  1. Salem forward may not be such a bad idea. Need a bit of skill down there and we need to try something different. The team is tired and predictable and mediocre.
  2. Correct. Best to focus why Melbourne habitually fails in crunch games, and why nobody respects the club. Was 2021 an aberration? It is looking like it, sad to say.
  3. Best question right now is - will Melbourne make the finals? Think they just need to reset their goals, Premiership, right now, is a pipe dream. We look mediocre.
  4. I'd forget the 'premiership players' stuff. It is in the past. We met a couple of weakened and vulnerable sides in the prelim and GF last year. And everything went right for us. A team of 3 or 4 great players and 3 or 4 very good ones, and the rest good to handy. Are they good enough to go again, in a year where everything is NOT going right?
  5. He has been poor lately. Disappointing. Thought he has progressed to an A grade player.
  6. Sensible suggestions. And bring in Ablett, Blight and Bartlett.
  7. We cant kick enough goals. They win games. Hopefully that will dawn on the coaches. Of it doesn't, we'll be lucky to make the finals.
  8. Would Melbourne be a contender - top 4, top 8?- without him?
  9. Agree Rivers should be in. Should have played today, not that it would have mattered. May in, obviously, unless the AFL decides he should have ten strokes of the rattan and 5 years' solitary in the clink. Sparrow has been mediocre all year - at best. Is he good enough? Omit. The team looks dour, slow and lacking in imagination. They play like Goodwin's press conferences. They look, frankly, like a 10-14 side.
  10. To be fair, I thought it was a good article. On the money and fair to Melbourne.
  11. Gawn doesn't get [censored] and involved in punch ups in public though. Think you've lost your bearings, pal.
  12. Thanks for the update. What a mess. May has a lot to make for.
  13. Not everyone. But the coach, yes. That might be handy, especially given the cloud of excessive drinking that already hung over the club...and which this fiasco gives credence too. Unfortunately, we can't blame the media. We've given them the ammunition. Plastered senior players fighting in the street, mid season! If it was another club, we'd be cheering the dopey journos on. There's more to run on this.
  14. The whole thing is just pathetic and reflects terribly on the club. Senior players drunk and fighting amongst themselves in the street? Mid season? FFS. May in particular is a fool, and has done a lot of damage. Any repetition and he is done.
  15. Yes, Gawn is an impressive leader, on and off the field. Goodwin? I find his silence thus far on this fiasco a little odd.
  16. Dont like idea of Brayshaw on the wing opposite Jordan and they still need him at half back. I suspect theyll retain Bedford. Could they try Pickett on a wing?
  17. Horse manure. Tim Gossage? Are you kidding? Parochial Perth dimwit. Brayshaw wants to live near his grandparents? I may die laughing. He's not going anywhere.
  18. Nice to see some intelligent comment on this issue.
  19. Extremely bloody harsh...Handball to Bedford...Handball of year.
  20. 'Can someone lift my spirits?' We have won 14 games in a row, including a Grand Final by 12 goals. Does that help?
