  1. and he saved multiple goals.
  2. My problem isn't necessarily Oliver leaving it's replacing him. We all see the issues with our midfield, not short on talent, it's just unbalanced. The super unrealistic ideal world is you off load Harmes for early 2nd, late first. Combo picks together and go after a Dunkley, McGrath etc. We should have cap space when you consider Jones/Hibbo/T. Mac/Jetta are closing in on the end and potentially trading a Harmes to cover the budget for both Clarry and another star mid. Real world scenario is we will probably end up losing Clarry, tying down the lesser inside mids like Brayshaw and Harmes and then going to the draft and getting two kids who probably won't even fill what we need.
  3. Rivers had a shocker but he's got credit in the bank. Usually he is clean and tidy and that was gone, that speaks to rustiness and the conditions then a players overrall ability. Harmes and Hunt are the big winners on that list, both were bottom 3 with Rivers on the day. ANB also unlucky.
  4. Kozzie should be a forward pocket who can fill in midfield if needed. Outside mid a must, missing out on Hill, Smith, Phillips in recent years to compliment Langdon is hurting us. I can't for the life of me see why the coaches / administration team think Jones, Brayshaw, Harmes are good enough to stick on a wing. It's all about pace and two way running.
  5. Spot on for me, Sparrow actually runs two ways and when watching i noted he had a few nice kicks when we were attacking. ANB apart from his awful time wasting set shot that he ended up kicking straight to a freo player was very good, his fitness levels made him shine. Hunt is the only other player apart from Harmes i'd consider dropping. Harmes was really bad.
  6. We are missing Brown, Hibberd, Weid, Viney and Lockhart from this line up to be fair. Boy do we need another outside mid to take away Harmes spot though.
  7. You start to wonder if the midfield will ever learn their lesson in regards to clearances and getting sucked into the play. You've got to assume nobody is teaching them any different, that was a pathetic day at the office in terms of clearance play. Few of the maligned senior players played well today. T. Mac, ANB, Jetta, Jonesy. Sparrow, Jordon, Jackson and Rivers did enough to warranty a start. Lever and May BOG by far.
  8. What has Petty, Hunt, Chandler, T. Mac, Jones shown to be best 22? For me if all fit (which will never be the case) FB: Lockhart, May, Lever HB: Salem, Hibberd, Rivers C: Langdon, Oliver, Sparrow/Laurie HF: Melksham, Weideman, Fritsch FF: Spargo, Brown, Pickett FOL: Gawn, Petracca, Viney INT: Brayshaw, Jackson, Harmes, Tomlinson Should learn the lesson about stacking tall slow players into a 22. Laurie a kid offers both pace and skill and Sparrow is worth a game more than Jones for me.
  9. I hope at our new training complex we build, we get a life member locker room for our mens and womens team so they can stop in and do laps on an oval, access the gym or canteen when in retirement. Speak to a lot of the old boys who retired and the issues they have with depression because there bodies are banged up and the nature of being a part of a group thats so close one day and gone the next is very tough. We should be opening our doors more and as Choco said this is our life.
  10. Not sure if posted anywhere yet but Greeny posted this on twitter Great to see the boys, old and new, working together
  11. I wouldn't have mind Williams as a senior coach if Goody got the sack. There's a lot to say about how certain people in the media would literally refuse to talk about us on their shows because we were too inconsistent. Williams will give them something to talk about.
  12. 600k and a second rounder Tom Browne is saying. I have no info on if that is true just that he is out of collingwood.
  13. Looking at it with logic i'm not sure how we fit him in the midfield group without moving one of Harmes or Brayshaw out. A winger like Phillips makes sense because we only have 1 maybe 2 if you count Baker.
  14. Keep an eye on this one. Heard today he's done with Collingwood and is looking for a new home. We are one of the few teams that can afford him. (+ pies are happy to pay a % of his future wage)
  15. Another one for the good guys. Treloar is an interesting one, keep an eye on.
  16. Pick 23 will be pushed back to early thirties with all the compo picks being thrown around
  17. He will be announced next week sometime
  18. Phillips seems like a no brainer. He is better then what we have on the wing no matter what because we only have one winger in Langdon. Also he's younger and i'm sure the money we had planned for Smith is much more than what Phillips would be taking right now.
  19. I know little about Phillips but i think 90% of the comp is a better kick than Polec
  20. As a supporter, I had a love hate relationship with Frost. Clearly talented but made far too many mistakes for me.
  21. Friend at work who told me Brown was meeting with Melbourne before i saw anything in the media or on any forums. I didn't think much of it because i knew we were linked, next day he says it went well and hasn't heard of anyone else seriously in for him. I haven't heard anything else about any other meetings or trade agreements etc.. but others seem to have.
  22. he's coming, pick 23 i imagine
  23. https://www.afl.com.au/news/515600/phantom-form-guide-extra-the-next-15-prospects Bowey looks interesting
