  1. Correct. Put in all night, in a lot of traffic. Missed a couple of very easy ones. Had he got those, he's in the best few.
  2. Good to see Hunt get some recognition. Maligned player - he was very good last night. Think he sometimes gets mixed up with Langdon (confuses the commentators too). Spargo I thought was really good, all night. Petty - superb. May too. Best full back we've had since Tassie Johnson, and we've had several excellent ones, including when we have been lousy.
  3. Yep. But one goal from 12 games last year. Hardly matters - more importantly, he averaged 25 disposals and 6 clearances! Let's hope he nears that tomorrow. And if he kicks one or two, all the better.
  4. Not sure that Dunstan is much of a goalkicker. Looked at the stats a while ago and I think from memory he may have kicked one goal last year. Viney has been kicking a goal most weeks this year. Nonetheless, Dunstan is no mug.
  5. Doubt Dunstan. Sparrow will put in more on ball minutes to cover Viney. His big chance. Also Brayshaw....
  6. Certain he will.
  7. put on repeat
  8. Sparrow - two ordinary games
  9. Doesn't take long for the hyenas to start moving in.
  10. Beveridge needs counselling. Seriously. The pre-season speech citing Rosa Luxemburg and Guevara was comical - and a bit weird. The Chopper Read mo (and the manner to match) needs to go. He's going to find this hard to live down. Every presser from now on will be tense.
  11. Three in the top 5? In such a ruthlessly competitive competition? That's extraordinary. So is 7 in the top 50. Let's not whinge about it. Totally subjective, after all.
  12. Petracca is a superb example of a certain kind of player. Oliver is unique. Anyway, comparisons are odious. We're bloody lucky to have them both.
  13. Fantastic player. Played injured last year.
  14. Who cares? These lists are a waste of time. Footy journos trying to earn their keep.
  15. Dunno, I quite like Hodge. Bit rough around the edges but honest and direct.
  16. Agree, one of the highlights of the game for me. (Though there were numerous.)
  17. Cameron has the habit of doing that, to many players. Bit hard on Smith. Obviously the club sees a lot in Smith, and they see more of him than we do. He's bound to feature in the team this year. I just wouldn't replace a fit and keen Hibberd for him.
  18. Hibberd is a top-class player. An AA. If he's in good shape - as he appears to be - I wouldn't be easing him in to the seconds.
  19. Perhaps its the new hair-do, but Harmes looks much more physically imposing than formerly.
  20. If Jackson becomes the equal of Stynes we have a champion.
  21. Flower. Easily.
  22. That's well put re Chandler. And very true. He's not far away. Will play this year at some stage. He's got the appetite.
  23. Superstar of the team in the second half of the 1950s. Champion player. Surprised there doesn't appear to be anything on the club web site, as yet.
  24. Think I missed the mum. Where was that? (And yes, the outstanding halfback in the game, bar none.)
  25. Yeah, who cares? Vastly better player than Rich - and now a premiership player. Same goes for Kelly. For us, I much prefer Salem.. Tough too - touch of mongrel to go with the skills.
