It was originally going to Coolangatta but re-directed when information regarding the lockdown was received.

Even kids netball and local Winter comp cricket matches were cancelled. I’m so angry I want to break something! Then again, I guess NRL players are known for their intelligence and sense of responsibility……….

How’s this for double standards??? I just read this on the ABC News website….. ABC News: Despite 11 Queensland LGAs being plunged into lockdown, the NRL will finish round 20 of the competition in Brisbane today and tomorrow. The schedule change came just hours after Queensland Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said no professional or community sport would be played during lockdown. "There will be no football matches," she said at Saturday's media conference announcing the three-day lockdown. "No community sport, no professional sport for the next three days."

Harmes has the skill set to be a very good tagger. Where he lets himself down is when he gets the ball. Instead of dishing it off and matching up again on his opponent, he is inclined to want to break tackles and take the game on often leaving his direct opponent free. All he has to do is sacrifice that overambitious part of his game and make his opponents life difficult. Yes, there will be the odd opportunity to take a mark and perhaps kick a goal but his primary focus has to be his opponent not getting the footy.

(It originated in the Fables of Aesop incidentally) Skuit said “Chinese shop” and I ran with that thinking it was humourous. FWIW my wife is Chinese and I speak fluent Mandarin having lived and worked in that country for many years. I’m the last person to aim racist remarks at the Chinese. Why are people so keen to bring race into every comment and argument when often the writer/speaker has no intention of bringing racial commentary into the text/conversation? The spontaneity of humour has suffered due to the extreme sensitivity of some people and I feel sad about that. If I caused you offence however, I apologise. Oh yeah. I speak French too. Your name should read Démon Fanatique if we are going to be picky about “correctness”. ?

My view is that the guys have played well above my expectations this year and I have enjoyed the wins. We have the skill set to be a huge GF contender and we only need to look at the wins against the Dogs and the Lions to quantify that. We still don’t have that elusive Plan B though….
