AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
I think it may have something to do with their aggro towards other supporters and the "we'll go it alone" attitude.

COVID & AFL 2021
There may be some blow back if the AFL insists that the two clubs over there have to relocate here until the borders are open. I guess he cant keep the borders closed forever and once he does Covid will slip in. God only knows what Qld will do and they may have to relocate the Bears and Suns to NSW, that may not worry the locals as they don't really care about AFL anyway, but they sure as hell do in WA.
-
COVID & AFL 2021
Do you think that the AFL and the teams will put up with that, it would be far easier to have the two WA sides come over here and go in to a hub.
-
COVID & AFL 2021
So apart from Qld they are lagging behind all the other states. I think that shows they are well behind NSW and Vic, so I guess that does support the data.

COVID & AFL 2021
Their premier was talking about 90% not 80%, if they can't achieve that they won't open up and they seem disinclined to vaccinate over there. They don't give a [censored] about the National Plan, they will do what they want. Maybe we won't have to trade for Cerra after all.

COVID & AFL 2021
I don't know if this has been brought up but what happens if WA is still locked up at the start of the next year's football season? It appears that the government over there is talking about reopening the border next year and maybe around that time or later, would we just preclude Perth and Freo from the competition or would they have to stay over here in a hub, same with Queensland, I guess.

Will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021 even if we lose the Preliminary Final
I agree with a lot of what you say, but you make assumptions that we will continue to improve, which, by the way I agree, however nothing is guaranteed and there's no way of knowing that we will, or will not, improve. You have to make the most of your opportunities, there are no tomorrows, it's sometimes now or never. If someone had told me when I left the MCG after the 64GF that we wouldn't have another flag in 57 years I would have told them they were stupid.

Will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021 even if we lose the Preliminary Final
Then what's the point? If you don't care if your team is first why do you support them? Are you one that thinks participating is all that counts, everyone should get a ribbon even if they finish last?

Adam Cerra
I think that he is talking hypothetical, that's his idea how it could be done. It would shock me if the Dees even or ever considered trading any of the players mentioned. Why would you?

No

Adam Cerra
There is a thread on here, Angus Brayshaw Media Conference I certainly hope you're right and I hope he plays his days out with the Melbourne Footy Club

Adam Cerra
Have you listened to Gus's media conference? It's just a gut feeling but it seems to me that he would relish the opportunity to go to Freo and play with his brother. He seems to love the lifestyle in Perth and he was effusive about Optus Oval. I did also read on here, can't remember which thread, but a poster said Gus indicated he would like to go over to Perth to play at some stage.

Adam Cerra
From the Freo site. "Cerra made the step up and turned his potential into genuine AFL talent as he dominated a handful of games, including Fremantle’s wins against Hawthorn in round 11 and Melbourne in round 16. Playing mostly on the wing or as an inside midfielder, Cerra did things with the football that most AFL players couldn’t, with his spectacular goal against Melbourne just one example of his ability to execute by foot. He ranked second at Fremantle for tackles and at 20 years of age earned a third-place finish in the Doig Medal". Not saying I want to recruit him but this differs from your assessment of him. The only point I guess I want to make is that it's evident that Gus loves in the West and as he said, he has family over there, including his brothers and he was born over there. He talked about his love of the Stadium and the surface and from what he said it's only a matter of time before he returns. So if the opportunity to return there comes up in a trade for Cerra, he may put his hand up and suggest a swap. No one loves Gus more than I do, i've always been a fan and I'd hate to see him go but it's just a matter of time by the sound of it. He loves the Dees as well, but sometimes Family can be stronger than friends at a footy club.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
I noticed with Alir Alir in the few games I saw him play that he would start the first quarter like a train but would drift out of the game the longer it went, perhaps a fitness issue.. Admittedly it was a small sample but just my observation.

POSTGAME: QF vs Brisbane
The kids will get the chance, over the next ten years to play finals, no need to rush them. Give Jonesy a chance to be medical sub and put him on with ten minutes to go when we are well in front.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
To be quite honest he looked completely unfazed by the fact it was a final, he looked completely comfortable out there. Just another day at the office.

POSTGAME: QF vs Brisbane
It's not just the players you have it's the system, most players selected to play AFL are reasonably good but if a club doesn't have the right system they'll fail. We had a great team in 94 but had to rely on individual brilliance to win games, now all players play their part. All the players know what's required of them and they know that the whole team doesn't rely on them to win the game for us. That's how good clubs do it, it's just taken us a few more years to understand it.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
The look on Mayzie's face tells it all, he has a look of inner peace now, as opposed to the look of absolute despair he wore when he played for the Suns. I often thought he was going to cry and he looked like he was carrying the weight of the side on his shoulders.
