  1. Our interest in guys like Frost, Gwilt and Lumumba speaks volumes - we have literally moved on even without an announcement.
  2. It's been well documented that Roos had to change his outlook and approach to the season once Clark and Hogan both went down. When he signed on our 3 key forwards were all available and shaping up to be ready for Round 1... and all 3 didn't play. I'm not saying it will make ALL the difference, but our style of play will evolve and allow us to play more attacking football in the future. The change will also come with more fresh faces who have had no 'taint' from the previous years, and they can come in ready to learn and improve under Roos without worrying about the past. It can be done, it might just take us longer than most.
  3. If anything he gives us a better option than our other list cloggers, and he comes to the club fresh and ready to learn under Paul Roos without any 'taint' from the past. If the price is right then I'm all for it.
  4. Doesn't matter which one, they're all a bunch of bollocks.
  5. There are posters on this board who believe the above would be a realistic trade and has the potential to happen. The challenge is to decipher who is worth listening to and who has no idea what they're talking about. Good luck.
  6. I have no idea, but clearly it is something worth doing to Roos, otherwise he would have been delisted already.
  7. Go the Mitch Clark rule and stop him from going home? I think his ties to QLD are legit though, can't see him going anywhere but Brisbane if he decides to leave.
  8. He would be an upgrade for sure... the only thing that worries me is the price we would have to pay to get him. I can see the Lions looking for nothing less than a second rounder and I'm not sure I'm comfortable paying that price for a bloke who struggles to get on the park regularly. But he is worth a look at least.
  9. Only because they are going with the youth movement. Would still be on their list otherwise.
  10. Plus I love the fact we are right on the front foot with these guys - as soon as they are available Roos is talking to them and putting forward our case. It's great to see.
  11. Unless they are a complete spud, which Gwilt clearly isn't, I refuse to write them off simply because Roos has a history of taking recycled players and turning them into guys who play their role and have a very positive impact on the side. If Roos thinks Gwilt can improve our list then I don't have any complaints.
  12. We won't get much, will end up being something like a Morton deal just to get him off the list.
  13. So one minute your opinion is based on KNOWING he rubs people the wrong way (which would be classified as a fact the way you worded it), but then the next minute it's just an opinion and you can't provide any facts on it? Keep digging pal.
  14. Not sure where to put this, but: Tom Browne @TomBrowne7 Bit of news out of @melbournefc , they've put a lot of work into blease (pick 17), but I understand he wants a trade to @CarltonFC #afl Thoughts? He was probably going to be delisted anyway, but would you be happy with a late pick or is there a (realistic) trade for a player we would go for IF this tweet turns out to be true?
  15. That's fine, and in some ways I don't disagree.... but who are these players that our backline needs? Where are we going to get them from? I can't see someone like Malceski coming to us at this stage in his career and with the interest he will receive, and outside of that.... who is it? Lumumba, even with any shortcomings, is an instant upgrade for a few years and if we get him cheaply then he WILL make us a better side. At this point we can't really say no to that if the right deal for him is there.
  16. Don't care if you like him or not, it's your silly comment that he will be a major problem in the locker room that I was arguing, which you admitted was based on nothing but your precious opinion.
  17. I don't think we'll have too much to worry about: Dees opening negotiations with Jones
  18. Lovely. So your attack on his character is nothing but an opinion that is not based on any fact at all. Great work.
  19. .... what? Horrible news for Morabito, was going to be an absolute gun a few years back and now he may never play again. Just tragic.
  20. Where has it been said he would have a negative impact on locker room morale? We only know a fraction of what goes on behind closed doors, and if the bloke was a problem he would have been given the flick a long time ago. That excuse doesn't hold much weight to be honest.
  21. I disagree. He isn't great, but he isn't terrible either and can play a handy role in a Paul Roos defence.
  22. Lumumba can defend also, and has the pace to go with it. Plus he has 199 games of experience that include plenty of finals. I'd like us to recruit Frost as well but Lumumba, for the right price, would bring something positive to our list as well that can't easily be ignored.
  23. I like how you knock Lumumba for his kicking yet say we should recruit Frost even though, and I quote, "he isn't the best kick...".
