this sent me on a curiosity chase. geelong's average age in 2022 was 28yr 7 months Pies last year was 27year 9 months ours in 2021 was 24yr 10 months our semi final last year, our average age was 26yr 5 months. (the blues were 6 months younger than us) oh, and for reference the youngest team to win a flag was the pies in 2010 at 24 years and 2 months......younger even than the baby bombers. what does this mean? i dont know.

Honestly it depends on how hungry we are. Is the team as hungry and angry as us fans are? Do the last 2 years burn like a furnace inside? Or are they happy with winning a flag a few years ago?

We need a backup ruckman who can play 15 games a year and allow max to only play 7 or 8 after this year, letting him rest but be fresh when he does play. Like brisbane did with their ruckman in their treble. Is that person english? Na he'd want to be number 1 and fair enough too.

I like thursday night footy... when it's not us. Living 2 hours away makes it very hard to get to, drive home and then rock up to work at 8am friday.

Also i thought noah yze looked very good. Small forward but was agile and elusive.

Hunter was doing run throughs most of the session. I thought the skills in general were quite poor. Although perhaps a wet footy might excuse some of it.

Yes but my point is that its injuries that make it a horrible pre season. And we have very few, touch wood.

I think the one we had in 2019 where we only had about 16 or 17 players actually training at one point would qualify as that though.

Ok but seriously what injury issues do we actually have? Hunter apparently Petty on the slow return Melksham knee but back running Smith and clarry missing.... any others?

Remember that freo comeback game when we were 50 odd points down? Well, leaving that i ended up walking behind the southern stand with the great man. I was rather excited at the time but he was just as happy. "Itll give the boys such a lift". Will never forget that 50m walk.

Its the off season, its midnight and i cant sleep and got suddenly curious as to how we all became dees. For me it was my cousins who were up the road who are all mad dees and that was 35 years ago and the rest is history. So how did you end up a dee?
