VFL GRAND FINAL - CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS
Drunkn167 replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah, Grimes, Terlich and Hulett will all be back in, and all big In's at that. It'll really hurt not having Salem, but will still be a very strong side. -
Pretty good write up on pg.55 of the Herald Sun
-
Dawes hasn't played for about 3 months now, not sure why. JKH didn't qualify for finals, as he missed too many games through injuries, and Hulett was ill so they thought it best to let him run a half-intensity game in the 2's before coming back into the 1's next week.
-
Apparently Grimes is crook too and won't be playing today
-
Apparently he has been crook the last week or so, so he is just taking it easy in the D league
-
Since both Hulett (ill) and Terlich (Susp.) are out, Keilty will be playing as a key forward today

http://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?client=1-118-0-0-0&&news_task=DETAIL&articleID=15274222 also I'm here at the ground to watch the dev league and there is already a very decent crowd. Should be a helluva day

Same. Our last heavy wet day we went down by 40 points to Collingwood, but hopefully our midfield can hold up.

I know Colllingwood have some big injuries but this is getting ridiculous. And we beat Footscray by 70 ?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY
Drunkn167 replied to Steve13's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pretty well spot on. The only thing I'd like to correct is his ability to ruck. You are right in the sense he can't be a full time ruck but he has an incredible vertical jump that can match/beat most AFL players and the few times he has rucked against AFL listed ruck/forwards this year he has either held his ground or won. His endurance is a bit on the average side and always has been and he definitely needs to work on it though -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY

Only on the football field. He never really used too, his twin sister stole all the grunt. But it's amazing how he can go from chillaxed to completely switched on as soon as he steps onto the grass. He used to be the kid who would pick the opposition off the ground before moving onto the net contest, but not any more. Like earlier this year in Casey's second game v Collingwood which they lost, Dec cleared the ball at one stage and Aish, instead of trying to smother, went for Dec directly to try and take him out. Well Dec still got the clearance and Aish bounced off of him and landed on his back. Dec looked down, saw Aish, and immediately jumped on him. Really gave him a good hammering before being dragged off by 2 Collingwood players. Don't think so. When he finished his preseason with Melbourne this year he had a meeting with Roosey and the coaching staff which basically said 'sorry but we don't really have a place for you.' That might've changed since then, but I doubt it. Justin Plapp did tell us at the start of the year if Dec has a good year he will be drafted. We know for a fact the North Melbourne, Geelong and Essendon are looking at him, and the staff at Casey believe there is one or two more. He was invited to the state combine, and he did a day of testing with North at the end of last year where afterwards he was told they would be looking at him as a Rookie if he played VFL Seniors all year.- 212 replies

CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
Drunkn167 replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's the big question. Morris was only played to replace a late pull out by Salem, so even though he had a decent game he is definitely on the fringe. Keilty can move from the backline into a ruck/forward position instead of playing McInerney, but I felt like he had a great game so I doubt he'll be dropped. Munro played well, but as you said has been on the edge of senior/dev games too. It's hard to say when every player had a good or better game, and Plappy sure will have a tough time deciding who will miss out and I certainly don't envy his job when it comes to those decisions. As for Terlich, I'll be very surprised if he gets suspended. I saw the incident where he was reported. For those that don't know he cleaned up a Footscray bloke after he kicked it, giving away a down field free kick as well as the report. He really gave him a fair old bump, and he sort of jumped into him at the same time, possibly collecting him high with his shoulder, but I don't think it was suspension worthy. -

He did some testing with North Melbourne at the end of last year. He has also had contacts with Geelong and Essendon and we believe at least 1 more club is interested in him too. -

CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
Drunkn167 replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
God damn that's a good team Dunn, Garland, Hutchy and Keilty down back..... Very hard to penetrate Weideman, Terlich, Smith, Hulett up forward.... Plenty of targets to kick too Spencer, Oliver, Salem, ANB, Trengrove, Kennedy, Grimes.... Probably the best midfield in the competition at the moment This is gonna be one helluva game
