  1. "It is also believed Dahlhaus would not entertain a move to Melbourne." Well you're a [censored] then Luke.
  2. The problem is that I can't see them even considering giving up a Libba, Bont, Stringer or Macrae. Just won't happen. I know we might want it to, but it won't. What the club needs to assess is if someone like Dahlhaus is worth the trade - Pick 3, with a promise to overlook a tall at Pick 2, for Pick 6 and Dahl would probably work for me. Wallis doesn't interest me much and they don't have much else I'd be interested in.
  3. Interesting to see this rumour is gaining a bit of momentum. And you're right - if they want Pick 2 so badly they will have to part with something good to get it moving, otherwise no deal.
  4. Some guys just don't get it. He should have been doing that from the moment he realised his endurance needed work, not when he was told he wasn't wanted at the club. Further proof that we don't need him on our list.
  5. James Fantasia: Which club asked the hardest question in interviews? @cpetracca7: @melbournefc, it took me two mins to answer it Love it!
  6. This pretty much sums it up for me. He doesn't fit the style of football Roos wants to play and he has too many glaring weaknesses that he hasn't been able to overcome. Let's hope we can get something decent for him.
  7. When he retired we got nothing for him and we were looking at a future without him anyway. While he has done a dog act by going elsewhere we will actually end up with a very handy player in return for him, when a few months back we had nothing to show for his retirement. Imagine if he WAS allowed to just go anywhere.... this could be a hell of a lot worse guys, but the fact is we end up with something to show for it rather than nothing at all.
  8. Clay Smith is the one that stands out to me. I've had a look through their list and nothing else stands out apart from those you've listed, which would be the untouchable players.
  9. According to Jay Clark Chip has chosen the Hawks. Not surprising or unexpected.
  10. H_H won't post here again if that happens....
  11. It's interesting as we aren't in a position to offer someone simply struggling for a run in the side who has talent - the ones who don't play have been very poor and are worthless on the open market. We don't have a Shane Savage, for example, who has looked good in a good side but struggled for a regular run and was easy to trade to someone else. Guys like Evans, Blease, Tapscott, Strauss.... they simply have no value, not even as steak knives. With the knowledge that we still need to have 3 picks in the draft I will be interested to see, if he wants to come to us, what we will give up to get him.
  12. And he has now disappeared from the banner forever. Now the REAL discussion begins... who replaces him?
  13. All the best Chip. I'm not disappointed he's gone but he still gave us good service, regardless of how blinded we became to that once we accepted he would leave. Although I must say I'm looking forward to Hogan tearing him a new one next year at the G. I'll look forward to that one!
  14. Yeah because we know EVERYTHING that's going on and someone like Dunn isn't allowed to wish someone who is a friend all the best in the future. We may not like what is happening but we don't see the whole picture. I would be more disappointed with the atrocious comments from so called Melbourne supporters than in anything Dunny has had to say.
  15. All good points dazzle, but since when have we been chasing Sauce Merrett? Edit - just saw the other thread. Should have looked first, but this was the first thread I clicked on for the morning!
  16. This is one of the only things in football I can say I've got a link to... but I know Trav pretty well and he is terrific fella. I don't see him regularly enough to guarantee that I can find out if this trade is going to happen or not, but if I do get the chance I'll see what I can get. I'd be happy with him at the club though, has his 'moments' on the field so to speak but would inject some class into the forward half of the field.
  17. Clark is a big risk though. While his foot seems fine and he has been working towards a return, there are guarantees he will be even close to the player he was. Those hamstrings and calves of his have taken a battering. I am beginning to see this as a positive though, as it's clear Clark has a wide variety of problems to work through and he can do so away from us. We need those committed to the cause and the long haul, and he isn't one of those.
  18. Jay Clark on Twitter says Cats reckon a second or third rounder should suffice in a trade. I'll take the second rounder and use it on another player like Lumumba. Best we will get out of it I think.
  19. This might work.... Cats: Clark Dees: Lumumba Pies: Pick 33 I said it MIGHT work, so don't go putting up 14,000 pictures like Song if you don't like it...
  20. Chuck in Harry Taylor and it's a deal.... He wants the best for the club and get us fair compensation, which would be in the form of a straight swap (of sorts) for Lumumba, yet he goes to Geelong. [censored].
  21. Well put Beats. Next to the elite kicks he is only average, can't dispute that, but as you say he is still an improvement over what we have which can only be a positive.
  22. I don't know where the circle jerk was forming - I was one of the posters who asked to see what it actually was as I thought it was underrated. There are more people willing to pot his kicking than say it's something positive he brings to the side, which is wrong. The above says 4 out of his 5 kicks at least go to a 50/50 contest, and if you watch him play (which I do) you'll know that he kicks is very long to those contests. Nothing wrong with that.
