  1. If we were playing even a half decent team we would be getting killed, could it be the heat that isn’t agreeing with us, nibblers jumper looks soaked in sweat.
  2. 2nd time in my life I have seen us beat the Swans live at the G, gee that was a lot of fun to watch!
  3. It was doom and gloom but that last 8 minutes proves we can play good football when our transition from d50 and entry into the forward line has bit of courage. It was a horrendous performance but theres something there to keep us hopeful and moving forwards.
  4. Also how good was the roar when BBB kicked that goal wide open in the last! Strong showing from the dees faithful tonight!!
  5. Thought Jake Bowey was absolutely excellent tonight as was Mcvee. Gee in the last quarter we were running on top of them, looked like we could have played another 4 quarters, excellent signs!!
  6. Is the club looking at him as a hunt replacement? Surely they know hunter is not in the same stratosphere pace wise as hunty? Seems highly unlikely the deal will happen anyway.
  7. I was honestly happy to send him on his way and take the picks and move on but that comment of having decided mid year isn't sitting right with me. His performances looked like someone who mentally wasn't committed, and I'm surprised the club persisted in playing him if they were aware that this was coming. I hope he does a Hogan or a Tom Boyd and blows up his career under the weight of expectation and constant partying. Hope we play Freo at the G next year so we can all give him the welcome he deserves. Any chance we could bring back Aaron Vandemonberg for one game just to deliver a hip and shoulder that sends him into next year. Good riddance.
  8. Are we waiting for the weid deal to get done for this to happen, seems like we've talking about grundy for a while for nothing to happen yet. Anyone know if there is anything else holding up the deal?
  9. Not sure how we went from saying we’d at least do really well out of this deal to this outcome. absolute scam job this.
  10. Apparently Liam Henry is no chance to leave freo per his manager... (Sorry if this has already been stated elsewhere)
  11. And just like that, geelong now become the hunted, everyone will dissect their game plan and will play their granny against them every week, they have the weight of expectation. They might be able to handle it fine but I'm glad our boys can have somewhat of a break from the overwhelming expectation we had every week.
  12. Smith the best player, Danger the best story. they'll give it to danger.
  13. Pains me to say it but i guess isaac smith did get the flag he was after, still a [censored] in my books.
  14. Confirmed, teams can only win the flag if shannon byrnes is their runner.
  15. Sydney lucky to not be further behind.
  16. I hate both teams so really don’t care.
  17. Murdered by the umps but well and truly in the hunt. Carn here scorps
  18. Sort of satisfying that the close game specialists lose two finals by a goal or under
  19. gee collingwood's ball movement through the corridor is very impressive.
  20. I can’t decide in my mind whether we would have given Geelong a much closer contest or also got thrashed ourselves. either way it’s embarrassing watching this Brisbane performance knowing they just knocked us out.
  21. Brisbane fans were disgraceful last night, thought they were better than that but that was absolute tripe from them, hope Geelong send them packing, bunch of arrogant tools. How they could find it in them to boo petts is beyond me. The fact anyone can defend Zorko as a captain is utterly contemptible.
  22. Almost entirely agree with this post, well written. Not sure if you would agree but I thought our first quarter last night demonstrated some really daring ball movement, players had no hesitation to bite off the inside 45 into the corridor and we had pace on the ball coming out of d50. Steven even sent a kick in up the guts which also led to another inside 50 (and probably a behind). But we went into our shells from this point forward, long down the line, and long into the forward pocket. A directive from the coaches? a mental thing within the playing group? lack of confidence? I've got no idea why but if we had maintained that throughout the game (among other considerations), could have gone differently.
  23. I am now utterly convinced that we have to try Petty in the forward line. He is elite in the backline, no question about that, but our forward line looked more dangerous in the last three minutes of the game when Petts was down there than it did for the preceding four quarters. We know Tomlinson can play that third tall role in the back line, so I think unless we can acquire another genuine key forward, the question has to be asked.
