  1. Apparently Hird is already trying to woo Mitch to the Bombers. Just the place he needs to go to keep his mental health in check...
  2. There are plenty who live on this board as well!
  3. I'll wait for the facts on this one as he may not even make it back, but I expect that if he decides to play elsewhere that we play hard ball. Thankfully he is still on our list so it gives us some room to move. If he does want to play elsewhere I'll be pretty disappointed in a bloke we showed faith in and supported during a dark period of his life.
  4. If Ryder goes to Brisbane would someone like Leuenberger look for opportunities elsewhere? Ryder and Martin would most likely do ruck/forward duties, not leaving much room for the big fella. Would be an upgrade on what we have if he became available.
  5. Correct. He wanted to come back to Vic, they shopped him but got little interest, although it's not clear how much Adelaide were asking in return. Will probably get another shot through a late pick or rookie list spot although I wouldn't have thought there would be great interest from our end.
  6. Adelaide have just delisted Shaun McKernan - still only 23 although hasn't shown much in that time to be honest. Is he worth a look? I'd start a thread on him but that's what I thought this thread was for, rather than clogging up the board with a thread on every player in the league.
  7. True, but I see his point. Jako was off centre to the point of training for 10 minutes, then saying he needed a [censored], only to never return to the training track. But we loved him all the same. HL might be a little precious but we shouldn't let that stand in the way of what he still brings to the table. As Jon Ralph said in his article he is still in the prime of his career and is well known for training hard and looking out for the younger players. I'll take that at our club any day and he is an instant upgrade on the runners we have already.
  8. Thanks for the recap mate. It sounds as though it had been going on for a while in smaller quantities, and while bringing it up in a tactics meeting isn't the right way to go, he had simply had enough of what had been going on and wanted to make his opinion known. It doesn't sound as though it's happened once and he's cracked it, more that it's been happening over the course of weeks/months/years and he spoke up. Then someone has defaced the photo, even though as a group they had discussed what had been going on, and that was it. Having said that we don't know how accurate the recount is, and while HL hasn't handled it really well it doesn't sound as though the Pies have either.
  9. Goldsack sniffing around for more opportunities? What, playing 20 games in a 23 game season not enough for him.... ?
  10. If he is talking about all the good times it won't be a long speech I wouldn't have thought...
  11. Shhhhhhh, that makes too much sense, they won't know what to get angry at....
  12. Not as quickly as you dropped the ball with your post.
  13. Premiership player still playing decent footy, most want to pass. Fair enough. My only gripe will be those same people talking up delisted rookies or blokes who can't get a game as players who will, and I quote, "walk straight into our best 22". Consistency and the off season don't go hand in hand I guess.
  14. I can't really argue that one, but I think my point is still valid. DH's aren't tolerated so easily in the AFL anymore.
  15. Never let the thread get in the way of a good Watts bashing Nasher. That record just keeps on playing.... and playing..... and playing....
  16. The problem with that is there is a bigger market for Chip than there was for Martin. Once GWS pulled out he had nowhere to go, where as Chip has at least 3 major clubs interested in him.
  17. Yes, they had DH's... then. It is being tolerated less and less by clubs as it isn't worth it anymore. Not as many out there and the top clubs like Geelong, Swans, Hawks, Freo etc just don't have them. Robinson is only 25 and has the opportunity to turn it around but his next contract will come with plenty of clauses in his contract about his behaviour. I'm not saying we chase him, far from it, just that in the current climate trouble makers aren't tolerated anymore.
  18. HH mentioned all great teams have a few DH's. I asked him to name them and, clearly, Shaw isn't one of them because he's at GWS, hence why I mentioned it. Lake has lost the plot once or twice but Robinson has a clear history of acting like one both on AND off the field. But I do agree that their ability to tolerate it directly reflects their contribution to the side. If it starts to suffer then they happily boot them out the door.
  19. True, unfortunately this time of the year means that every player delisted gets their own thread while the OP tries to come up with some wild and fantastical reason why he should be on the list in 2015.
  20. Yes they did, but Shaw played for GWS, Swan and Stevie J can be controversial but I wouldn't call them DH's, and Campbell Brown retired. Wouldn't say Lake qualifies either. Being suspended a few times isn't in the same league as the stunts Robinson has pulled.
  21. Doesn't matter now, signed a new 1 year deal with the Dogs.
  22. I was talking current sides. Of course sides have had a few over the years but, right now, I can't think of many playing in 2014.
  23. Which DH's are these?
  24. Have we got the leaders, at the moment, to sort them out though? I wouldn't have thought so.
  25. Such a 'meh' award for me. Couldn't care less who wins it, means nothing.
