  1. Amusing how some are criticising Brayshaw's kicking on one hand, but then stating that Trac is elite/better etc? When you compare their career stats they're basically the same, for everything, and I'd argue that Brayshaw has had the more interupted run of games to get his touch. If you actually want to go off this years Disposal Efficency, Brayshaw 68.5% (avg 3 clangers per game) Petracca 63.6% (avg 4.8 clangers) Oliver 72.2% (avg 4.4 clangers) Personally I think Brayshaw is more rounded, can use both sides of his body. Petracca is more x-factor, I don't recall him ever kicking opposite foot? I love the upside of both players and would love both to end up one club players with 250+ games. ??
  2. Does anyone know which round our other replacement game is? The magnet fixture you receive with your membership used to have an asterisk next to them, not this years one.
  3. To be fair, Roos answered the question put to him and stated that it would be unusual for a "line" coach to be on the bench, but that he didn't know what role Macca was playing.
  4. Maybe McCartney had a shot at our fwd and midfield coaches for letting the ball rebound too easy and make his backline work, and look, bad? ? I wouldn't be worried if it was as plain and simple as having his experience on the bench for better communication?
  5. Petracca on Dusty for the whole game? He has the size, power and 1v1 marking ability to defend against Dusty when he goes forward too.
  6. I must admit that I've changed my mind about going after attending last weeks poo we dished up. I'm working anyway but was going to try and swap out of my shift and go. Now I'm just going to save myself the hassle of trying to swap and record it on tv.
  7. The 11 Home Games general admission membership is $221. If you're sitting in M51, that's the Demon Seats Plus Open Air package, that's $429 for a single adult.
  8. Stuck working while the game was on but watched the replay when I got home. I'm actually not that disappointed in the game, I thought our second quarter laps against Geelong was worse. Lions kicked 7 goals to 0 in their run, but in between the 7 goals we missed set shots from Hogan, out on the full, and Oliver. Jetta also missed a pretty simple snap. There may have been another set shot and snap too, Bugg and Hunt?, can't remember now. Petracca also missed a set shot before the start of their run. We convert any of those shots and we would've taken the wind out of their sails. Throw in a goal to the Lions after a lucky spoil from a Lions player landed in the lap of another Lions player 20 odd meters away too. ? Still need to improve, but I'll take the 4pts.
  9. I'm happy with the changes, although I'm a massive Brayshaw fan, I'm also of the belief that they probably want to give him a proper run and that's why he isn't an emergency.
  10. We handball more then I'd like, mainly because we either handball to someone under more pressure, or loop a sloppy handball, causing that player to have to then handball under pressure too. I didn't think it was as bad this game as last year though.
  11. I was at the game, game clock showed around 33mins for the 1st quarter and 34mins for the 2nd quarter. I just fast forwarded through the first half on my Foxtel recording, confirmed those times. ??
  12. I'm obviously in the minority here, I don't have any real issue with what Lewis did. I thought it was a soft free too. Just like Maxy's missed goal, the loss shouldn't be blamed on this one incident. They out scored us by another 25pts in the second quarter, also kicking 1.7 in the last hurt. Yes, he's one of our leaders, but he did the same occasionally at the Hawks too, so we knew what we were getting. Considering the leadership he gives us for the most part, I'm happy to take the minor indiscretions. ?
  13. Vince may miss a few games because of his hand? I know he played the rest of the game, but if it's a split webbing between his thumb and forefinger, he might be out for 3-4 weeks.
  14. This is my quandary, when he's on, he's on. Fritsch and Hannan are better in the air though, and that seems to be the way we are going to deliver the ball. ? We let the ball come out of our F50 to easily as well, I think Bugg's tackling pressure and mongrel would have been useful today. It's only R1 though. ?
  15. I agree it didn't suit him, but that is part of my issue, where is his game B? I'm probably in the minority on this, but I believe Bugg's fwd defensive pressure and nagging would be better. Or give Spargo a crack, he tackles hard and has a bit of mongrel I believe? ?
  16. Haha, I'm not going off just today's game for Garlett. ? And to be fair, our F50 delivery has been average too. I just think he goes missing too much, also tends to go to ground in 1V1 easily. I'm not sure we can play Garlett, Fritsch and Hannan in the same team either?
  17. Our defensive pressure was shocking for most of today. At one stage the Cats had 20 scoring shots from 24 inside 50 entries, about 83%. The AFL average is 44-48%. Just shows how easily we let them spread and move the ball, then deliver basically uncontested ball into their F50. I thought Garlett, Melksham, Hannan, Jetta and Maynard were really off. Starting to think Garlett is done.
  18. Is there a dominant and permanent forward in the game at the moment? Hawkins is probably the closest to a permanent forward but most push up high in defence, or rotate position, and then push back in attack. I'll be very surprised if he does get moved on at the end of the year, I think the kid has shown us enough glimpses of what he can do. I'm looking at the 2020 season to be his breakout year. ?
  19. I'll also point out that on draft night the commentators on Foxtel all agreed that Weideman would be the steal of the draft at No.9 if he could stay injury free. I don't see this as a mistake by our recruiting team. Hindsight picks are a load of BS and an easy shot at recruiting, how did Fyfe go at 20odd etc? ?
  20. Fritsch may be a first year player but don't forget he is older then Weid, medium sized fwd instead of key position too. Weid was drafted injured, and has had an interrupted few years with little injuries too. I'm happy to give Weid another year or two before I'll expect to see him pushing for the 1's.
  21. Just listened to our "new" team song on the Triple M Facebook page, not a fan at all, no, no and no. ?
  22. Yes, on that clip, it's the only footage I've seen. I also said "I believe" and also stated that I thought it was a joke to get fined. I'm not arguing what happened last year, it's irrelevant to this years penalties. My point being, if Michael Christian is stating that it was a closed fist, no matter how soft, and the MFC obviously aren't contesting that fact, then we have to wear the fine. Christian has set a low benchmark for punches to be fined, now he has to show that he is consistent throughout the year. If he is consistent, we have nothing to argue about, let's give it a few more games, should see another punch/jab by then, and see what happens? ?
  23. I think it's a joke to get fined for that, but in saying that, I believe it was a closed fist he used. The issue of Jacobs pushing him in the back first doesn't obviously matter to the AFL. Now the AFL has to show itself to be consistent for this sort of "incident". Considering the amount of little jabs in the side and back that taggers use, I'm expecting the AFL to register their biggest profit at the end of the season. ???
  24. The one little snippet I found, MELBOURNE star Christian Petracca has pledged his future to the Demons, adamant he wants to be a one-club player for the duration of his career.
