I've had both my Covid shots as I'm sure that countless others on here have, I've had two negative tests and I'm prepared to have another three or four if needed. We should be allowed to go to see the Demons play in finals if we can show that we haven't got Covid and have been vaccinated, what is the reward if you are treated the same as those that refuse the vaccination or won't get tested. It's almost impossible to go to Perth because of the restrictions they have in place and if they are going to move it, I'd prefer Adelaide because we could get there earlier and isolate for maybe seven days. If we win I don't care how long they keep me over there,. I don't drink but I could learn.how to appreciate a glass or two if we won a flag.

Thank god we don't have to play any bottom 6 clubs in the finals, they truely frighten me. My nightmare is we finish playing West Coast in the GF in Perth. Sorry, silly me, West Coast won't be there will they 😂

I just hope we sign him up soon so we don't have to put up with 15 threads about when he's going back to WA. Not having a go at you sons but you know how the system works on here.

Bloody hell, I thought we won today.

Interesting Faulty, I went for a walk by the beach yesterday and today and there was a lot of Melbourne stuff being worn, I guess you aren't the only one who's not ashamed to be a Dees supporter now. Walked passed the butcher shop with my Dees hat on and got the big shout, Go Dees. For what it's worth, I think we will win the flag this year, at least.

I've heard a few commentators say that Fritta is a star, I think it's only the MFC supporters that don't appreciate him.

Great listening, I've never had a problem with Kane, he's always called it as it is and I'd rather hear the truth than someone just trying to appease.

The only time I actually read anything of that poster is when someone responds to one of his posts and thankfully, that doesn't happen often, he's been one of the two on here that I've got on ignore.

I've always been a fan of Tom and it pleases me no end to see him playing so well. Thanks to Goody for showing faith in him and turning his career around.

Harrison Petty of the Melbourne Demons Career AFL Stats (footywire.com) He kicked 6 goals 5 behinds in 10 games in 2019 when he was 19, so he has some form up forward. He's going to be a very good player.

Local media pundits not taking MFC as a serious threat.
Dante replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry, what was that? -
Interestingly BT was talking about Weightman before the game, sayng how good he was and how they had got him because we went for Kossi, then halfway through the game he said how Weightman continually tries to look for frees and should just concentrate on playing the game. I watched most of the game today and I couldn't believe the frees the Dogs got, especially when it looked as if they had offended and it should have been against them. That's double edged, they get one when they should have lost one,

Does your analysis take in to consideration where we play these sides? For instance, if we play West Coast in Melbourne, everyone knows how poorly they play away from home, or if we play them over there with no crowd. We may also play Port Adelaide at a venue in Victoria, that certainly won't help them. Then if, God forbid, our form improves to your acceptable standards, we may just beat one of the other teams that stand in our way. The Hawks may upset Port over here on the weekend, or the wonder kids, Essendon may beat the Cats on Friday night. The Tigers may beat the Cats in a few weeks. There are many possibilities, especially now we have a Victorian Hub, we have no idea how long this will last but is certainly throws a few spanners in the works. But keep at it, keep finding ways to show how Melbourne has no hope of finishing in the top 4. -
Brereton is an old fashioned bully boy and he used to play his football like someone out of the 1950's where you could get away with wacking someone in the back of the head or crunching them when they were vulnerable. He and a lot of the Hawks older players had/have no respect for the Melbourne footy club because we played football and weren't thugs. Plus when we were on top we used to destroy them on the field and their coach, Kennedy, changed their way of playing and swore we wouldn't do it anymore.t hey named them Kennedy'd commandos. If you can get a look at a Victoria v South Australia game in 1986, where he tried to be the tough boy with the skipper of SA, Chris McDermott, who was as hard as nails, he copped a hiding, physically and football wise as well. He had this idiotic grin on his face that showed he was hurt but would never show it, go on hit me again. Danny Hughes used to stick it up BT when he played against us and I don't think he's ever forgotten that. In one particular game Taylor actually threw a tantrum and went berserk, it was the funniest thing I've seen on a football field.

I said to my son that we would beat the Bullies and this week I said to him that if we beat Brisbane we would win the flag, I was far more concerned about them than the Bullies. They are the second best club in the competition.
-
Yes but we're not the Baby Bombers, just ask all the commentaters they'll tell you that they are the team of the future and that they should win a flag in the next 3 years. I doubt that they have taken the opportunity to look up the ages of our players, even Clarry is only 23 and Tracc 25.
-
He's not.
-
I'm sure he will slim down when he gets in to the system, he seems to be able to read the play and gets where the ball is.
-
Well put, I concur with what you say. My view is we are building a club and not a team, we have, for far too long, been a team with a lot of talent but haven't been a club since 1964. I don't want to win a flag and fall away, I want us to be a contender for many years and be a club that any young kid wants to be part of.

Just watched the first quarter and one thing I took notice of was the amount of times Weideman got his hands to the ball first, but didn't take the mark. In the first 20 seconds he would have probably marked the ball but tripped and the ball spilled free. The next two times he flew for a mark only metres out from goal, Jackson flew as well and they both spoiled each other. During the course of the first quarter he got first hands to the ball but couldn't hold it. What I'm saying is that if he had held his marks he would have been applauded for his game. There is only a small margin between an ordinary game and a really good game, he will start to hold them and when he does he will be a very good player for us.

I think our big test is going to be Brisbane, if we beat them I think we can win the flag. They have been gifted picks and have recruited well, they are a very good team. Oh, Old Dee don't think i'm having a go at you I think you are a good poster but just a bit negative right now. ?
-
That's not the issue, we have a good win and all you can take out of the game is that someone didn't play as well as you thought he should have. Too much negativity Old, just enjoy the ride. I swear at times it seems like you don't want success, that you would be happier just watching us lose. No they are not all perfect, but enough are playing well to give us a 10-1 start too the season.
-
Yeah, you missed how good the rest of the team was.
-
Perhaps Derm would like the game played over three quarters, or perhaps all clubs should play four quarters with the best quarter deducted from their score. If we win the flag Derm will probably suggest we were once again lucky and we will not be able to sustain the form to the next Grand Final.

Hi Old, there are enough experts on the site already, they don't need my meagre oferings.?
