POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Unlike any of my Dee tragic mates, I watch replays of our games, whether we’ve won or lost. I recommend to Demonlanders to watch this game in replay and you’ll see that Melbourne really deserved to be much, much closer to Collingwood. They just couldn’t miss when shooting for goal, and we had 4 posters, as well as several other misses much easier than the angle goals they so nonchalantly slotted. Plus a couple of random bounces went their way near goal. I can see now why I felt we’d win , at half time, despite the deficit. I didn’t realise at that time, that Petracca had suffered a season-ending injury. In my huge disappointment straight after the game, I walked away from the ground thinking we’d been outclassed. Having watched the replay,I reckon we could have given them a real run for their money, even without Trac. Also, I reckon Clarrie played much better than I’d realised. Ditto with McVee, Bowie ,Fritsch and Windsor.

NON-MFC: Round 11
If they don’t know the rule about handing the ball straight to the umpire, they probably aren’t aware either that the clock has stopped, so it’s no use time wasting.

Time to Blood Jeffo
I'm still hopeful for Jefferson.....but he's nowhere near ready yet.

NON-MFC: Round 10
Collingwood’s last forward entry ( for the winning goal) was a result of an Adelaide quick kick bouncing back 15 metres off the back of the head of a player , straight into the hands of a Collingwood player not involved in the play.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast
Verrall has been easily outrucked by such ordinary opponents as Tom Downie. He is still too light, and needs another pre-season or two to build strength. His skills are good, though he hasn't taken many contested marks. I'd give Fullarton a go. He can play forward, and has some AFL ruck experience. Max needs some rest from doing all the ruckwork.

Jake Lever on the couch
What an inspired pick he was by us from Adelaide!. I hadn't really noticed that he was that good before we got him.

Hit on Clarry
I remember it well, too,Tiers. Dean should have been suspended for staging. They got their come-uppance with Neville Crowe not long after, an innocent victim in similar circumstances (was it John Nicholls?) BUT..... I hope M Pickett isn't suspended, because I want Richmond to be at their strongest, and knock off a few of our rivals.

Hit on Clarry
Clarrie disclosed after the game that he had sore ribs, and the punch got him right in the sore spot. I hope this was noted by the umpiring fraternity, because otherwise it could be interpreted as an exaggerated response to the hit.

I'm so besotted with Bobby Hill, I'm going to get "GAOL" tattooed in large letters on my thighs, like him.

2024 MRO & Tribunal
The tribunal actually besmirched Lever’s character saying he is an expert at milking frees. It would be amazingly quick thinking for him to jerk his head back after hitting the ground. It all happened so fast he didn’t have time to use his free arm to break the fall. Saligo threw his head back after Kozzie brushed his face. No- one said he was trying to draw a free.

Best Recruits from Other Clubs
I’d like to add Steven Icke to the list of great recruits from other clubs. Courage personified in a weak team. I guess you’d have to add Peter Moore, though he didn’t shine in the above feature. Brian Wilson, too, who helped get strong again in 1987.
