Sorry fellas, wasn't able to attend this one as I was at a "Before the Game" Function with Kevin Sheedy and Rex Hunt last night before todays JLT game at my home town of Moe. As for the no mention of Keilty, Dec hurt his ankle during the week. It's nothing serious as he trained Friday morning but they felt it best they rest him for the game. As for Joel I'm not sure.

The new jumpers haven't arrived yet. They needed to make 2 whole sets + extras with Caseys sponsors printed on them so of course it's gonna take a while

So for those who don't know, the current rules are clubs can nominate 1 Rookie (A or B) to play senior games before round 1 and nominate another later on in the season, as well as be replacements for long term injuries and retirees. The AFLPA in their new bargaining agreement are looking to make it so there are no restrictions on when rookies can play so that might come into affect for the season.

Having spoke to Dunn a few times last year when he was at Casey, I really hope he does well with the Pies and makes a name for himself again as a leading key defender

Nope they are, that's why Joel Smith is listed. Another thing to note is for week 1 and 2, teams are allowed up to 8 interchange players with unlimited rotations so we should only see 2 of the 28 players dropped before the game.

I think* "wink wink" that we will be playing our best 22 for this first preseason game, so we won't see any of the fringe/younger players this weekend.

Anyone know when they usually release the team lists? Usually Thursday or something right?

Just arrived from a long drive all the way from the LaTrobe Valley. It's nice and sunny out here, pretty warm but there's a nice breeze that should benefit the players. Can't wait to see some good hard work today.

This my biggest issue. Whatever system they chose either the worst team will never get good picks or everyone will just tank and it'll be a s***show. With this, as well as trying to mess around with the rules to relieve congestion around the ball (which I don't really think is as bad as people say it is) they are gonna mess with the game too much, its already confusing enough from an umpiring perspective as it is.

Even though Dec no longer plays for Casey, the family still wanted to support the club/players as we owe many thanks to the program. Mum contacted one of the staff members who suggest we sponsor a player, and for various reasons (financially stress, local boy who comes from our area etc.) we decided to sponsor Aloysio Ferreira. Aloysio had a great run in the backend of the season so we were more than happy to help him out. This morning he gave Mum a phone call to give his thanks, and mentioned that he and a few others will be participating in the Intra-club game tomorrow night. Should be good to see some of the gun Casey boys run along side the best of the best.
