen the exact same thing three weeks in a row. It's all been said before and yet nothing has changed from week to week. Top 4 is looking incredibly unlikely if this continues let alone even making the eight. If you have no avenue to goal, and cant convert when u do get a look, you can't kick enough to win the game, its a pretty simple equation. I know the players care but they just don't have the fight and intensity that they did last year. The last three weeks, our opposition has wanted it a whole lot more than we have. I feel like if we were going to fix our issues, it would have happened by now.
  9. 10 contested marks to 1 that quarter, shocking marking effort.
  10. We don’t know how to enter our own forward 50
  11. Sydney game all over again, stop kicking it directly to Collingwood players going inside 50. FFS
  12. really hope max is ok, need everyone to take the tackle pressure and intensity up a notch in the second half. Come on Dees!
  13. covering transition from d50 was shaky that quarter, really need to plug the corridor.
  14. Max and Goody putting on a media conference clinic this week, great performance from the coach in answering questions that had quite accusatorial insinuations which would have made me fire up if I had to face them. When you consider how Chopper Read, I mean Bevo, reacted earlier in the year and in all honesty how a host of other coaches have responded to controversial events in the media, it certainly makes me grateful for Goody's straight up and down style.
  15. Geez Max is as good a leader as I have ever seen, dealt with those questions artfully and mixed in his classic Max humour when necessary. No one i would rather want leading the boys out every week, we are very lucky.
  16. My observations: - we have to stop either bombing high to a contest in our forward 50 or only hitting up leads deep in the pocket, BBB, Tmac and co can't be expected to have to clunk outrageous contested marks every time we go inside 50 to get looks at goal, we need to fix up that connection going forward - We got thoroughly out marked yesterday, both in contested and un-contested categories, our forwards and mids just have to bring the ball to ground and give our small forwards a chance to go to work, - Freo's kick mark style game plan got through our zone quite easily on transition, usually we can defend a team going slow and switching but freo were on, and they barely missed a kick going forward, conversely, our disposal going forward was horrendous or at least, very sub-par by our standards - as has been said, I haven't seen our midfield perform that poorly in a while, Freo's spread from stoppage was phenomenal and we never seemed to cover the outlet handball that consistently got them out of trouble - Goal kicking accuracy again a problem, we've had to deal with it for some time seemingly (accept for the back end of last year) and it is really hurting us in games, completely sucks the momentum when we miss after finally getting a good look at goal - Goody has generally presented our defensive system as one not reliant on personnel but one that any dees players could slot into and it could still stand up, Steve is clearly incredibly important to our team but it seems incongruous that we squarely point to personnel issues in a defensive system that is meant to hold up either way, again, not denying how important steve is to our team and to our defensive structure but just something I think is interesting to consider - inability to arrest momentum was very concerning and unlike us, usually we can wrestle the game back onto our terms and kick a settling goal when the opponent is getting a bit of a run on, not sure why this was the case but everything seemed to go freo's way, balls bounced into their laps, dump kicks were marked etc. - the MFCSS always lingers around but I really hope the boys can respond next week
  17. Sorry if this has already been mentioned by someone else, but I missed Steve's post game presser but just came across it on FB, he said something which all Dees fans should find comforting. When asked if he was happy with the score they kept North to he said he wasn't happy, because they were able to generate more scores than they should have per inside 50. Whether you are worried that we aren't in form or happy to bank the points, it is very clear the boys aren't complacent. Steve is less than 10 minutes off the ground and is already mentioning areas for improvement after a 47 point win, I dare say the boys have the right attitude this year.
  18. Coming out of a 74 point win and still having room for improvement is a great spot to be in. Tracc's goal kicking has taken a turn for the worse though, looks like he has no confidence in himself and no real routine walking in to kick. His ability to create separation between him and his opponent and his ability to mark overhead means he gets great set shot looks each week but at the moment doesn't seem to converting as regularly as he did last year. I'm sure he'll work on it and find some consistency. Go Dees!
  19. Tommy Mac looking at home with the red pill, thought he was really good today. Steven May giving max king a bath yet again, must be so frustrating as an oppo key forward when you walk onto the ground and see that mountain of man ready to go to work on you.
  20. Thought Jake Melksham had a great game. Competed well, won ground ball nicely, used it well, calm experienced head when the ball was pinging about. Quick reminder to everyone that he isn't done yet and still has something to offer.
  21. Very true indeed, can't wait to get petts back!
  22. A wakeup call without losing is a good result, hawthorn showed everyone the blueprint on how to beat us, take it quick through the corridor and keep lever accountable. Need to tidy up our forward fifty entries as well, we kept sitting it on top of a contest and expected someone to clunk it which didnt look nearly as good hitting up a lead. I think this game also shows how important Goody is, feel like his influence on the boundary line is a lot more important than we know
  23. Just had a look back at the stats, Clayton is a genuine beast! Thought dunstan worked his way into the game nicely as well, great depth going forward. Go Dees!!
